Deep into the mountains, a small house resides. High into the clouds, in the cluster of mountains, a young, 12 year old boy resides. This boy isn't one to be messed with, as he's quite the martial artist. This story, dear viewer, is not about one obtaining wealth, fame, or status. The story being told to you, before your very eyes, is about this young boy, Jax, becoming stronger and stronger until he is number one.
Like usual, Jax was taking his morning stroll around the high, thin-air mountains. As he dove into a lake nearby, he grabbed a giant fish that was worth eating. "Yum! I bet this'll last me until dinner!" the boy said in an innocent, young voice. The boy stood at 4"0 and he wasn't wearing a shirt, exposing his half-chiseled muscles. The boy had black, spiky hair that seemed to defy gravity, jagged and untamed, each spike bristling with raw power as if his strength itself pushed it upward.
The boy wore army camouflage pants that extended all the way down to his ankles. And to top it all off, he was wearing a scuffed pair of black sneakers he probably stole from someone. As the young boy started to walk home with his giant fish he had just caught, someone emerged out of the bushes. "Boy, give me the Fallen Crystal Star." the figure said, pointing his cold, sharp finger nail at Jax. "The Fallen Crystal Star? How do you know about that?" Jax asked.
"It doesn't matter, give it to me now!" the figure responded. Getting a closer look at the figure, he resembled a humanoid lizard, standing at 6"00 and his wet scales reflected the sun off him. Due to old age, the figure's skin has developed wrinkles all over his body. His scales were green, and despite being a lizard, he had a humanoid face with a human face and red eyes. "I don't just give it to anyone, understand? Jax replied.
"Fine, if you won't give it, then I'll have to take it myself!" the old lizard said, lunging at Jax before performing a downwards chop with his right hand. Jax quickly caught the lizard's chop, but it was all a front to get him distracted. While Jax's guard was down, the lizard sent in his tail to act as a sort of whip, but Jax caught it with his other hand. Quickly jumping back, the lizard placed both hands out in front of him as Jax started to levitate.
He seemed to have Jax in a telekinetic grasp. But it didn't take him long to break out of the grasp. Quickly jumping up into the air, Jax performed a downwards kick onto the lizard's head. As the lizard fell down to the ground, he held his hand out in front of him. "Okay, I give up!" he said with a stern yet annoyed voice. "I don't even have the Crystal Star with me at the moment. It's at my house!" Jax exclaimed as the lizard stood up.
"Ugh, well, lead the way then." the lizard said to Jax as he began walking towards the boy. "No." Jax replied, walking past the lizard and following a trail of his own footprints home. Watching the boy walk home, the lizard formed a sly smirk on his face. 'I'll just follow him home and steal it from there.' the lizard thought to himself. "My name is Ledgic. I have a feeling this isn't the last time we'll encounter each other." he said, disappearing into the bushes.
30 minutes later, when Jax got back to the house, he opened the door to see the Fallen Star missing from its place-holder. Dropping his fish, Jax quickly rushed to the desk where the Star was meant to be. "Where is it?!" Jax exclaimed, throwing furniture and blankets all over the place, trying to find it. He then checked outside to see Ledgic holding the white, glowing star in his right palm. "It's over, Jax! I have the Star in my possession!" Ledgic explained as Jax rushed over to him.
As Jax was about to punch him in the face, Ledgic seemingly disappeared out of thin-air, like magic. It was like he teleported. "W-What?! Where did he go?! How did he do that?" Jax pondered, not knowing what to do next. In a rush, he ran in a random direction, hoping to find Ledgic with the Star. But how will he find it if he doesn't know where he went? As he continued to sprint, he tripped on someone's shoe.
As he stood up, he saw a frail old man. The man was bald and had a long, slim beard that stretched down to his chest. He also wore an orange shirt with red stars covering it. "Are you okay, sonny?" the old man said, grabbing Jax's hand to help him up. "L-Ledgic! The Fallen Star!" Jax flustered, running from the old man in an attempt to find Ledgic. "Ledgic, huh?" the old man said, grabbing Jax by his shoulder.
"How do you know who Ledgic is? And how do you know about the Fallen Star?" he said. After explaining his situation to the old man, they both sat in silence for a few seconds. "I see… so your father gifted the Star to you and your older brother." the old man said. "Yeah, that was the last thing our dad gave to us before he disappeared." Jax replied. "Where did he go?" the man asked. "I don't know." Jax replied.
"I'm Ojiro, by the way." the man said. "I'm Jax!" he replied. "Could you stand still for a second, Jax?" Ojiro said, placing two fingers on his forehead. "Wow, you're at a Power Rating of 1,200!" Ojiro said, dropping his fingers down to his side. "What's a Power Rating?" Jax replied. "It simply determines how capable you are by measuring your strength, speed, durability, etc." Ojiro declared. "So how strong is the average person?" Jax questioned.
"The average person's Power Rating is about 10." Ojiro replied. "10? That doesn't make me all that powerful if I'm 1,200." Jax said in a sad tone. "You would be right if it weren't for the fact that Power Rating numbers aren't linear." Ojiro replied. "Huh? What does that mean?" Jax asked. "It basically means each number is stronger than the last." he said. "So you mean I'm way stronger than I imagined, huh?!" Jax replied.
"That's right, my boy." Ojiro said. "You're far stronger than Ledgic, who has a Power Rating of 700." Ojiro said once more. "So then I must go and fight Ledgic!" Jax demanded. "But you won't be able to defeat him." Ojiro said. "It won't be an easy feat if he has the Star." he explained. "So what now?" Jax asked the old man. "That's why I will train you." Ojiro replied. "You'll train me?" Jax questioned, making sure he heard correctly.
"Yup!" the old man said. "What's your Power Rating, then?" Jax asked. "10,600" Ojiro said with a simple smile on his face. "10,600?!" Jax asked. "Why don't you just defeat Ledgic, then?" he asked Ojiro. "Because he has that Star, and once it activates, there's no telling how powerful he'll become." he said. "Fine, but only because I want to learn more about you. I want to know how you know about the Star and your relationship with Ledgic." Jax said.
"I'll tell you everything in due time, young one. Even including how I met your father, Tax." Ojiro said. "You knew my father?" Jax replied. "I've also got a secret I want to tell you, Master Ojiro." Jax said once more. "What is it, my boy?" Ojiro asked. "The truth is, I'm 19 years old. A few months ago, I was cursed and placed in a 12 year old version of myself. I was waiting for the Star's power to reset so that I could turn back into an adult." Jax said.
"Ah yes, the Star's power can only be used every 6 months. I had forgotten that." Ojiro said. From the distance, a boy, looking to be 17 years old, was running towards Jax and the old man. "Jax! I saw everything with that lizard guy!" the young man said. "Ah, brother Sukisawa!" Jax said. "Wait, I thought you said you had an older brother? He looks like a teenager." Ojiro said. "Yeah, but he's technically my older brother since I'm stuck in this 12 year old body."
"Fair enough…" Ojiro said, placing two fingers on his forehead once more. "This is odd… it says that your brother's Power Rating is 980, but I can feel something else. It feels like he's hiding his true power." Ojiro said. "Yeah, my mother said that Seiko had too much power when he was born, so they immediately sealed the majority of his power away with a curse." Jax replied. "Oh… fair enough… Anyways, shall our training commence?" Ojiro asked the two boys.
"Yeah!" the two boys responded. "Okay. I'm sure both of you know the world has hundreds of small islands scattered around the globe, barely over 1 kilometer in length. And there's a giant land mass, almost taking up 10% of the globe. It's called Stratarus, and it's home to multiple cities and landscapes, due to its immense size." Ojiro stated. "Uh, actually, we didn't know any of that." the two boys replied, creating a sense of awkwardness.
"Ugh, I have a lot to teach you boys." Ojiro said. "Anyways, we're currently on an island called Tonpetti. It's full of tall mountains and nothing else. We're going to be migrating to an island a few kilometers off the shore from here called Double-Sun. It's where our training will commence." Ojiro said, starting to walk down the mountains. "We'll go there by boat. Once we're there, I'll teach you how to fly." Ojiro said happily.
"Wait, Sensei." Jax said.
"What is it, my boy?" Ojiro replied.
"Before we go, I want you to tell me everything about how you know about Ledgic and the Fallen Star."

Appearance: His appearance matches that of a humanoid lizard with green and wet scales along his body. His fingers are sharp and cold, and he has a wrist-band with spikes on it on both wrists. Despite being a lizard, he actually has a somewhat human face, albeit without counting his snout. He looks wise and knowledgeable, probably because he's extremely old and has wrinkles all over his body.
