Chapter 7 - We’re Being Invaded By Perverts!

"Fourchan?! What the hell is that?! See things? Like visions? What are they perverts?"

The system was busy feeding me all the information I could ever ask for. So much so that I was starting to doubt if this was even a dream. I can't be this creative can I?

If it isn't then these guys could be a serious problem.

What's worse is they seem to live on a 3 star planet because a friggin 'Earth immortal died there. How the heck does an immortal just die?

{The Fourman race are renowned for their scrying ability. They have the highest number of treasure hunters in the universe. They're almost as good as dragons. Occasionally they will even give birth to oracles. Beings that can pry into the future. The current oracle has successfully pried into Maria's future already and she plans to meet her soon.}

WHAT?!

"How the heck do you know that?!" John stood up from his chair in a daze!

How could the system possibly know that? Is it because of the artifact?

"Wait, the artifact! I never asked what that was! What is it?"

John couldn't believe how stupid he could be. He has a so-called universal artifact and he hadn't even bothered to ask what it was. What's worse is that he was in the same star system as friggin TREASURE HUNTERS!

{The artifact you speak of is called the Akashic Records. It contains all the knowledge of the universe and is used as a tool to help others comprehend the laws of fate and chaos. It originates from the First Universe and is one of the top 5 most sought after items in the entire cosmos. (Try not to tell anyone). Thankfully the shard is protected by greater forces and your planetary core serves as excellent camouflage.}

John had his mouth agape. He didn't know how to even react to this news. Should he cheer over his good fortune or should he throw the thing straight in the trash and be rid of it completely? Also, why was the system even telling him all these things anyway?

{It is in a planet's nature to take things slow and be patient. By the time the system creator wakes up he will fetch what belongs to him.}

'Why did I even ask?'

John was in full panic mode. What would happen if the creator woke up? The damn Record thing bonded to his core! Would he explode if that happens? He didn't know and he didn't want to know.

John already knew the answer but he had no other choice but to ask.

"How do I hide from the system creator?"

{There is none… ERROR… OVERIDE… YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN TWO OPTIONS. A. DITCH THE SYSTEM B. FIND ANOTHER SYSTEM. THE SYSTEMS WERE NOT DESIGNED TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE CREATOR. IN HIS HASTE TO SURVIVE, THE CREATOR LACKED THE TIME OR ENERGY TO TRACK ALL HIS SYSTEMS. ONLY THE PLANETARY SYSTEM AND REINCARNATION SYSTEM HAVE AN ACTIVE TRACKER ON THEM.}

What the fuck?

"Great, another thing to worry about. Something overriding my system. It did this when it tried to give me rewards. Are there two systems? Or is the second voice… You know what? Doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what to do with our future visitor."

John had to worry about this treasure hunter/oracle. The system said she was coming to meet Maria, so maybe he wasn't necessary?

No, I won't leave her out to dry like that. Besides, I still plan on becoming famous sooner or later. Might as well be sooner.

"So when is she coming?"

He asked the system and surprise surprise, the thing actually has an answer to that.

{One week.}

John thought for a moment and decided to call the little arch angel over. It wasn't hard, all he had to do was send over his thoughts and she was already here.

"My lord."

Maria bowed her head and John could clearly see the… Non-Holy bits about her through her dress.

John tried to concentrate on the current matter however. As hard as it was.

"Maria, we will have future visitors in a week. They want to meet with you and I want to make sure they don't do anything to upset you." John stated it like it was a matter of fact.

The little angel on the other hand looked into John's eyes and felt like she was about to cry, and soon she did exactly that.

John was a little confused about this. He didn't remember giving her any points in spontaneous crying? He gave that to another one.

After a second of contemplation he reached over and patted her on the shoulder and watched her body jerk as he did.

"There there…"

Maria tried to compose herself and explain why she was crying.

"I'm sorry. I just can't believe you would care so much for me. I don't know what to say? Would you like me to attend to your bed tonight? Or now?" She asked that question with tears still in her eyes.

'Maybe if it were a minute ago you freak!'

Of course that's what he was thinking but he would never say that aloud. He had to be more quant. Let her down gently.

"Uh… No."

Nailed it.

As soon as Maria heard that response she immediately stopped with the crocodile tears and asked the question that was on her mind.

"So how do you know somebody is coming anyway?"

I looked at her and had to think of a reliable lie. The Akashic Records has something to do with fate so that seems like a good enough start.

"Oracles have a way of communicating with each other on another level. I merely saw her arrival just as she surely saw mine." He spoke with a smug look of confidence.

Of course what he said was actually the truth if you think about it. He never claimed that he was an oracle, nor did he say that he saw the future. He just 'saw' the information on his status board.

Maria on the other hand had stars in her eyes.

"I want to become an oracle! If I could predict the future I could view our future wedding everyday! Hehehe…" Maria covered her mouth as she chuckled with an evil grin.

John was once again creeped out.

'When I put points in their levels of obsession I really wasn't expecting them to be perverts too.'

He just rolled his eyes when he thought about dealing with 30 more of these idiots and walked away. Leaving Maria in the corner dry heaving while thinking of her future with him.

John still had things to learn about and try to achieve.

"Let's talk about laws."

{Understood. Laws are simple, if you want to increase your level of comprehension you have to…

One week passed in relative silence.

John continued learning all sorts of things, this included laws of course but he was mostly interested in his current neighbors. The history, the current politics and most importantly the restrictions on the Akashic Records.

Sadly there were a few. He couldn't gain the secrets of the universe without some backlash afterall. The most noteworthy flaw is that it can only access recorded information.

He could access common information within the myriad galaxy and limited information on the big dogs of the cosmos. Just their names though.

Speaking of his galaxy, apparently he resided within a pinwheel galaxy.

There was no common law and the galaxy was full of anarchy. Civilizations rose and fell all the time and thanks to the power of Qi. Advanced technology was incredibly bare. Only the top civilizations were capable of interstellar travel and the Fourchans (at least this band of nobodies) weren't one of them.

At least not anymore.

Their race wasn't powerful. They're tall, lanky and even their scales are fragile. Millions of years spent on a ice planet with low gravity can do that to you.

Intersystem travel wasn't even remotely possible for these guys much less extragalactic travel. These guys are actually more primitive thanks to their former leader. Some pervert who ran away in shame and declared himself a deity to a bunch of orphans.

Literally children without a home.

As for how he died? Suicide.

An Earth-immortal who had the entire planet at his fingertips. Gone just like that. Thanks to him, his planet was elevated to a 3 star planet within days. A planet that could originally only spawn 2-3 Grandmasters now had over a couple dozen Dragon-ranks and hundreds of Grandmasters.

Sadly, since all this race was so individualistic they weren't able to create another Earth-immortal without bloodshed.

Leading to the planet technically being a 0.2 Star planet.

Qi is like water. If everyone holds it in then nobody gets it. Not till blood is spilled anyway, but at that point you're just stuck with dirty water that needs to be purified first.

So war became inevitable. Factions and religious zealots ran around like headless chickens all trying to get as much spiritual energy as they could devour so that they could elevate themselves to higher levels.

Sadly none could become the next Grinder, and of course that has only pissed off a lot of people.

The commoners say the war is necessary to keep aliens out. The religious zealots say only they are worthy of inheriting all that excess qi.

'Me? I agree with the commoners. They desperately need an earth immortal to keep this place safe. Otherwise alien invaders will start looking in my direction. I'm not ready for that just yet.'

Just as he was thinking of getting back to his training, Maria came running towards him with Jace in tow.

I was a little surprised by her arrival but looking at her face I started to feel worried.

""My Lord!""

They both looked at each other, both looking a tad bit nervous.

They spoke in unison as they did.

"My Lord I-"

"My Lord they-"

They stopped and glared at each other. It wasn't long before they got into an argument about what's more important and who was there first but John didn't have the patience for that.

"Cough! Maria, I can guess why you're here but why is Jace here?"

Jace stared at him for a second not knowing what to say until she looked over at Maria and gave her a smirk and a side eye. Clearly reveling in her level of importance.

'I really hope these idiots don't become mortal enemies or anything. They're way too useful.'

"Well?" He impatiently asked.

"Ah! Yes, well… It seems I'm being invaded."

John pursed his lips and just gave out a short, "Huh…"
