Chapter 11 - CHAPTER 12 — Shadows and Countermoves

Feriha tightened her grip on the survivor's hand, every fiber of her being alert. Ravihan moved beside her like a shadow, scanning the warehouse with sharp, practiced eyes.👀

Selene remained in the center, her silver coat gleaming under the swinging lamp. She didn't move closer this time. Instead, she watched them, predator and prey locked in a dangerous dance.

"You're brave," she said softly. "But bravery doesn't save anyone here." 🤠

Feriha swallowed, forcing herself to meet Selene's gaze. "We're not leaving without her," she said firmly, nodding toward the survivor.

Selene tilted her head, amused. "Ah, the little journalist has spirit. Very well. Show me how clever you truly are."

Ravihan whispered under his breath, "We need a plan. We can't just rush her. She knows every exit, every trap." 📝

Feriha's eyes scanned the warehouse. Rusted beams, stacks of boxes, shattered windows;everywhere was a potential hazard. But she noticed something else: a narrow service door partially hidden behind a stack of crates, its hinges old but functional.

"That door," she whispered. "We can get out through there." ⚔

Ravihan nodded. "It's risky. But better than moving through the main floor."

Selene's voice suddenly cut through the quiet, sharp as a blade:

"Thinking already? Good. But remember;every move you make is already anticipated." 🙃

Feriha swallowed, her heart hammering. She took a deep breath, then whispered, "We split. I take the survivor. You distract her."

Ravihan shook his head. "I won't leave you."

"Then I won't leave her," Feriha said firmly. "It's the only way. Trust me."

For a tense moment, Ravihan considered arguing;but the flicker in Selene's eyes told him she would exploit any hesitation. He nodded reluctantly.

"Go," he said. "I'll cover you." 🔗

Feriha led the survivor toward the crates, moving silently. Selene's eyes followed them, unblinking, but she made no move. The air grew colder as they reached the service door.

Feriha pressed the handle;locked. Her pulse surged.

Ravihan stepped forward from the shadows, tossing a small smoke device to the floor near Selene. It hissed and erupted in a dense cloud, shrouding the main floor in white mist. 🌫

"Now!" Ravihan shouted.

Feriha twisted the latch. The door gave way. She dragged the survivor through, pulling it closed behind her.

From inside the smoke, Selene's laugh echoed, low and dangerous:

"Clever… but only temporarily."

The warehouse shook as something heavy fell somewhere inside;the sound of metal crashing, glass breaking. Feriha froze.

Ravihan's voice came through the door, sharp: "Go! Don't stop!" 🚶

They ran down a narrow alley behind the warehouse, the night swallowing them in darkness. Feriha glanced back once. Through the gap in the smoke, Selene's figure stood perfectly still, watching them leave.

Her silver coat caught the moonlight like a blade.

Feriha's chest tightened. She realized something terrifying: Selene didn't need to chase them. She had already trapped them mentally, and the real danger was only beginning. 🧠

The survivor clutched Feriha's hand, trembling. Feriha swallowed, determination rising.

"No more running," she whispered. "We'll finish this. I'll find the truth. And I won't let her hurt anyone else."

Ravihan emerged from the shadows of the alley, sliding next to them. His eyes were dark, resolute.

"Then let's go," he said. "We need to figure out where Selene is really hiding the answers… before it's too late."

Feriha nodded. She knew the path ahead would be deadly;but for the first time, she felt she wasn't just a victim anymore. She was a fighter.

And Selene's game… was about to get much, much harder. 💥
