The Moon Oracle chamber was the quiet kind of terrifying—vast, echoing, lit only by floating orbs of silver flame. Asteria swallowed hard as the Oracle, a woman whose eyes shimmered with entire galaxies, turned toward her.

"Asteria of Lyria," the Oracle intoned, "approach."

Asteria stepped forward. Kael tried to follow, but the Oracle raised a hand. "Alone."

Kael frowned. "She shouldn't—"

"Prince," the Oracle interrupted gently, "your presence clouds her fate."

Asteria whispered to him, "It's okay. If she eats me, avenge me."

"She won't eat you."

"You don't know that!"

He reluctantly let her go.

Inside the circle of light, the Oracle extended her hand. Asteria hesitated—then placed her own into it.

And the world split open.

Visions flooded her: a collapsing moon palace… Kael surrounded by shadows… a great silver star burning too bright… her own reflection glowing like a cosmic wildfire.

A single whisper echoed through her mind:

"The Starweaver chooses the fate of the Moon Prince—life, love, or ruin."

Asteria gasped as the vision dissolved.

The Oracle released her. "Your magic is awakening faster than expected. And your bond with the prince…" She paused. "…complicates destiny."

Asteria blinked. "Bond? What bond? Is this about the hand-holding? Because that was HIS idea."

Before the Oracle could respond, the chamber doors slammed open. Lunevar strode in.

"Asteria," he said smoothly, "I've been sent to escort you back. The court is… curious."

Kael appeared behind him almost instantly, eyes narrowing. "I was going to get her."

Lunevar smirked. "Too slow, cousin."

Asteria sighed. "Please don't fight. Especially not in a sacred room full of fragile mystical artifacts."

Kael stepped to her side, voice low. "What did the Oracle show you?"

Asteria hesitated. She didn't know how to say it—that his life might depend on her choices… that love could save or destroy him.

"It was… a lot," she finally whispered.

Kael gently took her hand, ignoring Lunevar's raised eyebrow. "We'll face it together."

Asteria felt her heart jump again. Annoying heart. Always betraying her.

But before she could answer, alarms echoed through the palace—

a booming thunder that shook the Moon Court.

A guard burst in, breathless.

"Prince Kael! Starweaver! The shadows have breached the outer ring!"

Asteria groaned. "Seriously?! I JUST finished my prophecy appointment!"

Chaos, it seemed, refused to wait.
