Chapter 30 - Skeleton Transformation

Only after temporarily getting rid of Uther did Rhodes finally breathe a sigh of relief. How much did that old man want to drag him into the ranks of the Paladins!

When he learns Warlock or Druid mage spells in the future, those Warlocks and Druids will probably go crazy too!

He needs to pay attention to this in the future; he can't act so abnormal when learning spells, otherwise, he might scare people!

During these few days of travel, Rhodes also constructed five buildings. First, he built the graveyard that can produce zombies and the mausoleum that produces ghosts. Now, his Necropolis can produce three types of units.

In addition, he also built a Necropolis Tower, which can increase the number of Necromancy by 10%. Currently, the post-battle revival rate has reached 20%.

On the fourth day, Rhodes chose to build a Crypt, which can increase the weekly production of Skeleton Soldier by 6.

On the fifth day, Rhodes chose to build a skeleton transformation field. The construction cost for these three buildings was 1000 gold units each, which was very cost-effective.

The skeleton transformation field is a special building of the Necropolis race. It can transform any creature into Skeleton Soldier. If it's a dragon or a hydra, it can be directly transformed into the strongest level six unit, a Bone Dragon.

In the game, this building is very important because it can transform useless zombies into useful Skeleton Soldier, or if you capture some non-Necropolis lairs in the wilderness, you can bring some of the trash units back to the city and transform them into Skeleton Soldier.

After completing the construction, Rhodes couldn't wait to try out the effect of his skeleton transformation field. In the game, this building can only convert your own recruited units.

However, according to the lore, the skeleton transformation field can convert captured soldiers or the corpses of other units.

That evening, while everyone was camping, Rhodes finally found an opportunity. Their campsite was next to a large stream.

Rhodes looked at the fully armed Lordaeron soldiers, carrying weapons to fetch water, and immediately became thoughtful.

It is well known that in Azeroth World, wherever there is water, there are Murlocs.

As soon as you approach the water, these numerous, dozens-centimeter-tall, squawking little monsters will charge at you.

So, when fetching water in some areas, you must be fully armed and very careful; otherwise, these squawking little monsters might instantly pounce on you and tear you to shreds.

Although Murlocs are low-level creatures, it's surprising that some of their elders can use Shaman spells, such as casting lightning bolts, which gives humans a headache.

Humans have organized large-scale extermination campaigns against these harmful creatures, but each large-scale cleansing only brings peace for one or two months.

Then, large numbers of Murloc eggs would hatch again, and coupled with the Alliance's constant wars over the past decade or so, either resisting Orc invasions or the scourge.

Therefore, large numbers of Murlocs would occasionally emerge from some of the large streams near Lordaeron.

Rhodes now had a bold idea: secretly kill a few Murlocs and throw them into the skeleton transformation field, or capture a few Murlocs alive and throw them into the skeleton transformation field.

He wanted to see if he could transform them into Skeleton Soldier. If so, it would be a huge profit. In Azeroth World, the Murloc population is enormous, just like fish in a lake.

These little guys can reach sexual maturity in a year and then reproduce. You only need a large pond to raise them like livestock.

Of course, you also need to have some strength yourself, otherwise, a Murloc Shaman might come and hit you with a lightning chain, and you'd be dead.

"What's wrong, Rhodes? What are you thinking about?" Jaina asked, seeing Rhodes looking a bit distracted.

"Jaina, I just finished learning Holy Light Spells, and I'm feeling a bit restless. I want to go for a walk." Rhodes planned to find an excuse to leave the camp and go catch Murlocs by the lake.

"Rhodes, you want to invite me to walk with you, don't you?" A playful smile immediately appeared on Jaina's face.

Many men tried this trick to ask her out, like "going for a walk somewhere?" or "admiring the nearby scenery?"

This was a common dating tactic among young men and women, and the one who loved to use it most was a certain thousand-year-old prince from Dalaran.

But please, an old man a thousand years old trying to court a 20-year-old human girl like herself, was he kidding?

To be honest, Prince Kael'thas was indeed very handsome, but as soon as she thought of his age, Jaina instantly lost interest, and at that time, she was still thinking about Arthas.

Now Rhodes also wanted to invite her, and he was also an excellent mage. Should she accept or not?

Just as Jaina was deliberating, Rhodes' answer caught her off guard.

"You misunderstood, Jaina. I said I wanted to take a walk by myself." Rhodes smiled at Jaina, then stood up and walked away, leaving the bewildered female mage behind.

What was happening? This was completely different from what she had imagined! Wasn't he planning to invite her?

"Uh, Rhodes, I can come with you. I also wanted to look around nearby." Jaina called out tentatively.

"No need. I prefer to walk alone." Rhodes' voice came from a distance.

"..." Jaina touched her fair face, even taking out a mirror to check. Had she been too busy these past few days, causing her appearance to be a bit off, leading to a serious decline in her charm?

Uther, sitting nearby, shook his head helplessly. Arthas, you idiot! Your childhood sweetheart, Jaina, might fall for someone else!

King Terenas and Admiral Daelin both wanted to bring the two together. The marriage between Lordaeron and Kul Tiras would benefit both kingdoms.

Fortunately, this young man named Rhodes was also a blockhead. Jaina's attitude towards Rhodes had been very good throughout the journey.

But Rhodes didn't pay much attention to her, which was truly absurd. If he were a dozen years younger, he would definitely pursue Jaina.

Rhodes deliberately walked by the lake, and sure enough, he heard a series of squawking noises. More than a dozen Murlocs, only a few dozen centimeters tall, holding rotten fish bones or rotten wooden sticks, rushed out.

These ferocious little guys immediately pounced on Rhodes after seeing him, seemingly wanting to tear him to shreds.

A smile appeared at the corner of Rhodes' mouth, and golden light instantly erupted from the ground beneath him. He immediately cast Consecration. To deal with these low-level creatures, one area-of-effect Holy Light Spell was enough.

In just an instant, the Murlocs close to Rhodes were directly laid flat on the ground.
