Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The Golden Great Evolution Technique

York Academy of Science and Technology, New York, USA.

This school, located in this megacity of approximately 1214.4 square kilometers, wasn't particularly famous, nor did it boast a plethora of celebrities.

Finney chose to attend simply because it was the closest school to his home and had the best facilities.

"Sigh, it seems there's only one year left..."

Finney muttered to himself, a hint of worry in his eyes. His feet trod on the soft, green grass as he prepared to take a shortcut to the school gate.

  "Sigh!"

Looking at the endless stream of people at the school gate, Finney couldn't help but let out another long sigh. In just one year, the world would begin to undergo earth-shattering changes, changes beyond the imagination of most people.

"I'll say it one last time, I don't want to go out for drinks with you, and please don't bother me here, okay?"

A familiar voice, tinged with suppressed anger, reached Finney's ears. Turning his head, he saw a tall, burly man and a group of people harassing a beautiful girl not far from the school gate.

The girl had long, flaxen hair, delicate features, a high nose bridge, and a pair of amber eyes now filled with impatience.

Seeing the girl, Finney's expression changed. He strode over, shoved the tall, muscular man aside, and stood in front of the girl, asking in a deep voice, "Brian, what do you want?"

Carson Brian, the captain of the school's basketball team, seemed to be good-looking and had decent basketball skills. He was quite a popular figure at school, so while Finney wasn't exactly familiar with him, he at least recognized him.

  "Finney Hellseg!?"

The tall, muscular man, having regained his footing, was taken aback when he saw Finney, then said with a grin, "Hey, Hellseg, this isn't your business. I just wanted to meet the lady behind you."

  "Finnie!"

Behind Finnie, the beautiful girl who was being pestered called out in surprise, making Carson realize that the two must know each other.

"She's my sister, what's it to me?!"

Finnie replied coldly. Although Carson was much stronger and more muscular than him, Finnie showed no fear.

  "Your sister?!"

Carson was stunned, seemingly not expecting this situation, his face slightly embarrassed. His teammates were also surprised, and by this time, a crowd of students had gathered to watch.

Seeing Finnie's cold gaze, Carson couldn't help but take a step back. Noticing his companion's surprised look, he instantly felt embarrassed, then stepped forward again and said arrogantly, "I didn't know she was your sister, and besides, I just wanted to invite her out for a drink."

"Are you deaf? Didn't you hear she refused?"

Finnie stared directly at Carson without fear. Although he never liked to cause trouble, he wasn't about to be bullied like this and remain silent.

  "Finnie, let's go."

The girl tugged at Finnie's clothes, clearly not wanting to escalate the situation given the growing crowd.

"Be careful, I think you'll definitely fall if you walk like that."

Looking at the crowd, Finnie, not wanting to cause trouble in front of so many people, stared intently at Carson, said something in a flat tone, then turned and pulled the girl out of the crowd.

Behind them, Carson, hearing Finnie's words, paused in confusion, turned back to his teammate, and was about to ask, "What did he mean..."before he tripped over his own feet and fell heavily to the ground, cutting his lip and bleeding profusely. Although the injury wasn't serious, he looked quite pitiful.

Everyone around was startled; several girls even screamed. The girl being pulled away by Finney, who turned around at the sound, also witnessed the incident.

The two got into a car. In the driver's seat, the girl's large amber eyes were filled with curiosity as she stared intently at Finney, asking, "What was that person all about?" "Murphy's Law,"

Finney shrugged, spouting nonsense with a straight face.

"Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. If you worry about something happening, it's more likely to happen."

"Bullshit!"

The girl scoffed. "Finnie, even though I didn't go to university and my grades aren't as good as yours, it doesn't mean I'm a fool."

"Tch." Finnie curled his lip, remaining silent, which only angered the girl more. She grabbed Finnie's ear and threatened, "Are you going to tell us or not? I'll tell Mom and Dad about your drinking."

"Okay, okay, let go first,"

Finnie quickly begged helplessly, muttering under his breath, "You always threaten me with this. If you hadn't insisted on drinking that stuff and forced me to drink with you, would I have drunk it?!"

Finnie was utterly helpless with this older sister. If he had known it would turn out this way, he should have chosen a younger sister.

Carson's situation earlier wasn't caused by Murphy's Law; it was one of the abilities he gained after coming to this world.

Finnie wasn't originally from this world. As for how he came to this world, he didn't know. He only knew that when he woke up, he had become a child who could only cry and couldn't even speak.

Fortunately, he wasn't completely naked when he transmigrated. He immediately discovered he carried a seemingly powerful system that could extract various skills from anime.

'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' was the first skill Finney extracted using the system, and it was incredibly powerful—powerful to the point of needing to be emphasized three times. Unfortunately, he still couldn't unleash its full potential.

"Golden Grand Evolution Technique"

"From: A Certain Magical Index"

"Description: Magic that alters reality according to one's own thoughts."

"Wish-fulfilling"—that's the simplest summary of this ability. When Finney first extracted this ability, his excitement was indescribable. He howled and screamed all night, fantasizing about all sorts of wonderful futures, which resulted in his parents having huge dark circles under their eyes the next day.

However, after Finney calmed down, he realized things weren't so simple. He discovered the ability wasn't working. He imagined himself growing up instantly, but after an hour, not a single hair grew. Of course, it's possible he did, but he just didn't realize it.

Only then did he hurriedly study the system again, only to discover that the system was only responsible for extracting skills, but the use of skills still depended on individual circumstances.

Therefore, the reason he couldn't utilize the skills was due to himself.

The feeling of falling from heaven to earth was most vivid when Finney first discovered this situation. The reason it wasn't a fall into hell was because he knew that although he couldn't use them now, there would definitely be a way in the future, and the beautiful future he desired could ultimately be realized.

After realizing the skills weren't working, Finney temporarily put aside the 'Golden Great Evolution Technique' and began studying this so-called extraction system, a name he gave himself based on its functions.

After all, the system's functions were very simple; besides extraction, there was only a seemingly empty experience bar, which was full before extraction.

Obviously, the next extraction would have to wait until it was full again. Subsequently, he researched many methods, but apart from a tiny amount of experience that naturally increased, there seemed to be no way to increase it.

Until that accident.
