Chapter 1 - The Strongest SwordMaster Wants A Slow Life With His Royal Wife (Volume 1)

Taka's Past

Former Life: An ordinary office worker from Japan with a passion for Kendo.

Ability: A master swordsman, he wields the Flowing Water Sword Style, a technique where his strikes shift seamlessly—sometimes calm and flowing like water, sometimes fierce and crashing like waves.

Personality: Calm and composed, preferring to solve problems with precise strategy rather than reckless confrontation.

📍 Chapter 1: Awakening and the Swordsman by the Riverbank

When Taka opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a sky so vividly blue it seemed to stretch endlessly. Gone were the fluorescent lights and humming computers of his office. The only sound reaching his ears was the gentle murmur of flowing water.

"Am I… dead?"

As he sat up, the weight of a sheathed sword resting against his back pressed into him. But this was no wooden practice sword from his previous life. This was a beautiful katana, exuding a calm, almost living aura.

Beside him lay a single sheet of paper.

"Taka… Walk your second life through this world with peace and calm. This sword, like your own body, will protect you."

Taka stepped toward the riverbank, gazing into the water. Reflected in the surface was the body of a young man, roughly twenty years old. As he gently touched the water, it responded to him—rippling toward his hand as if alive.

"Is this… control over water? No… it's not that. My mind and senses are simply one with the current."

From the depths of the forest, a faint cry for help reached him. Unfazed, Taka held the sword calmly, his hand gripping the hilt with quiet certainty, and turned toward the source of the sound. It seemed the moment had come—his first time drawing a sword in this new world.

Chapter 2: The Flowing Blade

Taka moved calmly toward the edge of the forest from where the sound had come. Between the shadows of the trees, he saw a merchant wagon surrounded by a group known as the Grey Wolf.

The merchant huddled beneath the wagon, fear etched across his face, while two guards, swords in hand, were already injured. The situation was dire.

"Ugh…"

The Grey Wolf leader spotted Taka and let out a fierce howl. Instantly, three of the wolves leapt toward him, moving in unison like a single deadly force.

"You… Run now! These aren't ordinary wolves!" shouted one of the guards from atop the wagon, his voice trembling with exhaustion.

Taka, however, remained unshaken, as if he hadn't heard a word. He took a deep, steady breath. In that moment, he sensed the damp forest air and the river mist flowing into his body, as if merging with the sheath on his back.

"Flowing Water Style: First Form — Still Ripple"

Just as the Grey Wolves' claws were about to strike his neck, Taka's blade gleamed faintly. Without a hint of hesitation, he let his body flow like a stream. The wolves' paths were disrupted midair, as though a hidden current had swept them aside.

With a swift, controlled motion, Taka drew his sword—not with brute force, but with perfect precision. The three Grey Wolves were struck on their necks, as if slashed by blades of water, and fell to the ground with heavy thuds.

"What… what kind of technique is that?" the guards gasped, their jaws dropping in astonishment.

The remaining wolves, now terrified, retreated into the forest. Taka wiped the drops of blood from his blade, watching as they fell to the earth like tiny droplets of water. His gaze was calm, serene—so composed that even the Grey Wolves seemed less like enemies and more like ripples in a vast ocean he was observing.

"Will there be more?" Taka asked, his voice cool and composed, carried gently on the wind.

The Grey Wolf pack, including their leader, disappeared into the forest. Taka sheathed his sword with deliberate calm.

"Thank you… thank you, sir!" the merchant called from under the wagon, bowing deeply. "I'm headed to the nearby town. If your path leads that way, please, follow me."

Taka paused for a moment. Heading into town would be the best way to learn more about this new world.

"Very well. My name is Taka. Lead the way," he said.

With that, he tightened his grip on his sword and set off toward the town. What he did not yet know was that in the vicinity of Chapter 5, he would meet a woman who would change the course of his life forever…

Chapter 3: Unmeasurable Power and the Basic Rank (Rank F)

After following the merchant's horse-drawn wagon, Taka arrived at the bustling city of Aethelgard. Towering walls framed the city, and the crowded marketplace was alive with chatter, unfamiliar scents, and new sights. Everything was completely foreign to him.

"This is the Adventurer Guild, Taka. With your abilities, you'll find plenty of work here," the merchant guided him, his tone encouraging.

Taka stepped inside the massive Guild building. Inside, the air buzzed with conversation—adventurers boasting of feats, some nursing drinks, others brandishing weapons as they spoke. Calmly, he approached the registration counter.

"I'd like to register as an adventurer," he said.

The young woman behind the counter smiled and handed him a translucent gem. "Certainly. Place your hand on this Soul Stone. It will measure your Magic Power and Physical Strength, and determine your Rank."

Taka placed his hand gently on the stone. After a brief moment, blue lights began to swirl inside it. Suddenly, the gem trembled. Experienced adventurers in the Guild paused and turned to observe. The light surged violently for a moment, then abruptly vanished, leaving the stone dark and inert.

"Uh… what's happening?" the attendant muttered, inspecting the stone again. "Is it malfunctioning? Your power isn't showing at all… it's unmeasurable."

A nearby adventurer chuckled. "Hahaha… Not unmeasurable—it's just because you're weak. Look at you, dressed like a simple villager, holding a sword just for show."

Taka said nothing, remaining calm. The attendant's expression faltered. "I'm sorry, sir. By Guild regulations, if your power isn't measurable, you may only start at Rank F. Even if your sword technique is exceptional, you'll have to begin from the bottom."

"Very well. I have no concern for rank," Taka replied, nodding.

To him, establishing a foothold in this world was far more important than immediate advancement. Taking his Rank F badge, he proceeded to the Quest Board.

The available tasks for Rank F were simple: "Slime Extermination" and "Medicinal Herb Collection." Taka chose the Slime Quest.

"A low rank isn't bad at all. I can take it slow and steady," he thought.

As he left the Guild, he contemplated testing his abilities in the forested outskirts of the city. At the same time, he would need to pay his room rent with the earnings from this first Quest. Although he was now officially a Rank F Adventurer, the katana on his back concealed powers capable of shaking the very foundation of this world.

📍 Chapter 4: Green Slimes and the Misty Blade

Reaching the edge of the forest from the city, Taka inhaled the fresh scent of grass and earth. Today's target: twenty Green Slimes, the creatures that had been wreaking havoc on nearby farmlands.

"Let's get started…"

Three of the jelly-like Slimes trembled before him. Taka hadn't drawn his sword yet; instead, he focused on sensing his internal stats. He realized why the Soul Stone in the Guild had been unable to measure him: his power wasn't ordinary magic—it was connected to the World Essence itself.

🧪 Slime Quest and Observation

One Slime leapt at him. Taka calmly dodged, then tapped its Core—the central mass at the heart of the creature—with the tip of his sheathed katana.

Splash!

The Slime burst like a drop of hot water, leaving behind a small, glowing blue crystal.

"That's a Monster Core," Taka noted. "I've heard these can be sold or used in alchemy."

All morning, Taka dispatched Slimes while observing the laws of this new world. He noticed something remarkable: the mist and flowing air around him seemed to enter him, easing fatigue. It was as if the environment itself supported him—a Passive Skill he hadn't yet understood.

⚔️ Training Skills and Renting a Room

By midday, Taka found a quiet spot on the outskirts of town to review his sword techniques.

"Flowing Water Style: Second Form — Mist Slash"

As he swung his blade, mist rose from the sword, blurring his image and creating a deceptive illusion—a move designed to confuse enemies. Best not to use these powers too obviously. I just want to stay calm and steady, he reminded himself.

In the late afternoon, with his Quest earnings in hand, he headed to a modest inn called Gentle Breeze Inn.

"I'd like to rent a room," he said.

"One night is five coins, sir. Breakfast and hot water are included," the innkeeper cheerfully replied.

The room was small but neat. Opening the window, Taka admired the city's evening glow. Placing his katana by his side, he settled on the bed, thinking:

Back in my old life, the office, the chaos… this is truly a piece of heaven.

What he didn't know was that tomorrow, the merchant's daughter, whom he would save, would turn his peaceful little life upside down…

📍 Chapter 5: An Unexpected Encounter Among the Hills

One calm morning, Taka was performing his second quest in the city outskirts: "Collecting Medicinal Herbs in the Forest." Walking quietly along the riverbank, attuned to the flow of energy in his surroundings, he suddenly heard the clash of steel and shouts coming from a trail leading through the hills.

"This way…"

Taka moved stealthily toward the source. Peering through the trees, he saw a typical merchant wagon surrounded by roughly ten armed bandits.

Beside the wagon stood a young woman dressed plainly yet radiating a unique, commanding presence. She was none other than Princess Emilia. She was escorting a merchant, trying to remain unnoticed, but the commotion had already drawn attention.

"Girl… your attire isn't like any ordinary merchant. If we take you, you'll be worth a fortune!" the bandit leader sneered, advancing with a cruel grin.

"Try it! Touch me, and you'll regret it," Emilia snapped back, gripping a short blade tightly, though her hands trembled slightly.

At that moment, a young man emerged calmly from the forest.

"Isn't it a bit much to resort to this?" Taka asked, his katana strapped to his back, his voice relaxed yet firm.

"Hey! Who are you? Do you want to die?" shouted two of the bandits as they charged him.

Without even blinking, Taka flicked the hilt of his katana with a swift motion. His steps flowed with grace and speed, like water in a river.

"Flowing Water Style: Third Form — Whirlpool Dance"

As he swung his sheathed blade, the mist around the sword formed small, swirling waves, sending the bandits flying. Within seconds, all of them lay defeated on the ground.

Taka sheathed his sword again and walked over to Emilia, offering his hand.

"Are you hurt?" he asked.

Emilia, astonished, froze for a moment. She had never seen such a sword technique before. Pretending composure so that he wouldn't discover her true identity as a princess, she quickly masked her awe.

"Th… thank you. My name is Emilia. We're just escorting a merchant heading to the nearby town," she said, weaving a subtle lie.

Taka looked into her eyes, sensing something unusual, but smiled politely. "I'm Taka, a Rank F adventurer. The journey to the town can be dangerous, so I'll escort you."

Inside, Emilia felt a flutter in her chest. She didn't know he was a princess, yet this calm swordsman, treating her as any ordinary girl, sparked her curiosity.

"Taka… your sword technique is truly amazing."

"Really? Thank you," he replied modestly, as calm as always, and began leading the way forward.

Unbeknownst to Emilia, this encounter would plant the first seeds that would shatter Taka's peaceful new life in this world…

📍 Chapter 6: A Fine Restaurant and an Unexpected Gesture of Gratitude

Upon reaching the city gates, Emilia reunited with her entourage. Yet before parting ways with Taka, she seemed determined to repay him in some way.

"Taka-san… as thanks for saving me earlier, please allow me to treat you to lunch."

Taka shook his head gently. "That's alright… I only helped because it happened along my quest path," he said calmly. But Emilia's insistent demeanor led them to a grand restaurant called Golden Laurel.

🍴 An Unexpected Lunch

Upon entering, Taka was struck by the opulence—luxurious furnishings, fine decor, and an air of refinement. Dressed in his Rank F adventurer attire, he felt completely out of place.

"Th-this place… Princess… Emilia-san, this restaurant looks incredibly expensive," Taka murmured, slightly flustered.

Emilia giggled softly. "Don't worry, I'm just a merchant's daughter… this isn't too extravagant," she said, though Taka noticed her manners and demeanor were far more refined than any ordinary merchant.

As they sat, the chef presented an array of exquisite dishes. Taka ate quietly, his calm and composed demeanor piquing Emilia's curiosity even more.

"Taka-san, your sword techniques… where did you learn them? I've never seen anything like that before," she asked, genuinely intrigued.

Taka sipped his wine calmly. "Ah… that's just my own style. I observed the flow of water and learned from it," he said with modesty, concealing the truth: his technique was a fusion of Kendo from his previous life with the World Essence of this world.

⚠️ An Uninvited Guest

As they conversed, the restaurant doors suddenly opened, and a young man in gold-trimmed attire entered. It was Julian, the prince Emilia's father had sent to accompany her.

"Emilia! I was worried you might encounter danger on the road!" Julian exclaimed, rushing toward their table.

He shot a sharp look at Taka. "Who is this Rank F adventurer? Emilia… why are you with someone so low-ranked?"

Emilia's expression stiffened immediately. "Julian! He saved my life. Don't speak to him harshly!"

Julian glared at Taka, clearly skeptical. "Saved you? Someone like this? Lucky, I suppose. Hey… how strong are you? Show me!"

Taka calmly picked up a piece of meat from his plate. "I'm not strong… just fortunate," he replied nonchalantly. His goal was simple: avoid trouble and leave the restaurant quickly.

Yet Julian sensed something in Taka's composure—his unshakable calm made an impression. "Do you… want to test yourself outside?" Julian challenged.

📍 Chapter 7: The Value of Tranquility

Julian's challenge reverberated through the restaurant. All eyes turned toward Taka, the Rank F adventurer, clad simply yet radiating a presence that unsettled onlookers.

"Afraid? Don't just stand there—draw your sword!" Julian shouted, tugging at the golden sword strapped to his back.

Taka casually flicked the hilt of his blade. Inside, he felt a slight irritation at Julian's brashness but closed his eyes for a moment, contemplating.

If I display my true strength here… the princess, her family—they'll all flock to me. My calm life is over.

He lightly tapped his sword once, creating a subtle ripple of energy, then quietly stood up, leaving the remaining meat untouched.

"I'm sorry… I'm not at a level to compete with you. Please allow me to leave," Taka said politely.

"What!" Julian was stunned. He had expected an angry retaliation, but Taka simply passed by him, steady and unshaken, like a stone in the road.

"Taka-san! Wait!" Emilia called, reaching out, but Taka did not turn back.

"Thank you for lunch, Emilia-san. It was very good. But I'm just a normal adventurer—I don't belong in places like this."

Taka bowed politely, then walked calmly out of the restaurant. Julian remained, fuming, muttering to himself, "That arrogant fellow!" Yet in Taka's mind, there was nothing but serenity.

Once outside, breathing in the fresh city air, he smiled.

This is the freedom I truly want. Fame is nothing compared to having enough to eat and living at peace.

He decided to return to the Quest Board. Another twenty Slimes would be enough for rent today. Little did he know that Emilia, intrigued by Taka's unique demeanor, was already planning to follow him secretly, wanting to learn more about the calm swordsman who had captured her attention…

📍 Chapter 8: A Quiet Pursuer and Riverside Training

Taka arrived at the forest edge just outside the city, sunlight filtering through the treetops. Today's quest was simple: clear out some wild boars. Yet ever since leaving the city gates, he sensed something unusual.

Someone is following me…

He smiled subtly. Being attuned to the flow of water and air, Taka could perceive even the slightest disturbances around him. The follower was a skilled warrior, yet they could not evade his awareness.

The one trailing him was none other than Kael, Emilia's most trusted bodyguard. Hidden among the trees, Kael carefully observed Taka's every movement.

Why is the princess so interested in this Rank F adventurer? He looks like an ordinary person… Kael wondered silently.

🌊 The Essence of Swordsmanship

Reaching a wide riverside clearing, Taka paused. Before beginning the quest, he drew his sword.

"I'm not drawing this to deal with the one following me… but I want to test something new today," he murmured.

Taking a deep breath, Taka lifted his sword. The water in the river shivered and droplets lifted into the air. Kael, watching from above the trees, blinked in astonishment.

Flowing Water Style: Fourth Form — Frozen Brook

As Taka executed the form, the airborne droplets instantly solidified into small ice shards, encasing a large stone in front of him. Within seconds, the rock was covered in ice, revealing jagged surfaces. This was an advanced technique: freezing water energy midair. Taka sheathed his sword calmly and wiped sweat from his brow.

🕵️‍♂️ The Confrontation

"You've been up there watching too long. Come down," Taka said, facing the river.

Kael leapt from the treetops, landing firmly in front of Taka with one knee bent in respect.

"You know me? I'm Kael, the city prince's personal guard. On the princess's orders, I'm watching over you."

Taka glanced at him and nodded. "Emilia-san is a clever one. I only want to remain calm and undisturbed."

"The way you wielded your sword… that's not the skill of a Rank F adventurer. May I know who you really are?" Kael's voice trembled with a mix of fear and respect.

Taka smiled and twitched the corner of his mouth. "Me? I'm just an ordinary swordsman, trying to get by day to day. Please, don't tell the princess what you saw today."

With that, Taka turned and calmly walked into the forest to begin his wild boar quest. Kael remained, staring at the ice-covered stone, struck speechless.

📍 Chapter 9: Hunting Wild Boars and an Unexpected Encounter

After leaving Kael behind, Taka ventured deep into the forest. Amid the roots of giant trees, he spotted three Iron-Hide Wild Boars. Twice the size of normal boars, their armored hides shone like steel.

I need to take them down without damaging their hides to get good loot, he thought.

Drawing his sword with fluid grace, Taka moved like a flowing stream rather than a striking force, targeting only the vulnerable under-neck region. Using his Still Ripple technique, all three boars fell silently, unable to utter a sound.

🏹 An Unexpected Encounter

While tying up the boars to transport them to the city, Taka heard horse hooves approaching. Rounding a forest path, he came face-to-face with a party of riders.

It was none other than Princess Emilia, Prince Julian, and their entourage.

"Ah… Taka-san!" Emilia exclaimed, jumping down from her horse. Her eyes widened in astonishment as she gazed at the captured wild boars. "You defeated all of these alone?"

Julian narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Taka. "Hah… Rank F, and lucky to even encounter these boars. Emilia… don't waste your time speaking to someone so low-ranked."

Taka calmly bowed his head. "Indeed… I was fortunate. Please allow me to help."

💥 A Sudden Twist

As Taka prepared to leave, a terrifying roar echoed from deep within the forest. The horses reared in fright.

"What… what's that sound?" Julian's face paled.

Emerging from the foliage was not a normal monster, but a massive Earth Bear—Rank B and one of the most dangerous carnivorous creatures.

"Protect the princess!" the guards shouted, rushing forward, only to be swatted away by the bear's massive claws.

Julian drew his sword but struggled with trembling hands. "D-don't… come near! I'm Julian, the prince!"

With a furious leap, the bear lunged at Julian. Emilia's eyes widened in terror, instinctively covering her face.

Shwip! A cold spray of water brushed across her cheek, and when she opened her eyes, she saw Taka standing calmly between Julian and the bear. His sword was sheathed, resting in its scabbard.

"Why disrupt my hunt…" Taka muttered, flicking the water casually.

The bear froze midair, unable to advance further. Its massive body crystallized into ice, shattering into pieces like a frozen statue.

Julian lay sprawled on the ground, stunned, while Emilia looked at Taka in awe, as if gazing at a divine being. Taka, indifferent, continued calmly past them, carrying the wild boars, untouched by either danger or acclaim.

📍 Chapter 10: Unwanted Challenge and the Willow-like Sword Form

News of the Earth Bear's defeat spread quietly throughout the palace and its surrounding circles overnight. For Julian, however, it was not a point of pride—it was his greatest humiliation.

The next morning, Taka left for the Guild to pick up a new quest, as usual. But at the wide field in front of the Guild, Julian and a group of his royal guards blocked the path, waiting for him.

"Taka! You embarrassed me yesterday!" Julian's face burned red with anger. "Those boars you killed were only injured—you just got lucky. Let's see if you can stand against my true swordsmanship!"

Drawing his prized blade, Julian stepped forward. "I challenge you to a 1-on-1 duel. If you lose, you will leave Emilia's side forever!"

Taka let out a long, calm sigh. "I'm not staying by her side, and I have no desire to duel."

"Refuse, and I will have you arrested as a criminal!" Julian barked, pressing his challenge.

⚔️ The Duel

Guild adventurers and cityfolk gathered around to watch. Even Emilia rushed over, knowing the situation.

"Julian! Stop this!" she shouted, but he ignored her.

"Die!" Julian charged at Taka with full force. Trained in palace swordsmanship, his strikes were fast and precise.

Dong! Dong! Dong!

Taka didn't even draw his sword. Using only his scabbard, he deflected Julian's powerful strikes one by one. His footwork was subtle, almost like a leaf floating on water, making it impossible for Julian to land a hit.

Flowing Water Style: Fifth Form — Willow in the Rain

This technique redirected the enemy's power against themselves. When Julian struck downward with all his strength, Taka flicked the scabbard, hooking Julian's wrist gently.

"Aah!"

Julian stumbled, losing his momentum, and fell onto the ground. His prized sword flew into the air and landed at Taka's feet.

🕊️ Resolution

Taka picked up the sword and returned it to Julian's hand.

"Your swordsmanship is strong, but your mind is too reckless. Don't wield a blade in anger," Taka said calmly.

He then walked out of the crowd unbothered. Julian could only sit there, speechless. Emilia smiled quietly, watching Taka's retreating back.

Taka… truly remarkable. How can I keep him by my side? she thought.

Taka, meanwhile, had only one thought in his mind: Living here in this city won't be peaceful for much longer. Maybe it's time to move to another town…

📍 Chapter 11: Misranked Quest and the Forest Bandit Camp

Three days had passed since the duel with Julian. Taka tried to stay unnoticed in the city, avoiding attention as much as possible. But he still needed to complete a quest to cover room and board.

At the Guild's quest board, he selected an E-Rank mission: "Eliminate the small bandit group in the northern mountains." The description listed only five bandits, so it seemed like an easy task for him.

⚠️ Unexpected Situation (C-Rank Risk)

Upon arriving at the northern mountain bandit camp, Taka immediately realized the situation was not as expected. There were not just five bandits, but at least thirty, including two magic users.

This isn't E-Rank… it's at least C-Rank, he thought, noting that the Guild's intel was clearly outdated. A simple miscalculation could have been deadly.

"Who's that kid? Coming to our camp?" a bandit shouted, spotting him. Immediately, a group of armed bandits surrounded Taka.

⚔️ Action: The Speed of Flowing Water

"I'm here for a quest. If you stay calm, no one needs to get hurt," Taka said serenely, drawing only his scabbard.

"Hahaha! Is this kid insane? Kill him!"

About ten bandits leapt at him. Taka took a steady breath. The moisture in the surrounding air seemed to flow into his scabbard, sensing his intentions.

Flowing Water Style: Second Form — Mist Slash

In an instant, Taka became like a misty ripple among the bandits. Their strikes hit nothing but air while he moved swiftly, like a fish in water.

Fsh! Fsh! Fsh!

Within seconds, the five frontline bandits had their weapons knocked aside, collapsing to the ground. Taka did not kill them—he merely struck their muscles to disable them.

"Magic users! Attack!" their leader shouted. Two mages hurled large fireballs at him, threatening to engulf the forest in flames.

Flowing Water Style: Sixth Form — Hidden Current

Taka swung his scabbard from bottom to top. Water energy surged from the ground like a massive wave, extinguishing the fireballs and pushing the mages backward.

Only the bandit leader remained, trembling as he threw down his weapon and dropped to his knees.

"Alright… alright! We surrender!"

✅ Completion and Concern

Taka tied up all the bandits and prepared to report back to the Guild. Though the battle lasted only a short time, the forest bore the aftermath of a large-scale fight.

I came for an E-Rank quest… and it turned into a major ordeal. I'm exhausted, Taka muttered.

Even more worrisome, the Guild would likely raise his rank after seeing this performance. His dream of a slow, peaceful life seemed to drift further away with each passing day.

📍 Chapter 12: Rank Promotion and the Silent Departure

When Taka returned to the city, having tied up the bandit group and escorted them back, everyone who saw him was astonished. At the Guild, Mary, a young staff member, ran over, eyes wide in shock.

"These… these are the Shadow Fang bandits! They're C-Rank threats. Taka-san… did you handle them alone?"

Taka simply nodded. "Ah… just got lucky. The Guild info said only five bandits, so I went along," he answered calmly.

The incident drew the attention of the Guild Master himself, who decided to immediately test Taka for a rank promotion from F to D, believing that surpassing E-Rank was well deserved.

⚔️ Rank-Up Exam: Calm Power

The exam was held at the Guild training grounds. Taka's opponent was a C-Rank veteran swordsman tasked with testing him.

"If you can withstand my sword techniques for three minutes, I'll grant you Rank D," the examiner said.

The duel began. The examiner struck with full force, but Taka did not even draw his sword. With only small, precise steps, he avoided every attack. His movements were like a flowing stream—so smooth that the examiner only struck air.

"You haven't even drawn your blade yet!" the examiner yelled, swinging a powerful strike.

Taka raised his scabbard lightly, redirecting the blow to the side. This was the basic counter of Still Ripple. The examiner stumbled backward, astonished.

"Enough… you've avoided my attacks as if it's child's play. You're more than Rank D; I can see it now."

Amid cheers from the Guild, Taka received his new Rank D card.

🎒 Silent Departure

Yet Taka did not feel joy. Guild members surrounded him, and several invitations from Emilia arrived.

If I stay here… my slow, peaceful life will be over.

That night, Taka packed a few belongings, leaving them on the table in his room. He quietly slipped out, deciding not to bid Emilia farewell, knowing that interacting with her would only bring more complications.

He avoided the guards at the city gates and stepped into the open streets. The full moon shone over the calm river.

In the next town… maybe I can finally live quietly.

Taka secured his blade on his back and set his sights on Oceania, a coastal city to the south, walking calmly toward it.

📍 Chapter 13: The Wind of Oceania and the World's First Flight Magic

Upon arriving in Oceania, Taka was greeted by the breathtaking sight of deep blue seas and the salty scent of ocean air. The city stretched along the coast, with small white-stone houses built beautifully along the shoreline.

Finally… a place to rest, Taka thought.

He rented a small wooden house near the beach and spent a few days taking a break from quests, strolling along the shore and fishing to pass the time.

💨 Awakening of Wind Affinity

One evening, Taka sat on a rock by the seashore. As he remained calm, sensing the moisture in the air, a sudden strong sea breeze hit him. The airflow seemed to flow into his body along with the water currents. The waves moved like the wind, and the wind flowed like water.

Water and air are really the same… both are flows.

Opening his eyes, Taka lifted his hand. A small air vortex formed on his palm, combining with the water energy to become a potent wind force.

[System Notification: Wind Elemental Magic Unlocked]

🕊️ World's First Flight Magic (Research)

In this world, mages could use air to levitate briefly or perform short jumps, but no one had yet flown freely for a long period. Taka, drawing upon his scientific knowledge from his previous life, decided to experiment.

If I can stabilize the wind pressure under my feet… can I actually fly?

He condensed the surrounding air with his water energy, forming a dense cushion like miniature floating stones, then stepped onto it.

Woosh…

Taka rose about five feet above the ground, testing forward movement and backward retreat. It felt remarkably similar to the Flowing Movement from his sword techniques.

Should I call this "Sky Walk"? No… it's freer than that. I'll name it "Azure Flight."

During the quiet, empty hours along the beach, Taka glided calmly above the shoreline, looking down at the vast ocean below. It was a profoundly peaceful feeling.

🥥 Slice of Life: Coconut Juice and a Calm Evening

After his flight practice, Taka sat on a beach chair, sipping cool coconut juice.

Living here is really good. No princesses, no royal guards…

Yet even in that calm moment, he heard a commotion from the Oceania Guild. A massive shadow was slowly approaching the shore from the ocean. Taka let out a quiet sigh.

Looks like my little vacation is already over…

📍 Chapter 14: The Sea Breeze and the Princess's Tracking

After testing his flight magic and enjoying peaceful moments on the beaches of Oceania, Taka remained calm and composed. Yet, in the capital, things were stirring with concern.

🏰 The Princess's Decision

Inside the castle, Princess Emilia paced in the study, her expression a mixture of worry and frustration. In front of her, her loyal bodyguard Kael knelt respectfully.

"What! He's gone… really?" Emilia's voice trembled with anxiety.

"Yes, Your Highness. Taka-san left the city last night without informing anyone," Kael replied.

Emilia gazed out the window, her eyes searching the horizon. Her concern was not just for Taka's unusual sword techniques, but for the calm, composed aura that had captured her heart.

"Kael… prepare my travel attire. I'll go find him myself."

"But Your Highness… if the king finds out—"

"I've already asked the Chancellor for permission under the excuse of a 'territorial survey.' No matter how far he goes… I will find him," Emilia said, her eyes shining with determination.

🕵️‍♂️ Tracking the Trail

Emilia and Kael began investigating the routes Taka might have taken. Though Taka had tried to cover his tracks, reports of the Shadow Fang bandits' defeat and the "Earth Bear" ice sculpture he created served as clues for Emilia.

"If he has control over water… he's likely heading toward the ocean," she deduced.

After three days of travel, they reached the outskirts of Oceania. Though trade in the city was good, monster activity had recently reduced traffic.

🌊 Arrival at Oceania

Entering the city, Emilia overheard startling news.

"Hey… did you hear? Yesterday, someone was walking above the waves on the beach!" a merchant exclaimed.

Emilia froze. Walking on air? She glanced at Kael.

"Does Taka-san possess powers beyond water control?" Kael asked, astonished.

Emilia smiled. In this world, the only person capable of such extraordinary feats was the mysterious Taka.

"He's here, for sure… Let's head to Oceania's Guild first."

Adjusting her headpiece, she stepped briskly through the crowd, unaware that at that very moment, Taka was preparing to confront a massive threat emerging from the sea.

📍 Chapter 15: Azure Sword and the Giant Sea Serpent

The entire beach of Oceania shook violently. The sea erupted as a colossal, coiling shadow emerged, scales shimmering in blue and silver—the Giant Sea Serpent. Its terrifying roar sent panic through the city.

"Run! Into the city!"

Amidst the chaos, Emilia and Kael reached the city entrance. They watched in horror as the enormous creature approached the shore, easily the size of a building.

"That… that's a Rank A Monster! Oceania's Adventurers can't handle this," Kael's face turned pale.

🕊️ Azure Flight: The First Aerial Battle

From the crowd, a young man appeared, walking calmly toward the sea. Taka drew his sword. The surrounding air began to shift, rippling with his power.

"Taka-san!" Emilia cried, but Taka could no longer hear her.

Stepping lightly, Taka's body lifted into the sky like a bird. Riding the currents of air, he soared toward the serpent's massive head.

He… is flying? Without hesitation? Emilia and the onlookers gasped in disbelief.

The serpent unleashed scalding blasts of water, but Taka dodged gracefully midair. His sword glowed with a combination of water and wind energy, shimmering in blue.

"You're ruining my peaceful moment…" Taka said calmly.

Combined Art: Storming River — Dragon Slasher

Taka swung his sword downward from the air. The wind intensified, merging with the water energy to form a massive blade of blue light. The sword cut through the serpent's armored scales as if slicing butter.

Whoooosh!

The serpent screamed in pain and fell back into the ocean, disappearing beneath the waves. Taka descended calmly from the sky to the beach.

🤝 An Unexpected Reunion

As he sheathed his sword, a shadow approached. Gasping for breath, tears in her eyes, it was Emilia.

"I finally… found you, Taka."

Taka blinked in surprise, smacking his forehead. "Huh… Emilia-san? How did you get here? Am I going to have to run again?"

Emilia smirked, brushing her hair back. "This time, you can't escape anywhere. And you're going to explain all about this flying magic of yours."

Taka's heart raced slightly, though he tried to maintain his calm exterior. His peaceful life was about to get even more complicated—thanks to this determined princess.

📍 Chapter 16: The Princess's Invitation and the Near-Lost Peace

After defeating the sea serpent on Oceania's shores, the citizens cheered for Taka as if he were a hero. Yet his attention wasn't on the praise; it was on Princess Emilia, standing quietly before him.

"You… wherever you go, problems just seem to follow," Emilia said, smiling gently.

Taka gave a small sigh. "I don't seek trouble. Trouble seeks me. And Emilia-san… you following me this far—that's the biggest problem I have." He spoke honestly, with a touch of his usual dry humor.

☕️ Beachside Discussion

Later in the evening, Taka, Emilia, and Kael sat outside a small beachside café. The sea breeze was cool, but Taka's mind felt restless.

"Taka-san… I officially invite you to serve as our kingdom's Royal Magic Swordsman," Emilia said calmly. "Your ability to fly and control water is extremely valuable to the nation."

Taka shook his head immediately. "I can't do that… I want to live quietly. Just imagining myself following the rules and responsibilities of the castle… it makes my stomach churn."

Kael interjected gently, "But Taka-san… the princess came all this way from the capital to find you. Could you at least accompany her as her personal protector for a while?"

🛌 Protecting the Slow Life

Gazing at the sea, Taka reflected on what he truly wanted: to sleep in the mornings, fish in the afternoons, experiment with new sword techniques in the evenings… a simple, peaceful life.

"Emilia-san… the only way I can help you is as a Free Companion. No one can give me orders, and I'll go wherever I choose. If you accept that, then I'll consider it."

Emilia's eyes sparkled. "Fine! As long as you accompany me as a friend, I'm satisfied. I promise, no one will ever give you orders."

Taka still felt a twinge of worry. Have I just stepped back into the whirlwind? If I follow this princess, my dream of a slow, peaceful life will only remain a dream…

🌙 A Remarkable Night

Late at night, Taka sat atop his house roof, testing a wind magic he had created. Gentle currents danced across his palms.

"Life doesn't always go as planned… but knowing someone in this world truly needs me isn't so bad," he thought, smiling at the moon in the sky.

Tomorrow, he would begin a new journey alongside the princess. Yet one thing remained certain: his sword, the Flowing Water Blade, would always protect him, no matter what dangers awaited.
