For the first time in his life, Danzo felt despair.
He had just watched the trailer that Naruto had released, and it made him regret his decisions.
Not about killing the Uchiha or others, but about Naruto.
Why didn't he forcefully take Naruto under his control?
Even if Minato was there to help him, he believed he could've put Naruto under his control using Kotoamatsukami.
But at the same time, there was a deep fear in his heart.
The fear stemmed from the fact that Minato and Kushina were able to defeat the Nine-Tails and transfer its Chakra to Naruto.
That meant if he had truly pushed Naruto into the roots, there was a chance that he could've died.
Minato was his worst enemy. Danzo's biggest strength was Wood Release and Sealing Jutsu, but he didn't have access to Wood Release during that time.
As for Sealing Jutsu, it would be his demise if he used Sealing Jutsu in front of Minato.
In other words, his only power was his Wind Release, but he was old, and Minato was fast. Even if it was just for a moment, Minato could easily kill him.
Not just once, but multiple times. What's worse, Minato could take him several hundred miles away from Konoha and kill him.
That way, Hiruzen couldn't even come to his rescue.
That's why Danzo had both regret and fear in his heart. Strangely enough, he still didn't regret releasing the information about the Nine-Tails.
He thought negative emotions would let Nine-Tails Chakra go berserk like with other Jinchuriki.
He still hadn't forgotten how easily Kushina lost control of the Nine-Tails Chakra just because she believed Minato was avoiding her.
Unfortunately, Danzo didn't know Minato had sealed half of the Nine-Tails within himself. Hiruzen wouldn't be stupid enough to tell him about that.
With the Eight Trigrams Seal and Uzumaki Chakra Reserves, the half of the Nine-Tails couldn't do anything to the seal.
It could only slowly erode the seal by releasing its Chakra. Unfortunately, that chakra would merge with Naruto's Chakra Pool and become his Chakra.
In other words, Nine-Tails was supplying Chakra to Naruto so that Naruto could suppress him with Chakra.
This was especially funny because Nine-Tails' Chakra only started affecting Naruto when Naruto lost control of his emotions.
Whether it was against Haku, Orochimaru, summoning Gamabunta, Neji, or Gaara, Nine-Tails Chakra only came out when Naruto ran out of his own Chakra.
In the case of Neji, his Chakra was sealed, so the situation was the same, although more controlled.
Even when he faced Sasuke, it was only when Sasuke stabbed Naruto through the chest that Naruto accessed Nine-Tails Chakra.
With Naruto's positive mindset and the Eight Trigram Seal, Danzo's conspiracy failed.
Of course, according to Danzo, he did this because he was afraid people would start leaving Konoha after that disaster.
So, he wanted to pull all of the hatred from Konoha people into Naruto so that they wouldn't leave the village.
But didn't Gaara lose control every once in a while? And didn't Gyuki also break out of the seal and was later subdued by the Third Raikage?
Even so, their ninjas didn't leave the village.
Konoha had more civilians, and they could leave because of the situation, but it wouldn't change anything.
Konoha was a military village. It was an army for the Land of Fire. The only reason why it had so many civilians was that it was the strongest village.
In other words, Danzo only did this because he wanted Nine-Tails to lose control, in the process taking Hiruzen's life or at least cripple him so that he could become Hokage.
That was his goal all along. Unfortunately, it didn't work. And now, he was the most wanted criminal of Konoha.
Not only he was considered shame of Konoha but now there was an entire movie coming out to just ridicule his existence.
After three months, Danzo realized that if Naruto wanted to kill him, he could easily find him.
He believed that, with the malice he had against Naruto, there was no reason for Naruto to find him.
But the fact that Naruto was doing nothing to kill him, even not using his Anbu to search for him, made Danzo see a bigger scheme.
'That brat! He is not satisfied with killing me. He wants to destroy my reputation.'
Danzo's rage was helpless. He could bang his head, cry out, but he couldn't go out to fight Naruto.
"Lord Danzo, there has been some success with that experiment."
A Root Ninja approached Danzo and spoke.
Danzo nodded and followed him to a special room. There were only four people inside. Overall, Danzo only had seven people.
He wanted to get more, but Naruto had already killed or subdued most of his people. He wanted to get more orphans, but he couldn't leave this place.
"Lord Danzo, our experiment is working. We've made successful contact with the Underworld, but if we want to summon anything resting in the Underworld, we need more Chakra."
"How about the Chakra from the First Hokage's Cells?"
Danzo looked at his researcher and asked.
"It won't work. The number of cells we have is barely enough to create the creature itself."
"So, this experiment has no meaning for me?"
Danzo's eyes darkened.
"That's not it! The creature will be able to grow bigger and stronger by devouring others' Chakra thanks to those cells."
"More importantly, since the creature comes from the Underworld, it wouldn't be a normal creature."
"My calculations are all correct. We just need more Chakra."
The researcher hurriedly shook his head and tried to explain.
Danzo gave him a stern look and said.
"I need something that can increase my strength immediately. Abduct a few people and use them to multiply the number of Hashirama Cells we have."
"Complete your experiment, but find another way to increase my strength, understand?"
"Yes, Lord Danzo!"
The researcher felt the pressure in his soul from Danzo's gaze.
Danzo turned towards his other root members and said.
"Go get a few people!"
