Chapter 1 - The Immortal's Dream

What emotions should a terminally ill person feel?

Fear? Desperation? Loneliness?

Probably...

"I'm really sorry for Su Mingyue. The tests showed that the tumor in the brain turned out to be malignant, at a late stage, where the operation would no longer have any effect on treatment"

"You're going to die soon!"

At the very moment when the doctor said that I was terminally ill and would die soon, there was no panic, no fear, no despair.

Just a light sigh.

Su Mingyue shook his head slightly and sighed softly without changing his expression.

"I see... Is it time for me to go to a lawyer to prepare a will?"

"Um..." the doctor muttered dryly.

Chu Qianying had been working in the hospital for years, and every time she told a patient that he was going to die soon, she watched as people were overcome by emotions such as fear and panic.

Even though life is short, everyone wants to live it as long as possible.

However.

Looking at the young man, about twenty-four years old, she did not know what to say. It usually takes quite a long time to accept that you are terminally ill, but in this situation, Su Mingyue accepted it instantly.

Even his expression didn't change.

And this confused Chu Qianying.

Why doesn't he cling to life?

"No, not really. You misunderstood" Chu Qianying spoke up again, interrupting the patient's pessimistic words."Your illness can be cured. First, I'll prescribe you a monthly course" With these words, the doctor took out several packs of pills of different colors from under the table.

"For a month, you should take one tablet in the morning and evening, and after a month you will take tests again and based on the results, we will come up with further treatment steps"

"Good..."

After returning to his rented apartment, Su Mingyue threw the pills aside and silently lit a cigarette.

"I wonder how long I can last?"

After putting out his cigarette, Su Mingyue stared at his own reflection in the mirror.

Purple, indifferent eyes.

Jet-black hair.

An athletic body and an appearance that could be classified as first-class.

To the left and right of his figure, you could see a lot of leaflets pasted on the walls in which there were inscriptions in large fonts.

Smile!

Give up? Don't you dare admit defeat!

Failure is just a step back!

Many different sentences, seemingly motivational speeches, said that Su Mingyue had a long-term depression.

In the eyes of outsiders, he could be seen as an unemployed, aspiring young man, but only Su Mingyue himself understood the difficulties he had endured over the past twenty-four years.

A difficult childhood.

Having grown up without a family, parents, or a loved one to rely on at least a little.

Sudden career growth as well as his precipitous fall to the bottom.

Several successive betrayals from people for whom one could give one's own life, in his early opinion.

And now a brain tumor.

Even a psychologist couldn't say that this black streak would end at some point. Every hour or minute in the small room was filled with unhappiness.

It was as if an evil fate was following Su Mingyue's footsteps.

After taking off his clothes and leaning back on the bed, Su Mingyue closed his eyes, and soon he fell asleep.

The soft rays of the sun that had seeped into the room slowly disappeared, announcing the arrival of night.

"Boss, we're surrounded!"

"Boss, what should we do?"

"To hell with him, as long as the righteous cultivators deal with him, we'll have a chance to escape!"

The various sounds of explosions, male and female screams, chants, and plaintive pleas intertwined in a single whisper, followed by a shrill and excited voice in Su Mingyue's ears.

"Bastard, you have nowhere to run!"

After a few seconds, Su Mingyue finally snapped back to reality.

Ha!

"Damn, it hurts..." Spitting out a mouthful of scarlet blood, Su Mingyue's knees buckled and he fell to all fours, before seeing what was happening, a glint of a cold blade flashed in his eyes, which severed his head from his shoulders with incredible speed.

"We won!"

"The old demon is dead, now the Southern Region can breathe a sigh of relief"

"I got my revenge..."

The strange, excited screams became fainter and fainter.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

After waking up on the bed, Su Mingyue began to take in air greedily. The blood on his palms and the embrace of death from a few moments ago were still clearly felt.

"It's just a nightmare... It's just a nightmare..." He repeated to himself twice, trying to contain the murmur of his heart and the uncontrollable trembling of his body.

The dream seemed so real, as if there were no boundaries between reality and imagination.

"To think it's only been a couple of hours..." Looking at the time, Su Mingyue sighed.

The nightmare seemed to have discouraged all desire to sleep, Su Mingyue picked up the laptop and sat comfortably in an armchair, turned it on with a slight nostalgia and opened a text document.

"All my previous books were unfinished and ended at the beginning of the story, perhaps only at the end of this meaningless life, something worthwhile will turn out?" After tapping his temple a few times in a familiar manner, Su Mingyue began to think about the upcoming plot.

"Nonsense... Pattern... Not popular..." He muttered softly, sometimes typing a few sentences and deleting them at the same speed.

Two hours later, not a single line had been written. Every idea was quickly rejected, as if everything he could come up with was just garbage.

"Readers need something completely new... Something that could interest them from the first chapter..."

A random fragment of memories flashed through Su Mingyue's mind.

Without letting the thought out of his head, he instantly typed one sentence.

[Chapter 1. The Immortal's Dream]

"If you use yourself as the prototype of the main male character, and write out what is happening in the story from a nightmare, the plot can be quite good..." Su Mingyue thought, recalling the small details of the last dream.

"The character in the nightmare was clearly not a good guy, more like a villain. The people who killed him were aiming for revenge or some kind of righteousness, that by eradicating evil they would bring peace..." He mused, not noticing how his fingertips were trembling slightly.

"And this is clearly a cruel world where the weak have no place to live..."

There wasn't enough information.

Few characters, the structure of the world, and what the future direction was unknown.

However, due to the fact that Su Mingyue was not an amateur but a professional writer, after finalizing the plot and processing the main character, a full-fledged first chapter was released.

After reading the text a few more times, he nodded in satisfaction.
