"After this class ends, each of you will be facing a crippled Radiant in a controlled environment. You'll have basic protective gear and a standard-issue combat knife. The goal is to kill the Radiant before it regenerates enough to become dangerous."
Vogue 's face turned even paler and he looked like a ghost at this time. "Wait a —
The Teacher didn't let him finish his words as she continued.
"Since you're so confident, Vogue , you'll go first and battle three Radiants bravely."
The class chuckled at the same time. Even facing one crippled Radiant was considered extremely dangerous. Two was basically a death sentence for a student who hadn't even taken the OSYMPIC Test yet.
"Wait! Let me tell you some—" Vogue wanted to kneel and beg but the teacher immediately glared at him and he knew if he said something else, it would be even worse.
Teacher Raine turned back to the rest of the class, her massive chest once again resting on the lectern as she continued her lecture as if nothing had happened.
"Now, where was I? Ah yes. Radiants are divided into various realms with each realm containing 9 stages. Savage radiants, Mutated Radiants, Fiendblood Radiants and others, the same as the realms of we Silver Knights. As I was saying…"
'I'm dead! I really am dead this time!' Vogue smiled bitterly as he slumped in his chair, his eyes hollow. Just one sleep and the punishment is death? What kind of place did he come to?
He suddenly felt someone kick his chair from behind.
"Hahaha! You idiot!"
"I had been thinking about killing you all this time. I didn't think you'd go and rape the Grim Reaper's mother. I can't wait to watch you die! Hahaha!"
Vogue immediately recognized who the person was. It was Gerald. His father was an actual Half-Moon Silver Knight and a top guard in this Third Ring. This gave Gerald confidence and pride to bully anyone he wished.
Moreover, Vogue was best friend with the girl he liked which made him hate Vogue even more.
He had tried bullying Vogue a couple time. But anytime Gerald punches or beats Vogue up, he didn't get the response he expected.
"More! More!"
"Haven't you eaten today?"
"Have you really activated 50 percent of your cells?"
There's words always comes out from. Vogue s mouth, triggering Gerald even more but since it was forbidden to kill fellow humans, Gerald would simply give up after being tired and leave.
Hearing Gerald's words from behind, Vogue rolled his eyes. "Stupid!" And then ignored the angry bastard.
Vogue tried to focus on Teacher Raine's lecture, but his mind kept wandering. How the hell was he supposed to kill three Radiants? The original Vogue 's memories showed that he had zero combat experience. The current Vogue had even less, his only fighting experience was beating his meat and that doesn't even last for long either!
This was bad. This was really, really bad.
As Teacher Raine droned on about the different evolutionary stages of Radiants, Vogue 's mind raced through possibilities.
Maybe he could fake being sick? No, with Teacher Raine's mindset, she would just postpone it and probably add another Radiant as punishment.
Could he run away? Also no. The outer ring walls were so high that it seemed like a mountain.
As for the skies, they had been locked down by a device called Skynet, creating a forcefield around the ring or walls to lock down the skies as well.
"Sigh, maybe I should just give up and commit suicide."
"Mr. Morningster."
Vogue 's head snapped up. Teacher Raine was staring at him again.
"Since you seem distracted, perhaps you can answer this question for the class. What is the primary weakness of a level 2 Savage Radiant?"
Vogue frantically searched through the original Vogue 's memories. He knew this. The original Vogue had studied this obsessively.
"Their… their heart?" he ventured.
"Be specific," Teacher Raine snapped.
"The solar core, located two inches below their heart. If destroyed, the Radiant dies immediately regardless of its regeneration capabilities."
Teacher Raine looked mildly surprised, though she hid it quickly.
"Correct. And how does one destroy this core?"
"Through…" Vogue swallowed. "Through direct penetration with a blade or projectile. The core is usually protected by a reinforced bone structure, so it requires significant force to pierce through."
"Also correct." Teacher Raine adjusted her glasses. "Perhaps you weren't completely asleep after all. However, knowing the theory and executing it in practice are two very different things, as you'll discover very soon."
As soon as he heard the words, Vogue wanted to slam his head on the table and just die rather than embarrass himself in front of everyone.
The lecture continued for another hour. Teacher Raine covered the different stages of Radiant evolution, their behavioral patterns, their strengths and weaknesses, and the proper techniques for combat against them.
"Radiants are dangerous. They can be both in human form and in beastly form. Luckily, once you awaken 100 percent of your cells, you will instinctively be able to sense Radiants."
"This concludes your final orientation session before the test," Teacher Raine announced and continued.
"Now, I want everyone to stand and move in an orderly manner toward the Crescent Stadium where you will participate in your practical exercise with live Radiants. Remember to stay calm, no matter what you see."
Hearing her last words, everyone took a glance at Vogue whose face was quite pale at this moment.
The students stood up from their seat and in an orderly fashion and in a single file, walked out of the class room and headed towards the Crescent Stadium.
Aries Star School wasn't considered the largest academy in the entire Terragrave Megacity.
However, it was one of the largest secondary school in the entire Third Ring and of course it's a government owned public school.
The entire academy was the size of a small city with lots and lots of students within the academy.
Today was the day Senior Class 3 would slaughter Radiant beasts to mentally prepare themselves.
It had only been an hour since Teacher Raine first announced this practical exercise to the class, yet somehow word had already spread like wildfire through the entire school.
