Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Ide: Coach, I Want to Learn Magic!

"So beautiful."

Ide looked at the magic circle in Ur's hand, revealing a look of obsession and yearning akin to someone admiring a work of art.

Compared to the exquisite, cold azure magic circle in Ur's hand, the pentagram magic circles used by the Five Elders appeared both monotonous and crude.

"Ahem."

Ur didn't know if Ide was talking about the magic circle in her hand or complimenting her. Regardless, her pretty face blushed slightly. She waved her hand to put away the magic circle and said softly, "The prerequisite for learning magic is that you must first have a healthy body!"

"It won't be too late for me to teach you magic once the injuries on your body are completely healed..."

Ur did not teach Ide magic right away.

Magic is something where haste makes waste; it requires step-by-step improvement.

"I understand."

"I will rest well."

Hearing this, Ide nodded to Ur.

Indeed, Ur was telling the truth. His current condition was not very good, and he was certainly not fit to cultivate something as advanced as magic.

"As long as you understand."

Seeing this, Ur breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, Ide wasn't the type of bitter, desperate person who would risk his life learning magic just for revenge.

Living in the Kingdom of Isvan all these years, Ur had seen too many such suffering people. She had no resistance against these bitter souls and always helped whenever she could.

Unfortunately, magic requires talent. Not everyone is suitable for cultivating it.

Therefore, Ur had seen the look of despair on too many people's faces after their dreams were shattered. She didn't want to see that expression on Ide's face.

Well, anyway, it was mostly because Ide was very handsome.

"Ur, it's bad!"

"Bandits have invaded the town! The mayor asked me to find you to help immediately."

Just as Ur and Ide were talking, the door to Ur's wooden house was suddenly pushed open with force. A beautiful girl with short blonde hair and fair skin rushed in hurriedly, pleading for help from Ur in an urgent tone.

"Bandits?"

"They really are a lawless bunch!"

"I got it."

"Anyway, Susan, you stay here and help me take care of Ide. I'll be right back."

Before Ur could finish her sentence, she left the wooden house and ran toward the town not far away.

"Your name is Ide, right?"

"From now on, let me take care of you."

"As for Ur, you can rest assured."

"Trust me, those bandits will definitely not be Ur's match!"

"Don't let Ur's young age fool you; she is the strongest Mage in our Kingdom of Isvan."

Susan, with her blonde hair, slowly approached the small bed where Ide lay. She looked at Ide on the bed with a smile and spoke.

It seemed that in Susan's view, as long as Ur was invited out to deal with the bandits, all problems would be easily solved.

In Susan's heart, and in the hearts of everyone in the town, Ur held such a status.

"Bandits?"

Ide frowned. He glanced at his beloved blade at his waist and thought to himself, Perhaps it's time to move around a bit. I'll consider it rehabilitation training.

In the Town.

"Jie jie jie!"

"Listen up! Hand over all the food, money, and women in your town immediately!"

"Otherwise, I will destroy the entire town and slaughter every last one of you."

Having ravaged several small towns, the notorious "Evil Bandit" of the kingdom, Barclay, sat atop a massive Magic Beast the size of a two-story building, surrounded by hundreds of subordinates, laughing loudly.

It seemed that in Barclay's eyes, this town he had set his sights on was already a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

"It's still not too late to leave here now."

"Otherwise, Ur will definitely not let you robbers off!"

The town mayor, an old man over seventy with a white beard, stood before Barclay. Withstanding the immense pressure and ignoring the oppression brought by the massive, building-sized Magic Beast before him, he spoke coldly.

"Ur?"

"Are you talking about that Ice Mage, Ur Milkovich, who is famous throughout the entire kingdom?"

Barclay looked at the mayor with a face full of shock and asked.

"Exactly."

"Since you know how powerful Ur is, why don't you hurry up and get out of my town?"

The mayor breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed Ur's name was still effective.

"Hahaha!"

Barclay didn't give the mayor a chance to speak further. He laughed loudly, a look of mockery in his eyes, and said coldly, "Old man, how do you know we didn't bring countermeasures against Ur this time?"

"W-What?!"

The mayor was stunned by Barclay's words, and an ominous premonition rose in his heart.

"Interesting."

"I'd actually like to see how you plan to target me."

Right at this moment, a female voice filled with murderous intent rang out from above Barclay. An infinite chill spread from the top of Barclay's head down to the soles of his feet, causing him to shudder involuntarily.

"You are..."

Barclay looked up and saw a young woman with a beautiful face and short hair standing on a roof not far away, looking down at him coldly with a grim gaze.

"It's Ur!"

"Ur has come to save us!"

When the townspeople looked up and saw the heroic and dashing young woman, they cried out in surprise one after another, revealing expressions of finally being saved.

"You are Ur Milkovich?!"

"The strongest Mage in this kingdom?"

Barclay glared angrily at Ur in the distance. Mixing shock and fear in his heart, he questioned loudly.

"That is correct."

Ur kept a calm face and acknowledged her identity.

"You guys, get her!"

After confirming that the person before him was indeed the famous Ur, Barclay immediately signaled his minions to defeat her.

"Huh?"

"Me? Fight Ur?"

"Boss, that's Ur!"

"The strongest Mage in the kingdom."

Barclay's minions weren't fools. This was obviously a suicide mission, and they didn't plan on doing it.

"Cut the crap!"

"No matter how loud her reputation is, she's just an eighteen or nineteen-year-old little girl!"

"Listen, whoever can take this girl down, I will reward him with a bonus of three million J!"

Barclay looked at his own minions with disappointment and roared.

"Three million J?"

"With that much money..."

As the saying goes, "Men die for wealth, birds die for food!" When the bandits present heard the "three million J" reward, their eyes held nothing else but the desire for money.

"Let's attack together!"

"The Boss is right, she's just a little girl. With so many of us, are we afraid of her?"

Driven by the desire for money, hundreds of bandits launched a group attack toward Ur.

"Heh."

"So what if there are many of you?!"

"Just a disorderly mob."

Seeing this, the corners of Ur's mouth lifted slightly, a sneer in her eyes. She clenched her right hand into a fist and smashed it into her left palm, assuming the stance for the magic she excelled at most, and said softly:

"Ice-Make..."
