Chapter 1 - The Compendium of Creation

"Good morning Saville!"

"Yes, good morning to you too Apollo."

Walking through the library as usual, Apollo explores the numerous books lined up on the shelves. Some books were grand, others more simple; It is said that one should not judge a book by its cover but by the contents of it's pages, however, one book in the far corner of the library was the apparent exception. The old leather backing that adorned the book was tattered and damaged, some pages darkened with dirt and others with ripped corners. One look at that book and the thought that its not worth the read is the immediate reaction.

Apollo noticed this book one day and like all the others he dissuaded himself from reading it, however unlike most, his frequent visits over the past decade had finally given him the courage and motivation to pick out that book and take it home.

"Hey Saville, could I borrow this book?"

"Yes, of course you ca... where did you find this?"

"It was at the far corner towards the back of the library."

"Is that so?, well we don't have any logs of that book being in here. someone must have left their own book or something. you can just take it."

"Seriously?, damn... that's pretty insane. I'll happily take it for safekeeping. Thanks a bunch Saville!"

"No worries kid. Just try and enjoy whatever it is."

Placing the book in his backpack, Apollo left the library and went home for the day. Before he arrived home he stopped by a convenience store and purchased himself a cola, stashing it in the side pocket of his bag after taking a swig.

Arriving home, Apollo used his keys and opened the door. No cars were in the driveway so it seemed his parents weren't home, and his assumption was confirmed when breathing in the homely smell and not hearing a peep from inside the home. Apollo went in, closing the door behind him and locking it. Going up to his room, he took off his bag and sat at the foot of his bed, undoing its zip.

Lo and behold, the book was within. Apollo took it out and placed it by his bedside, the cola right beside it.

*I should wash up before I start reading... I hope its in my language.*

Apollo gets up and heads to the bathroom to take a steamy shower, then dries himself off and wraps himself into a towel and heads back to his room. He get on the bed resting on his side; taking up the book and dusting it off a tad.

*Guess I should start giving this a read*

Apollo opens the book and sees a runic script of some sort.

*what the... I don't know these symbols at all; but I can somehow understand it when I read it??.*

"let... there... be... light?"

SHOOOM

A flood of light is emitted by the book and envelopes Apollo as he feels himself getting pulled in.

The room grows quiet and the world Apollo once inhabited now has forgotten his existence.
