Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Poor Life!

Daniel Miller sat alone on the rooftop, smoking in boredom. He wondered how many people were secretly making all kinds of deals in this brightly lit city. He had been married for two years, but his wife couldn't conceive because of the many abortions she'd had before marriage—it was ironic. He'd spent his parents' savings and his own hard-earned money of over $5000 to marry this worthless woman.

Since graduating from university, he'd been constantly searching for work, naively believing that college graduates were the elite of society. Later, he discovered that he didn't even earn as much as a skilled worker.

After much difficulty, he finally managed to get a job as a report clerk at a securities company in Azura City. His monthly salary of just over $500 was the envy of many in his impoverished village.

However, in this materialistic metropolis, he couldn't save any money. Approaching 25, he was introduced to a girl by someone. The young woman seemed quite naive, and Daniel knew he was poor; he was already grateful to have found a wife. He begged his grandfather for over$5,000 before finally marrying her. But soon after, he discovered she was a repeatedly sold, unsold property, leaving him increasingly frustrated.

Later, Daniel stopped returning to his rented apartment, which was barely 20 square meters and essentially his "family property." His wife seemed to think she'd only married him to sell herself, ignoring his absences.

During that time, Daniel became addicted to gambling and lost all his savings. Seeing this, the company fired him. His wife, whom he'd bought for over $5,000, disappeared the moment Daniel fell into poverty. Later, the neighbors, unable to bear seeing Daniel drinking and wasting his days, told him that while Daniel was away, they'd been seeing different men for several nights, infuriating Daniel!

He thought, "If I'd spent that $5,000 on prostitutes, at least it would have helped me get rid of my kidney deficiency. It's such a waste to throw it away on this worthless woman!"

[Through a solid kick to a cane]

" God, you can't play this cruel trick on me!"

After downing more than ten bottles of beer, Daniel roared. The downstairs neighbors immediately opened their windows and yelled, "What the hell are you yelling about in the middle of the night?!"

"Young man, talk it out calmly! Don't do anything rash!" At that moment, a middle-aged man's voice, as loud as an ox, came from behind, startling Daniel so much that his legs trembled and he fell backward.

"Young man!" The middle-aged man was so frightened when he saw Daniel fall from the building that he ran over to him.

"Damn it, why are you yelling like a baby if you don't want to die?! I'll haunt you even as a ghost!"

Even as Daniel fell from the eleventh floor, he still had the mind to curse.

The news broke the following day: a college graduate from a rural area, feeling immense pressure in Azura City, jumped to his death from his rented apartment last night. Experts stated that the increasingly fast pace of life, coupled with the immense pressure of finding employment for college graduates, was the cause of this incident. Experts reminded everyone to seek timely psychological counseling and provide necessary emotional relief.

"Brother! Brother! Get up quickly, you're going to be late!"

In a blur, he heard his sister's voice. Hadn't I fallen from the roof? At this point, he'd probably be crippled if not dead. His sister was still farming back home; how could she have gotten here so quickly?

He opened his eyes and was immediately startled. How did he end up sleeping in his old family home's dilapidated house? Was he dreaming? Thinking this, Daniel raised his fist. Ouch! It really hurt. It seemed he wasn't dreaming. Had he encountered a ghost?

"Brother, stop sleeping in! I'm going to school now."

A stunningly cute girl stood at the door, pouting slightly. She had bright, flawless eyes, smooth, delicate skin, and naturally deep red cherry lips without makeup. Two adorable little tiger teeth radiated youthful energy. Wasn't this my famously beautiful younger sister, known throughout the surrounding area? But why was she wearing a middle school uniform? She should have graduated high school by now.

"Brother! Are you crazy?"

The little girl took a step forward and, seeing her brother looking blankly, curiously approached him and asked, "Little sister, what day of the week is it today?" The long-lost rustic charm and simple honesty she exuded calmed Daniel's mind a little, and he immediately pretended to be nonchalant and asked, "Little sister, what day of the week is it today?"

"Brother, are you still half asleep? He just started eighth grade yesterday, he can't have a fever, can he?"

After speaking, she placed her small hand on Daniel's forehead and touched it. The girl's fragrance immediately filled Daniel's nose. Having experienced the hustle and bustle of the big city, Daniel could no longer look at this beautiful young woman with a normal heart. Looking at the girl's slightly rounded breasts, like white steamed buns, so close to him, he couldn't help but feel a stirring of desire.

"It's alright! Little sister, you go to school first! I'm not feeling well today."

Daniel tried his best to stop the blood rushing towards the sea surface, took a deep breath, and said calmly.

"Okay, I'll go now. Mom and Dad are going to work in the fields, so you can cook for yourself!"

The younger sister, unsuspecting, said something and then went to school, swinging her braids.
