Synopsis
The transmigrator Bai Ye awakens a “Heaven Rewards Diligence” system: every skill on his status panel has proficiency, and any real training steadily turns into growth—effort in, power out. But the real cheat is AFK mode: the system provides three AFK slots. Whether it’s a talent trait or an ability trait, once slotted in, it will generate continuous gains automatically, letting him stockpile progress even when he’s not actively grinding. He assumes that’s the whole blessing—until, years later, an invitation arrives from a cross-dimensional mutual-aid chat group, linking him to people from entirely different worlds… and opening the door to even bigger opportunities (and chaos).

Chapter 1 - Chapter 001: A Certain Hyperdimensional Mutual-Aid Group

Fuyuki City.

A small coastal city in central Honshu, Japan.

A river called the Mion River ran from south to north straight through the city, splitting it into two halves with utterly different vibes.

To the east lay the New City—a modern metropolis that had flourished on the back of rapid economic growth in recent years. Skyscrapers crowded the skyline, neon washed the streets, and the nights were loud and bright.

To the west lay Miyama—Fuyuki's point of origin, where the old look of the town had been preserved. Buildings with decades—sometimes over a century—of history were everywhere.

For example, the Matou residence, built more than a hundred years ago by a family that had moved in from elsewhere and passed down through generations.

"Ah… the errors of this world…"

From a distance, watching the two figures conversing in the courtyard before the Matou gates, Baiye shook his head.

One was a bald, mummified-looking old man in a dark kimono, holding a wooden cane, his body withered as if all moisture had been wrung out of him.

The other had handsome, well-proportioned features and impeccable bearing: an elegant man in a red suit, wearing a blue ribbon bow tie.

Baiye knew exactly what that conversation meant for the little girl standing nearby.

But… fine.

At least the effort he'd spent over the past few days on this matter hadn't been wasted—

…Hm?

What the hell is that?!

A point of light appeared out of nowhere, and Baiye's breath caught.

Had he been discovered?

The point became a line. The line unfolded into a plane.

Under his gaze, it formed into a floating panel suspended in midair.

[Would you like to join the Hyperdimensional Mutual-Aid Group?]

[Yes] / [No]

This…?

Baiye was a man—male—and a transmigrator.

More than seven years ago, on an ordinary day, back when he still lived on another planet that felt both similar to and subtly different from the one beneath his feet now, he'd been walking downstairs when he misstepped.

He fell into some inexplicable boundary-realm, experiencing a freefall that felt both endlessly long and strangely brief.

When his feet touched ground again, he found himself in a forest on Shirainuzuka Slope, Misaki Town, Misaki City.

He had transmigrated—physically. No host body. No possession. Just him.

Once he calmed down and understood what had happened, Baiye sucked in a sharp breath.

Keeping his original form—arriving intact, without borrowing someone else's flesh—was a comfort.

But the problems that inevitably came with physical transmigration…

Like being a complete nobody with no identity in this world…

That was a headache.

As for whether he'd brought along pathogens from "home" that the lifeforms of this world couldn't resist…

After a brief consideration, Baiye decided to shove that worry aside for later.

If it really was an issue, there was nothing he could do about it anyway.

Fortunately, as transmigrators went, he was a textbook case.

During that freefall, some unknown substance leaking from within him gathered and condensed into his "cheat"—a System of Heavenly Reward for Diligence, with an idle-grind function.

Heavenly reward for diligence: you reap what you sow.

Whether talent or ability, once the System judged it, it would be solidified as a "trait" on his panel.

Talent traits aside—

Ability traits were basically game skills.

If you trained, you always gained at least 1 proficiency point. Fill the bar, level up.

As for idle mode—

The trait system came with three idle slots. Whether talent traits or ability traits, you could slot them in and they'd automatically accumulate growth/proficiency at 1 point per second.

With the System's help, Baiye hadn't died at the first stop after landing—Shirainuzuka Forest.

After he figured out the System's rough workings, he managed to integrate into the world and confirm something crucial:

This world was not unfamiliar.

Back where he came from, Chinese internet culture generally called this setting "Type-Moon."

More precisely: the shared world of TYPE-MOON's Fate franchise.

After that, things were simple.

He still didn't know why he'd transmigrated, but he was here—in Type-Moon. That was fact.

If he didn't leverage the "foreknowledge" that came with the transmigrator's perspective—if he didn't try to seize the opportunities in this world that were "fated" to him, or prevent tragedies he'd once only been able to watch helplessly from behind a screen…

Like the fate awaiting a certain girl not far away, about to be thrown into a pit of monsters—

Then what was the point?

He'd assumed that until the day he was strong enough to crush the entire world by force, small-scale meddling like this—done without jeopardizing his own safety—was his limit.

But now…

Maybe there was another variable.

Snapping out of his memories, Baiye glanced back at the Matou residence. The conversation at the gate still hadn't ended.

He tentatively tapped [Yes] on the panel asking whether he wished to join the Hyperdimensional Mutual-Aid Group.

The text refreshed.

[A default nickname has been generated for you: "???"]

(Tip: You may choose your own nickname, but it must have some degree of association with you.)

Three question marks?

What kind of nonsense was that?

Not knowing what this group really was—or what sort of people its members were—entering with a mysterious "???" felt like a good way to get targeted.

After a brief pause, Baiye erased the question marks and typed:

"Newbie."

He'd just received the invitation. Calling himself a newbie in front of the veterans…

Perfectly reasonable.

[Verifying… Verification passed]

[Group Notice: Welcome new member "Newbie" to the Hyperdimensional Mutual-Aid Group]

The panel refreshed again, becoming a chat interface Baiye found intensely familiar.

"Cancer of the Earth": Hm? A newcomer?

"Cancer of the Earth": Welcome, welcome~

"Kasumigaoka Utaha": Another new member, huh… welcome~

"Esdeath": How strong is the newcomer?

"Cancer of the Earth": I knew it would be like this… [facepalm.jpg]

"Esdeath": ?

"Esdeath": Is something wrong?

"Cancer of the Earth": Of course it's wrong!

"Cancer of the Earth": Who asks that the second someone joins?!

"Esdeath": So… I should welcome them first, then ask?

"Cancer of the Earth": …

"Kasumigaoka Utaha": I think Chika's point is you're way too eager.

"Kasumigaoka Utaha": The newcomer just arrived. They might be from a normal world like Chika and me—never seen anything "mysterious" before.

"Kasumigaoka Utaha": If they're the cautious type, one blunt question like that could turn one month of lurking into a year. Or longer.

"Newbie": Before I answer that, could one of the seniors explain what this Hyperdimensional Mutual-Aid Group actually is?

"Cancer of the Earth": Oh! They spoke!

"Cancer of the Earth": No problem. Even if you didn't speak, we would've @'d you and explained the basics anyway.

"Cancer of the Earth": First… if I had to sum it up in one sentence, this group is a chat group that lets those of us in different worlds communicate instantly, beyond the limits of dimensions.

"Cancer of the Earth": Second… want me to introduce everyone in the group?

"Newbie": Yes. Please.
