Chapter 1 - Second Child

Before we start I want to say something's please read.

+ Our protagonist is not reincarnated so in the first chapter he is not going to say shit not even think a thought. Don't be surprised when he starts to understand the language at 2 or 3 years old if I didn't do that we would be stuck with a mute main character.

+ Don't worry rudeus still exists. Our protagonist is going to be one year older then him.

+Let's say you're asking if there is going to be romance my answer is I don't fucking know. What I can tell you is that "(our protagonist)" isn't going to steal Rudeus future wife's.

Thanks for reading.

As the parents looked at their newborn second son, each of them had very different thoughts. The mother was already imagining all the baby paintings she would create of him, while the father was thinking about something entirely different.

The baby looked up at them with his bright red eyes, calm and cute.

The father cleared his throat. "From now on, you shall be called Sky Dragon Osiris."

Before the name could settle into the room, a female voice interrupted him.

"Don't you think that name sounds too dangerous? Let's call him Teddy."

"I don't think we should call him Teddy, wife. What if he gets bullied because of that name?"

"No one who tries to bully Teddy in front of me will walk away unpunished."

The midwife, who had been silently observing what she privately called a disaster of parenting, sighed. "I think Osiris is a good name. Don't you think it suits him? With his blood red hair from his father and those sparkling red eyes from his mother, it fits."

The mother thought about it carefully while the father silently prayed she would agree.

"Fine," she said at last. "But only because he already has a brother with a cute name."

Both the midwife and the father relaxed. For a brief moment, they both thought about the poor older brother, who had not been given such an intense name at birth.

"I should get going," said the midwife. "Good luck, Clara." She smiled at the mother. "And you too, Karma."

After she left the room and then the house the parents remained, still excited about the new life now part of their home.

The father gently picked up the little boy and left the room, allowing his wife to rest. She still couldn't walk properly and clearly needed sleep.

Suddenly, another boy came running toward him.

"Ah! There you are," the father laughed. "Come look at your new little brother."

The older brother stared at the baby, smiling. "Why does he look so cute? I don't think this is my brother… maybe my sister?"

The father laughed. "I was thinking the same thing. But I also think he has the potential to become fierce just like me."

Meanwhile, the baby simply rested in his father's arms, staring at the world he would grow up in.

Even though he was only a newborn and understood nothing, something inside him felt that his life would be exciting.

As the sun began to set, the house grew darker.

"Can you get a candle from my desk?" the father asked the older son.

"Yes, Father!" the boy answered as if he had been given a sacred mission.

He sprinted up the stairs as fast as he could, passing the room where his mother rested and the bedroom he would soon share with his little brother.

On the way back down, he slipped.

For a brief second, time seemed to stop.

"In the name of the Sovereign Sky,

Gather, restless winds, and heed my call.

Spiral forth and strike

Wind Blast!"

He almost hit the floor but a power that can't be seen but can be sensed held him in place.

"Thanks for the help father." Exclaimed the son.

"Can you please stop falling down the stairs?" the father sighed. "That's the tenth time this week and it's only Monday. I don't want to call the healer again."

"Sorry… but light the candle already! I can't see anything!"

"Let the vast and blessed flame converge at thy command! O raging fire, offer us a gift! Fireball!"

The father snapped his fingers, and a flame appeared on the candle lighting it, the hole room light up.

The baby watched.

Unimpressed.

As if it wasn't enough.

Or perhaps not entertaining enough.

Later, as the father prepared dinner for his two sons, his thoughts turned darker. If someone had seen his face at that moment, they might have been frightened. He looked depressed I have so much work to do for tomorrow.

Why can't I just quit? he screamed silently in his mind. We already have enough money.

Then he thought about his wife.

She would never allow it.

The idea disappeared instantly.

"Father! Why are you taking so long? I want to sleep already!" the older boy shouted.

The father gave him a look that clearly said: I know you don't actually want to sleep.

The boy avoided eye contact and stared at the wall instead.

Why can't I at least have a drink maybe wine? the father thought but he already knew the answer before finishing the thought.

He placed the plates on the large, expensive table.

"Before you drink the soup," the father warned, "it's still very hot, so you should…"

The boy took a sip.

He immediately burned his mouth.

The father closed his eyes.

"…wait."

After dinner, the father sighed deeply. "I guess I have to feed a newborn again… after four years."

"Now you can go to sleep," he said.

The older brother carefully picked up the baby and ran up the stairs again.

"Don't slip!" the father shouted.

"No promises!" the older brother called back.

What the fuck do you mean no promises? the father thought in horror. Your brother could die!

"I'm too old for this…"

In their room, both brothers looked out the window one by choice, the other because he was being held there.

"Look," the older brother whispered. "That big one is our moon. They say our planet is the center of the universe… but I don't believe that. One day, I'm going to prove them wrong."

The baby didn't understand a single word.

But he listened anyway.

Soon, one brother closed his eyes.

The other followed.

A faint light appeared behind the door.

At least it wasn't…

a mistake.
