...

Second floor loft of the Good Hunter.

Ever since the restaurant's original owner transferred most of the shares to Jensen, this place had very naturally been renovated into his personal residence in Mondstadt.

Jensen, nineteen years old.

Certified pretty boy.

Self certified, anyway.

Still, the fact that he was this popular with girls as a freshman in college was probably proof enough in his mind.

Jensen stretched lazily and walked out of the loft.

Following the idea of an open kitchen and to better attract customers, Good Hunter's kitchen was always set up outside. Mondstadters also liked eating at the outdoor stalls, so diners inside the restaurant were actually fewer in comparison.

But even so, at lunchtime, the place should not have been like this, completely empty, not a single customer in sight.

"Stormterror has been getting more and more agitated lately."

Jensen muttered under his breath. There was a faint hint of anticipation in his tone. "It should be about time, right, otherworldly Traveler?"

The moment the words left his mouth, a voice drifted over from the four seat table behind him.

"What's about to happen? Isn't Jensen the one who came from another world?"

"?"

Jensen turned around.

A girl in a pristine white cleric dress, wearing a matching nun's cap, was kneeling on a wooden bench. Her black little dress shoes were placed neatly to one side, and her feet, wrapped snugly in warm white stockings, were resting on the bench as her hands rubbed at her calves.

Her cute, delicate face scrunched up from time to time when she pressed a sore spot in her muscles, revealing a fleeting look of pain.

"Barbara?"

Jensen blinked, his just woken up mood instantly soaring.

Don't ask.

If you ask, the answer is simple, she is extremely cute.

"When did you get here, Barbara?"

"Just now."

Barbara continued to knead her calf as she spoke. "Jensen, waking up at noon is way too lazy, you know."

"You're setting the bar a bit high for an ordinary citizen, aren't you?"

"For someone acknowledged by both the people of Mondstadt and the Knights of Favonius, Jensen should work even harder and be a role model."

"Yes, yes, Your Holiness is absolutely right."

Jensen spread his hands helplessly. "I'm guessing things are going to get busy very soon anyway."

"You mean because of Stormterror?"

Barbara's blue eyes, clear as a lake, fixed on him, filled with expectation. "Has Jensen already found a way to deal with Stormterror?"

"It's not up to me to decide."

Jensen shook his head, choosing not to answer directly.

The fact that Stormterror was growing more violent only proved that the Abyss Order's activities were becoming more frequent. That meant the "prince" or "princess" should be almost in place. The last one of the two, whichever remained, was the real key to resolving this crisis.

Jensen had already been waiting here for a full year.

You could not control something like getting transmigrated. If you arrived too early, what were you supposed to do about it?

He was honestly pretty frustrated too.

If it were not for familiar faces like Barbara, Jean, Kaeya, Diluc and the others, he would not even know how he was supposed to get through the days.

"Speaking of which, Barbara, running over here at noon like this, aren't you afraid Sister Rosaria will scold you?"

Jensen asked casually.

"Ah! You absolutely cannot tell Sister Rosaria."

Barbara waved her hands in a panic.

"So you came here despite the risk of being scolded by Sister Rosaria?"

"Well, um, the lunch at the church today was a bit too light..."

Barbara poked her fingers together, her gaze drifting of its own accord toward the independent stovetop upstairs that had no sign of cooking fire. She swallowed, just a little audibly.

Jensen chuckled and gave her a gentle head pat. "What do you want to eat?"

That stove had been specially made after he moved in, commissioned from the blacksmith Wagner. There was no way he was going to cook whatever he wanted down at the outdoor kitchen in front of so many pedestrians and customers every time he felt like eating something.

"It'll stunt my growth."

Barbara muttered under her breath, but compared to that worry, Jensen's question clearly had a stronger pull on her heart.

"Mapo tofu!"

She answered immediately.

"Money?"

Jensen asked again.

Barbara's soft lips pressed together in distress. Reluctantly, she fished ten Mora out of her pocket.

"Hahaha!"

Jensen nearly doubled over with laughter. "So stingy."

You had to know, the cheapest Teyvat Fried Egg at Good Hunter cost 200 Mora, let alone a dish like mapo tofu that did not even appear on the official menu.

"That's all I have on me!"

"Next time I'll treat Jensen to lunch at the church instead."

Barbara's pretty face flushed bright red as she shouted.

Any more than this and she really would not be able to bring herself to splurge on mapo tofu.

"Alright, alright."

Jensen took the money.

From what he knew, Barbara, born into a noble family, was definitely a little rich girl. He really wanted to see what her piggy bank looked like.

Jensen went over to light the fire. While the stove was heating up, he opened the window and called down, "Sara, bring some tofu up here."

"Yes, boss!"

Sara answered from the stall below.

She hurried up carrying a small box of tofu, unable to resist complaining, "Boss, there have been a lot fewer travelers and merchants lately. Our business has dropped quite a bit."

Good Hunter's main customers were outsiders. The locals of Mondstadt only came by occasionally for a meal.

"With Stormterror roaming near Mondstadt, of course merchants and travelers are too scared to come."

Jensen nodded in understanding.

As he spoke, his hands were already moving, chopping Jueyun Chilis into fine pieces. The pungent, spicy aroma began to spread through the room.

Barbara sniffed the air, her eyes sparkling. She could not help but trot closer to watch him cook.

Her hands clasped behind her back, her white stocking clad feet rose on tiptoe on the wooden floor, the hem of her skirt swaying lightly as she began to hum a gentle, lovely tune.
