Chapter 3 - Conducting a Paternity Test Again

Luo Suisui was eager to prove something. "Dad, do you believe me? Su Wanwan said she took my white jade necklace and gained a spatial dimension."

With that, she put away the 1.6-meter-long table in front of Luo Wenyao.

"Shall we get a paternity test done?" Luo Suisui asked cautiously, her eyes filled with heartbreak.

Luo Wenyao was heartbroken. He rushed forward and hugged her. "Suisui, be good, don't cry. Dad believes you."

He hadn't believed it when he received the news. After going there, he personally watched the doctor perform the procedure, and the result was that Su Wanwan was indeed their biological daughter.

But now he believed Suisui's words; the daughter he and Rong'er had raised wouldn't lie to them.

Hearing her father's voice now, like when he was a child soothing her to sleep, Luo Suisui's long-suppressed sorrow and pain instantly burst forth, and she cried loudly in his arms.

Luo Wenyao felt as if a knife was stabbing into his heart. His daughter, a senior in college about to graduate, had always been spoiled and pampered.

If it were merely a dream, her usually clear and bright eyes would never have shown despair, regret, grief, or ruthless cruelty.

Moreover, a nightmare couldn't be recounted so clearly; there was only one possibility: she had personally experienced it.

Thinking this, a ruthless glint flashed across Luo Wenyao's refined face.

Under his soothing words, Luo Suisui finally calmed down. She didn't think there was anything wrong with telling her father about the space, because after the apocalypse, many people had killed strange plants and monsters, and various spatial containers had also dropped.

"Dad, let's get a paternity test, okay?" Luo Suisui asked persistently again.

Luo Wenyao patted her head. "Okay, but Suisui has to go have lunch with me first, then we'll go, okay?"

He didn't disbelieve Suisui's words; he just wanted to understand what was going on.

At the dinner table, Luo Suisui looked at the long-awaited food and felt even hungrier. After sitting down, she silently buried her head in her food, maintaining some table manners despite wanting to eat.

Luo Wenyao noticed she was eating much faster than usual, as if she hadn't had a proper meal in a long time. She usually ate very little, never like this,

so heartbroken .

After a while, Luo Sui Sui looked at the news on TV and said, "Dad, in my dream, Mount Cherry Blossom in R country was going to erupt tonight. If it erupts, does that mean my dream will come true?"

Luo Wenyao poured her a glass of milk and replied, "If it really erupts, then we need to prepare early."

After lunch, Luo Sui Sui and Luo Wenyao went to the hospital. Luo Wenyao found a doctor he was close to to do a paternity test for them, for confidentiality.

The technology was advanced enough that the results would be available in an hour.

Inside a chief physician's office,

Xiahou Jin walked in carrying a roll of gauze. He was tall and handsome, with sharp features and a strikingly wicked air, exuding an unapproachable aura.

Thinking of what he had done and the injury on his knuckles, he couldn't help but say, "Why are you arguing with those rich kids? You could bankrupt them with a flick of your finger."

Gu Nanyan flicked his cigar. "They were hurling insults at Sui Sui, and I couldn't hold back."

"So what if you hit them? They couldn't beat you anyway. Why did you hit the wall with your hand in the end? The wall is fine, but your hand is all scraped and bleeding."

"They were so scared their legs went weak."

Xiahou Jin: ...

"By the way, I just saw Sui Sui walking this way. She's not coming to see you, is she?" Xiahou Jin said while bandaging him. "I wonder if Sui Sui has some kind of tracking device on you. She always knows where you are."

Upon hearing this, Gu Nanyan stubbed out his cigar without thinking. "Turn on the exhaust fan. Sui Sui doesn't like the smell of smoke."

"I'm not saying this to criticize you, but if you care so much, why are you always so cold to Sui Sui?" Xiahou Jin clicked his tongue when he saw him immediately switch to a gentle demeanor.

"I'm afraid she'll get hurt because of me." Gu Nanyan sighed softly.

After his parents' plane crash, he, a recent college graduate who had skipped grades, was forced to take over the family's underground organization, "Xingluo." Ruthless and merciless, he gained control of "Xingluo" in less than a year, but many still coveted him.

Sui Sui was his weakness; if he showed her affection, someone would surely try to use her to blackmail him. But he remained indifferent to her. Given her status as the daughter of the Luo family, no one in Haicheng dared to do anything to her, and Uncle Luo was not someone to be trifled with.

Moreover, Sui Sui had said she liked men as clear as the bright moon and as gentle as the wind.

But he had experienced so much darkness and corruption, and was actually full of malice; he didn't want to gamble. What if Sui Sui knew his true nature and distanced herself from him?

Sui Sui seemed to like him, but her feelings were too naive. He feared that if they were together for long, she would be dissatisfied and want to end it, leaving him nowhere to turn. He could only wait for an opportunity.

An hour later, the paternity test results, which Luo Sui and Sui Sui had been watching closely, came out. Seeing that the report confirmed their parentage,

Luo Sui Sui's tense nerves finally relaxed.

"Dad, what do you think?"

"Dad understands. Your mother is still in the neighboring province. To avoid any unforeseen complications, we need to call her back as soon as possible." Luo Wenyao thought for a moment and then said firmly.

Luo Sui Sui nodded, understanding that her father believed her.

In the corridor, Luo Wenyao called his wife, Mu Rong.

"Honey, are you home? How is Sui Sui?" Mu Rong asked softly.

Luo Wenyao replied in his usual tone, "Nothing serious. Rong'er, have you shown Wan Wan Sui's photos or anything like that?"

"No."

"That's good. I plan to let them meet face-to-face for the first time. That way, they won't have any fixed impressions, and it will be easier for the two girls to get along." Luo Wenyao said calmly.

"Okay." Although Mu Rong had some doubts, her years of tacit understanding prevented her from asking further.

"I've arranged the best doctor for Wan Wan in Haicheng. I'll send someone to pick you up tomorrow."

After hanging up the phone, Mu Rong walked from the balcony into the ward and saw Su Wan Wan, looking weak, staring straight at her, which made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

"Mom, did Dad call you?" Su Wanwan asked softly.

Mu Rong nodded. "Yes, he said he found the best doctor for you and will send someone to pick us up tomorrow."

"That's wonderful," Su Wanwan smiled weakly, saying sadly, "I finally have a home."

Mu Rong smiled and replied, "Okay. You rest well first, I'll go buy some things." With that, she got up and left.
