In my short years of living on this Earth, it has taught me more wrongs than goods, more evil than benevolence. Although we humans are the ones who have caused this tragedy, I would just come to have figured this out through the tragedies that God has fated me with for the rest of my miserable life. I thought, why should I be the one to face such a terrible future? But deep down in my soul, I knew why, and soon you too will see for yourself. I am Silver Archive, and I am a 14-year-old in my first year of high school. Talking about that, today is actually my first day. I am still asleep; these are my thoughts floating and fading in my head. Because of this, you might think that I am telling you my story from the future, but I tell you, you're wrong. This story is being told from the present.
"Damn, is Silver still in bed?" said Gin Archive, the father of Silver, Makiy, and Genesis, who is his older brother and currently 19 years old (he goes by Gen, though) and is in his first year at The National Academy of Magi, which is based in Tokyo, Japan, a long distance away from America, which is where the Archive clan lives for now at least.
As Gen walks up the stairs down the long hallway on the second floor and takes a right, he knocks on the door. Silver opens the door. "Oh, you're already up, I see," said Gen.
"Yeah, I'm sorry I took so long, Dad, but I'm ready to go now," said Silver.
Gen smiles and moves out the doorway. Silver moves past him and goes to the kitchen and sits down at the dinner table to eat his breakfast.
Gen asked, "How do you feel about your first day of high school, son?"
Silver answered, "Pretty excited, actually. I never thought I would be excited about going to school, but I'm intrigued today."
Gen says, "That's good to hear."
Jetta walks into the kitchen. Gen says, "Oh, good morning, honey."
Jetta replies, "Good morning, you two."
Silver finishes eating and gets up. Silver says, "Bye and good morning, Mom."
Gen and Jetta say, "Goodbye, son."
Silver opens the door and heads to school. He walks onward to school as he thinks of how weird this world is. "Everyone is destined to awaken a supernatural power called an Arcana, which is awakened by the time in one's life at which they open their eyes, and they awaken their spirit and mental phenomena called a Spiritual Awakening. This is when one consciously shifts beyond mundane things and seeks to find their true self, or one's mentality has manifested into a great shift in the mind to their truth. But in simpler terms, it's when one wakes up to part of their true self."
"I wonder when I will manifest my Arcana?" says Silver. "Welp, no use thinking about it; it's not like it's going to happen soon anyway. Oh wow, I'm already here," he realizes. "I might as well go inside."
As he walks inside, he opens his locker then turns around and sees a familiar face. "Hey, is that you, Silvee?" screams Izame while smiling and running towards him. Silver blushes and replies, "Don't call me that. I didn't know we were going to the same high school, Izame."
Izame replies as she giggles with her hand over her mouth cutely, "What's wrong with your nickname? After all, I did give you it all the way back when we first met at the start of middle school."
Silver replies, "Yeah, well, whatever," he said as he looked away smiling. He looks back and puts his books in his locker, then closes and locks it and says, "You know I could hear you from a mile away back there."
Izame replies, "Oh, sorry, I just got a little carried away, and you know I saw you blushing," she smiles.
He says, "Oh, shut up, I just thought it was cute."
Izame replies, "Are you trying to flirt with me?" as she laughs.
Silver says, "Whatever, we gotta go to class anyway, idiot," as he shakes his head.
