Synopsis
They ignored the quiet programmer in the corner. No one imagined that one day, the same man would stand far beyond anything they could control. Nicholas Drake was invisible. Not because he wanted to be… but because the world never bothered to notice him. A quiet programmer. An ordinary life. Endless nights spent building systems that others would take credit for. No fame. No recognition. No future that truly belonged to him. Until something began to change. It didn’t grant him instant power or rewrite his fate overnight. Instead, it demanded something far more difficult—discipline, growth, and the relentless pursuit of improvement. Step by step, Nicholas Drake begins to evolve. His body grows stronger. His mind sharper. His skills deeper than anything he once imagined. And while the world continues chasing loud success and instant glory, Nicholas walks a path no one else can see. A path built quietly. A path built patiently. A path that leads far beyond the limits of an ordinary life. For now, he remains unknown. Just another face in the crowd. But somewhere along the way, the silent climb of an unnoticed programmer will begin to shape something far greater. Something powerful enough that one day… Even the world itself may have no choice but to acknowledge his existence.

Chapter 1 - 1 The Strike

Nicholas Drake had spent years building things that carried someone else's name.

The world rewarded louder voices, not the ones working quietly behind the screen.

But no one realized that the quiet ones were often the most dangerous.

Rain pressed hard against the glass, a steady, unrelenting rhythm that blurred the city beyond into streaks of dull light. The room itself was dim, lit only by the glow of a monitor that had been running far too long.

Lines of code filled the screen.

They shifted, updated, compiled, failed, and recompiled again.

He leaned closer, eyes strained but sharp, fingers hovering over the keyboard like they belonged there more than anywhere else. The rest of the world had faded hours ago. Hunger, sleep, time itself—none of it mattered.

This was the final build.

Almost complete.

A faint hum came from the CPU, overworked but obedient. The system struggled to keep up with what he had created. It wasn't just a game anymore—not really. It responded too quickly. Adjusted too well. Almost like it understood.

He exhaled slowly.

"Just one more fix…"

A flicker.

The lights dimmed for half a second.

He didn't look up.

Another flicker.

This time, the screen glitched.

Not a crash. Not a system error.

The code… shifted.

He froze.

That wasn't possible.

The lines didn't just rearrange—they moved. Flowed like liquid, restructuring themselves faster than any command he had written.

"What…?"

A low rumble rolled across the sky.

Then—

A flash.

Blinding. Immediate. Absolute.

The lightning didn't just strike nearby.

It struck him.

For a fraction of a second, everything ceased to exist. Sound vanished. Thought collapsed. There was only white—pure, devouring white.

And then—

Impact.

His body locked. Muscles seized. Every nerve ignited at once, screaming under a force too vast to comprehend. The chair crashed backward, but he didn't feel it.

Because something else was happening.

The screen hadn't gone dark.

It burned.

Light poured out of it—not like electricity, not like fire. Something sharper. Structured. Alive.

The code was no longer confined to the monitor.

It spilled outward.

Threads of light—thin, precise—shot through the air and into him.

Not around him.

Not past him.

Into him.

His breath caught, then stopped entirely.

Every instinct in his body tried to reject it. This wasn't energy. This wasn't something the human body was meant to contain.

But it didn't stop.

The current slowed.

Not weakening.

Adjusting.

The violent surge softened into something deliberate. Measured. It moved through him like it was mapping something—learning pathways, tracing signals, rewriting limits.

His fingers twitched.

A pulse echoed through him.

Then another.

But it wasn't his heartbeat.

Not anymore.

His vision fractured. The room split into layers—real and unreal overlapping, glitching at the edges. The walls bent, the floor flickered, reality itself struggling to hold its shape.

And then—

A voice.

Not heard through his ears.

Not spoken aloud.

It existed directly inside him.

Cold. Precise. Unfamiliar.

[Synchronization… initiated]

His thoughts stuttered.

He tried to move. Failed.

The voice continued, indifferent.

[Host detected]

The light inside him pulsed again, deeper this time, settling into places it shouldn't even reach.

[Compatibility… uncertain]

For a brief, terrifying moment, everything stopped.

Silence.

Stillness.

Like the world itself was waiting for a decision.

Then—

[Override accepted]

Something locked into place.

His body arched violently as the last surge tore through him, no longer chaotic—controlled. Final.

[Synchronization complete]

Darkness rushed in.

His vision collapsed. The fractured reality snapped back—or maybe it didn't. Maybe he just couldn't see it anymore.

The last thing he felt wasn't pain.

It was… alignment.

As if something ancient and precise had just found where it belonged.

Then he hit the ground.

And everything went black.

Author Note:-

Power does not always arrive with noise.

Sometimes it grows quietly, inside someone the world never cared about.

This story begins with silence… but it will not end that way.

This is my first novel, so expect a few rough edges. Every chapter is a step forward.

I hope the journey of this character makes you curious enough to keep reading.

Thank you for giving a new author a chance.
