Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Awakening

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thousands of years ago, humanity crossed the event horizon of a black hole, venturing into worlds beyond comprehension.

Every discovery, every skill, every secret was recorded in a infinite library called the"BABLYON" , a realm of floating archives stretching across dimensions.

Civilization fractured. Greed and ambition tore humanity apart. Some regressed to medieval-like life, others harnessed the energy of entire stars.

PLANET ERYNDOR – MORNING

The camera sweeps down from the violet glow of the Dyson Array, past floating skyships carving arcs of light across the sky, down to the small town of Aurelith. Cobblestone streets glimmer faintly from residual ether energy beneath. Children chase metal-feathered birds, merchants push carts pulsing softly with power, and distant energy beams hum like the heartbeat of the planet.

NARRATOR

And this… is me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

INT. ARTHUR'S BEDROOM – MORNING

I wake up slowly beneath a rough quilt. my eyes fluttering open to sunlight spilling through the cracks of the window. Posters of planet cruisers and constellations cover my walls. Above my desk, a holographic **Dyson Array model** rotates slowly, casting soft light.

MIRA:

ARTHUR! You're going to miss breakfast if you don't get up!

ARTHUR (grumbling):

I'm awake… sort of.

i swings my legs over the edge of the bed, rubbing my eyes. rune veins along my wrist glimmer faintly, dormant for sixteen years, waiting for today.

ARTHUR (NA):

Sixteen. That's my age. Today. The Awakening Ceremony.

i stand and stretch, glancing around the my room. The hum of the Dyson Array outside mingles with the faint hiss of hovering tools from my father's workshop.

AIKO (Mother,calling from kitchen)

Eat something before you step out. Don't faint from excitement before you even reach the plaza.

JOSEPH(Father,dining room)

And try to act normally , back in my day people looked up to me when i came out of BABLYON.

AIKO:

Is that so~, then why did i see you going to the bathroom covering your mouth.

JOSEPH:

That... i...uh forgot to eat. Yes i forgot to eat ,that's why you should listen to your mother.

I smirk faintly, grabbing a slice of warm bread. The familiar smells of morning—the dough, the roasting herbs—somehow calm me. But only a little.

ARTHUR

It's supposed to feel like a normal day… but nothing about today is normal.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EXT. TOWN SQUARE – MORNING

I steps into the streets with my friends, Taro and Kale. Taro balances a glowing top in his palms, making it spin like a miniature star. Kale flicks a pebble into the air, leaving a faint streak of light.

RENTARO:

So… any guesses? What kind of skill do you think the Library will give you?

KALE:

I'm hoping flashy. Fire, lightning… maybe even something like teleportation or time-stuff ya know.

ARTHUR:

Yeah… and I'll probably get Farming mastery or something.

Taro laughs.

RENTARO:

Hey, don't underestimate it. Wars have been fought over crops, you know.

I chuckle, trying to ignore the tension coiling in mt stomach. Today, names would be called, and everyone at the age of 16 would enter the "BABLYON", where "iris" the AI would judge their personality and give them an appropriate skill ,and No one outside would know what skill anyone received until they themselves revealed it.

KALE:

They say the Library doesn't even show you what others got. Makes it… nerve-wracking.

ARTHUR:

Makes it kind of fun tho, imagine if every one could just check what abilities your opponents have, if they are stronger runaway and if they are weaker bully them.

RENTARO: makes sense , fights would be kind of boring if you already know the outcome.

we laugh nervously. I spots other classmates already gathering near the plaza's central fountain. The air vibrates faintly with ether energy, and even from this distance, the hum of anticipation is tangible.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EXT. TOWN PLAZA – MIDDAY

The plaza is crowded. Merchants have paused their work, children are hushed, and families form tight clusters, watching the square with anxious eyes. Elder Armin floats near the crystal fountain, his robes glowing faintly. Holographic glyphs spin above him, orbiting like miniature planets.

my gaze shifts to the mayor's office, where Mayor Caesar approaches, his daughter bianca at his side. i wave at them — mr.Caesar has been a family friend for years, often inviting me to observe the small town affairs.

ARTHUR:

Mayor Caesar… always serious, always fair. And today, he starts it all.

mr.Caesar steps to the center of the plaza, daughter at his side. The crowd hushes. He raises his hand, and the murmurs fade to whispers.

MAYOR CAESAR

People of Aurelith! Today, our youth awaken. Each of you carries potential. Some may seem small, some great—but every role matters. Every skill, every effort, every life shapes the future. Never think yourself too small or insignificant.

The crowd murmurs approval. I straighten my self out of habit, heart pounding. Taro and Kale glance at me, giving small nods of encouragement.

MAYOR CAESAR

The ceremony begins. I will call your names, one by one. Step forward when called. Approach the portal with courage. Let the Library decide your skill.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE NAME-CALLING BEGINS

The first name echoes across the plaza:

RENTARO of Aurelith!

Taro steps forward, waving briefly at me before walking onto the platform. The portal shimmers. A faint light ripples where he stands, then he vanishes into the Library. A hush sweeps through the plaza. it seems everyone is excited for their turn.

KALE: of Aurelith!

The next youth is called. Kale exhales, nodding at me, and steps forward. Light swirls around him as he disappears.

The crowd watches in awe, whispers of prayers and encouragement brushing the air.

One by one… everyone I knew stepped forward. Friends, neighbors, even the mayor's daughter. Each vanished into the unknown, leaving behind only traces of light.

Mira of Aurelith!

my little sister is called. just a few months younger than me She waves nervously, stepping toward the portal. LIAN bites his lip as her aura glows faintly, lingering briefly before fading.

MAYOR CAESAR:

And now… arthur of Aurelith!

the plaza falls silent... for me at least, my heart starts pounding.

ARTHUR:

Here it comes. My name. My turn. And after this… everything changes.

I step forward. The glowing platform hums under my feet. The portal ripples like liquid light, a window into the BABLYON. I breathe deeply, trying to calm my nerves "its my turn now "

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EXT. THE PORTAL – CONTINUOUS

I gently place my hand in the portal , it feels like a cool waterfall, one that you would find in a forest untouched, its golden glow feels bright, i wonder how large the inslde must be.

MAYOR CAESAR:

Afraid Arthur, don't worry I'm sure you'll do just fine.

ARTHUR:

thank you ,uncle Caesar.

ARTHUR:

No one will know what waits for me. Only the BABLYON , IRIS. And me.

A shimmering light flows from the portal, reflecting off my clothes, painting my face with hues of white and gold. my heart races. The platform hums in harmony with the portal above. I swallow, taking the first step forward, leaving the town plaza behind.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EXT. INTERSTELLAR LIBRARY – CONTINUOUS

i emerge into The Bablyon.

The scale is absolutely massive. Towers of glowing archives staked on top of each other like Jenga blocks floating in space. Books as far as the eyes can see. Floating shelves each representing all skills humanity recorded from a planet. Everywhere is filled with knowledge, a record of civilizations long lost in the passage of time, waiting to be claimed.

The IRIS manifests as a constellation of pulsing particles, each radiating light waving like colourful fireflies, dancing around in the night sky, filled with awareness, and intent. Its presence is not overwhelming, but rather soothing, brushing against my mind.

IRIS(AI):

Welcome to Bablyon, a place filled with all the knowledge you could ever wish for.
