Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Returning to Familiar Grounds

"All right, all right, what bad luck!" The driver shook his head.

Seraphina Redgrave had no interest in dealing with him any longer and pushed open the car door, walking to the side of the road. She raised her head to gaze at the immensely luxurious mansion before her, her elegant yet dignified dress swayed gently in the breeze.

The memories from the past surged forth as though awakened.

"Dad! I'm begging you! I'm your daughter after all! I will surely make a name for myself in the future, and bring glory to our family. I'm pleading with you, don't treat me like this, dad!"

"Since you put it that way, I won't hesitate to reveal the truth! Seraphina Redgrave, you're actually just an orphan we picked up, the Redgrave Family doesn't have such a kind heart. Yet you were lucky enough to ward off bad luck for us! You have to go today, there's no choice!"

Once she knelt here, weeping and pleading with her so-called "father".

She begged for so long, begged him not to send her away, but in return she received intensified torment and endless despair.

Her timidity and weakness only led to Jonathan Redgrave speaking a heart-wrenching truth.

Seraphina Redgrave stood expressionless before the door, gazing at the fountain in front of the mansion.

She would never forget that day; Mia Redgrave sat right in front of him, wearing a luxurious, exquisite dress by the poolside. Leisurely sipping afternoon tea, holding the latest high-end phone, while her ears filled with Seraphina Redgrave's desperate pleas.

Perhaps bothered by her crying, Mia Redgrave instructed the servants to drag her to the poolside and pressed her chin down with a shoe.

"Seraphina Redgrave, I actually think you're quite pitiable. But who made Leo like you? Not only did he send you love letters, but also confessed deep affection for you. As if possessed, he loves you wholeheartedly!"

"Look at your face! So coy, so vulgar! Do men like bitches like you!"

Before the words finished, Mia Redgrave kicked Seraphina Redgrave's face fiercely with the heel of her stiletto.

Seraphina Redgrave collapsed on the ground, her face consumed by endless pain.

Back then, she didn't know how to resist; she only cried, begging them to spare her.

"Mona, I'm begging you! We grew up together, at least spare me for old times' sake. I implore you to let me go!"

"The thought of being sisters with someone like you disgusts me!" Mia Redgrave looked at Seraphina Redgrave contemptuously.

"You're nothing but a useless abandoned child! You're lucky the Redgrave Family was willing to take in a jinx like you, and coincidentally able to ward off evil for me; it's considered your fate!"

"Mona..."

Mia Redgrave sat by the pool, as if merely glancing at Seraphina Redgrave was a concession.

She looked over to her father, "Dad, remember to tell them over there. When they open the room, make sure to record a video, later I'll show it to Leo. I want to see how he will face Seraphina Redgrave, this bitch, in the future! Doesn't he think she's a goddess? That she's high above, untouchable? Then I'll bring his goddess down from her pedestal!"

"Sure, I'll do whatever you say. I'll make it happen," Jonathan Redgrave's only beloved was his biological daughter, Mia.

Seraphina Redgrave would forever remember Jonathan and Mia Redgrave, the monstrous father and daughter.

They sold her off right before her eyes. Just like selling livestock!

Regaining composure, Seraphina Redgrave navigated to the side alley from the main gate. Walking all the way to the back, she skillfully climbed up a tree, then used a branch to leap over the wall without drawing any attention.

Her toes lightly touched the wall, her simple dress fluttered and soared. When she landed, she did not create any sound.

Seraphina Redgrave sneered and, based on past impressions, slowly slipped into the mansion through the side door.

Once inside, Seraphina Redgrave realized the Redgrave Family had redecorated, turning it into something grand and magnificent.

Even next to the marble staircase, there's an expensive stone lion!

It seems that these past years, the Redgrave Family trod over her blood and tears, thriving prominently here!

Jonathan Redgrave was just a councilor, and only a puppet councilor acting on others' orders. It's unknown whom he connected with to suddenly ascend on the coattails of wealthy ventures.

The vast mansion was eerily quiet, occasionally flanked by complaints from maids wafting through windows.

Seraphina Redgrave silently walked from the hall into a room, directly pushing open the door.

This was the room she once stayed in at the Redgrave Family.

Unexpectedly, upon entering, she discovered a fierce, menacing large wolfhound.

It was a huge wolfhound resting; Seraphina Redgrave's movement opening the door startled it awake.

The wolfhound stood up immediately, seeing Seraphina Redgrave intruding, it furiously wanted to pounce on her and tear her apart.

She remained calm, squatting down. She retrieved a rope toy from the nearby toys, gesturing with her hands, murmuring something softly.

In just a minute, the originally fierce wolfhound suddenly sat down under her gaze and licked her palm amicably.
