Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Blessing in Disguise

Seeing the large wolfdog being so obedient and sensible, Seraphina Redgrave rewarded it with a can of treats.

The people there all lacked survival skills, but heaven never seals off all exits.

When God closes a door for you, He also opens a window.

In extreme and special circumstances, those who lacked survival abilities also showcased extraordinary strength. So, over these three years, like a sponge, she eagerly followed various people with different backgrounds and learned an array of skills.

Basic things like climbing trees or walls, taming beasts, were a breeze for Seraphina Redgrave.

Seraphina picked up the large bag of dog food next to her and casually tossed it into the dog bowl, patting its body.

This menacing wolfdog, feared by everyone, simply bowed down before her fragile figure and obediently began to eat.

Seraphina glanced around the house she once lived in, which now was just a doghouse.

The Redgrave Family truly loathed her to the core!

Seraphina moved the things beside her and sat directly on the floor. She tapped the ground, then picked up the floor tile, revealing something beneath.

She placed the tile aside and took out an iron box from under the floor, wiping the dust off it with her hand.

Taking a slow, deep breath, she opened it with great care.

Inside the box were things she had secretly kept from long ago. Some were money she painstakingly saved from work-study jobs, accumulating bit by bit.

And a pendant that was placed in her clothes when she was abandoned at the orphanage's doorstep.

Long ago, she found out she was not the biological daughter of the Redgrave Family, that she was brought back from an orphanage.

Going from an orphan to a person with a family made her very grateful to the Redgrave Family.

So no matter how Mia Redgrave bullied her, she kept all the matters to herself, saying nothing about it.

In the past, Mia treated her entirely like a servant, ordering her around, yet she felt it was as it should be.

Compared to being an orphan, being a servant for the Redgrave Family didn't seem too bad.

Mia didn't want her to have money to buy what she wanted, so whenever she found Seraphina had some money saved, she insisted it be handed over to her.

Thus, Seraphina hadn't saved much money over the years, though paying for a taxi fare was still easy.

Seraphina put the floor tiles back to their original place, making the floor look as if it hadn't been touched.

Looking at the doghouse in front of her, she glanced out the window without any expression. A ray of sunlight fell perfectly on her fair, delicate face.

Suddenly, something crossed her mind, a teasing glint flashing through her eyes.

After all this time, coming here took quite an effort.

As a guest, it's only courteous to bring a gift to your host!

Five minutes later, Seraphina walked out of the Redgrave Family with the iron box openly in her hand, getting into a cab once again, and as she paid the fare, she said, "Driver, please take me to the nearby food street again."

After staying in that godforsaken place for over three years, she really missed the gourmet pleasures outside!

Tonight she had to indulge to her heart's content!

The night was heavy as the grand gates of the Redgrave mansion slowly opened, and two luxury cars drove in slowly from outside.

A few servants stepped forward to open the car doors, and Jonathan Redgrave and Lena Lynch, with prideful expressions, descended from the vehicle.

Jonathan, in his prime, was in the bloom of his career, wearing a sharply tailored suit, even the smile on his face had an air of superiority.

On the other side, the gentle and alluring Lena stood straight by his side.

"Dad, Mommy, you two came back too?" a surprised voice came from another car.

As she spoke, a fashionable yet delicate girl emerged slowly from the car.

A pure white cape coat paired with a bright red dress. Her slim, long white legs were exposed, dazzling under the light. Seeing Jonathan and Yvonne Redgrave, she immediately switched to a little girl's demeanor, throwing herself into Lena's embrace.
