Volume 1 Chapter 1 First Day Of Class.
I am Amayori Takayaji. I became a first-year student this year. I was living alone in Tokyo. I was all alone at my house. I don't have any parents or guardians, just myself. I have a sister, but she hasn't returned home for 4 years since I was in 6th grade.
My sister and I were living in Yokohama when we were still kids. Since then we haven't had real parents anymore. our aunty was the one who was taking care of us due our parents abandoned us. We three moved to Tokyo city. But one day, aunty also died due to her illness. She hid that from us for a long time since we were in Yokohama. She doesn't want us too worried about every single thing. She was a very caring person. She does love us as her natural children. Well, I got sad knowing that she died. But, it's natural that humans died. I will also die at any time so I don't have to think about it.
I turned 15 years old and It's been 4 years since my sister hasn't got in contact with me. All these years, my life is still the same, Quiet and peaceful. No one is bothering me. All I did inside the house was lie down on the bed, read mystery books, watch some urban legends, then sleep. That was my everyday routine. Except the school will start again and it will make me do some stuff.
Ever since I was a child, I've been reading mystery stories. From then until now, that is the only thing that I can do fine. Reading books is a bit of trouble for me because I dont want myself to think hard but it's kinda challenging to me that's why I continuously read and watch some of them.
I lived in Yokohama when I was a kid. chaos did happen there when I was in 6th grade. It was called, "the burning city". No one still not knows what is the cause of it. I have read some chaotic things on the news. 10 years ago, chaos happened. It happened in the city of Nagoya. The incident was called Wrath. It was the biggest earthquake that happened in Nagoya. There are rumors that after the earthquake, there were a bunch of flying things that came out from under the ground. Until now, there is a hole at the center of Nagoya. Nagoya was called an abandoned city. Not only in Nagoya but Chaos did happen. It also happened in every city in Japan. A chaotic thing has been happening recently in japan. I don't think this kind of thing is normal anymore. From the incident of "Burning city" at Yokohama. That is the reason why we moved to Tokyo.
I found a good apartment in Tokyo. When I turned to 7th grade, I used to work online by making stories for my rent payment. The school name that I transferred to is Tomosaki high school. I stayed in that school from grade 7 to grade 9 and I suddenly changed schools.
I found a new school, It was called Seiyū high school. It's a weird name, but I transferred to this school since it was new and big. Also, it was my chance and it was my time to make friends because I have been socializing myself with the world.
"Life is a tough one huh?"
I went out of my house and walked to wait for a bus in front of the pedestrian lane.
The bus arrived and I went in and sat near the back.
There are a few students on the bus. It was the same uniform as mine.
My curiosity comes up. It's about the school that I transferred to. It was Seiyū High school. I thought of some in my mind. When you translate "Seiyū" it will be Voice Actor. Another idea is when removing the S on Seiyū, it will be Eiyū 英雄. In English it means "Heroes" What does it mean? And what is the S on it? Does this school owner still have 8th-grade syndrome?
Well, anyway. I don't need to think about that anymore. I just want a peaceful life, I want freedom. I also want to start making friends again.
The word again should be used if I dont have friends back then.
The bus arrived in front of the school. I entered the gate, standing in front of it, and felt the fresh air of freedom.
"Another freedom? It was boring freedom. But, Interesting life I have here"
"Hey"
Someone approached me from behind. I turned around and it was a bunch of guys. They seem like delinquents. I should avoid making in touch with them.
I start to walk and go inside the school. But, they again called out my name.
"Oi! you should apologize to us for blocking us while we were walking"
"Huh…Should I apologize?"
Well, I don't have to apologize since it's a large place where you can walk everywhere. And this way was not their own so what's the point of apologizing?
"Huh? Have you lost your mind? If you don't, we'll teach you a lesson"
"Um…there is so much space to walk through the school. There is no need for me to apologize"
A boy from the back went in front of me. He looks like their boss. Will there be trouble? Oh please. I don't like trouble. I want to fix this immediately. Should I apologize? It's a pain in the ass if I did. Well, I have to finish this already. I don't want to get involved with them
"Hey, you. What's your name?"
He asked for my name and I immediately told him my name.
"Um…I'm Amayori Takayaji"
"Next time. You should apologize immediately"
He unexpectedly punched me. Those moves are incredible. But, I do learn different kinds of things about fighting. I learned it in my elementary school days. I do manage to dodge it by grabbing his hand with my right hand.
"Huh? (this guy is not bad. He shows me the speed of his reaction. Also, the grip of his hand is extremely strong)
"Huh??? he stops Imura's punch?"
I'm getting tired of this. Some student is looking at us. This is the thing that I don't like. Please can someone stop him? I want to go inside.
"Stop it right there"
A person with the color orange-blonde(light) haired girl showed up. She saves me from trouble.
"We all are new students here. We shouldn't be fighting. Instead of fighting, we should be making friends"
"Yeah. let's get along Amayori"
Huh? Did he know my name? If I'm not mistaken, his name was Imura. Gojo Imura? That's surprising. He's still the same as ever.
Gojo and the people he's with went inside and the girl and I were left outside.
"Now then, it's nice to meet you again Amayori-Kun"
"Huh?"
"You don't remember me? We've been in the same class in Tomosaki high school last year"
I do remember the name of Tomosaki high school but this girl? I don't remember at all. I don't just pay attention to anyone at that time.
"Then let me introduce myself again. My name is Kaga Takase, Representative of the 9th-grade class B of Tomosaki high school"
"Huh? That Kaga? Wow, your hair got longer than before. It's nice to see you again Kaga-san"
"I'm relieved that you remember. Anyway, you can call me Takase. Anyone does call me by my first name so feel free to call me like that"
"Understood. Anyway, thank you for saving me from Gojo-Kun"
"It's no problem. I have always seen them many times. They've been doing that ever since"
"I'm going now inside"
"Aright. Call me anytime if they cause you trouble again"
The school Entrance Ceremony has started. We did the national anthem first and After that, A girl went to the center of the stage. Suddenly, the atmosphere got quiet when the girl on the stage raised her hand.
"Good morning to all students that just transferred to this school"
So this school is just new. But the name is a weird one. The information about this school is still unknown. Well, I think this school is just
The girl was continuously talking and I paid attention to what she was saying.
"I am Hokigami Yatsemi, the school principal. I want all of you to pay attention to what I say. The first quarter. First, It does require joining the Kendo club and archery club. Second, we won't do many assignments and activities this first semester. Third, you'll be learning this first quarter is Sports. Forth, it is required for students to be expelled for those who won't join the Kendo and Archery club. There is a club in every classroom. The first-year students have their club of Archer and Kendo in every class. It was the same as the second year and third year. on "
Huh? In the first quarter? The sports will begin by the first quarter that sudden? Of course, some of the students are happy to hear that but how about those students who don't do any sports? Also, many students are not capable of Kendo and Archery. Will they expel them just for that?
"We, the school, will help the students to train for Kendo training and Archery. But if the student doesn't accept it then they'll be expelled instantly."
The entrance ceremony continues. No one understands why they'll be expelled just for not doing kendo and archery.
The entrance ceremony has ended and all of the students head to their classrooms.
2 boys entered the classroom. The one was extremely noisy while his friend was stopping him.
"All of you. I'm Shimuyara Tanjishiki. I'm the hero of the world. You can count on me anytime"
"Hey, Hi everyone. We should start to introduce ourselves since our homeroom teacher wasn't still here yet. I'll start with myself—"
"Hey, you dumbass. You're stealing my spot. Also, I'm the one who introduces first—"
"Shut up for a second. Um…anyways. I'm Ishigamura Kayato, nice to meet you all. Take care of me, also to this stupid guy"
"I'm not stupid you stupid dumbass. I'm a hero okay, a hero"
Wow, people truly have the courage to introduce themselves in front of everyone. I don't feel like introducing myself. Feels like I've been watched by the monsters.
The introduction continued while I was still looking outside of the window. The guy Ishigamura Kayato is calling someone. I didn't know if he was calling me or not so I looked at him.
"Is it okay for you to introduce yourself?"
"Of course, he can, he's not a man if he cannot"
"Shut up for a while, can you? (cough) excuse me for that. Would you?"
He asked me to introduce myself. Yes, It's no problem to introduce. However, many people are paying attention to the one who was introduced.
I have no choice since it's more embarrassing to decline than to introduce myself while everyone is paying attention.
I inhale and exhale, stand up, and cool down my body.
"Um…was it okay if I just did tell my name since I don't have anything to share with you or where am I good at?"
That would be a great idea since I didn't have interesting things back then.
"Sure thing, the name is important. Knowing each other names is the most important thing for us to make a good connection and memories"
Good point. I should know everyone's name too and for me to make friends I need to know their names"
"My name is Amayori Takayaji."
I sat down and the introduction ended. Everyone looks very happy. They've become friends that fast and I'm still a loner as ever. How can I get a friend like this? Maybe it is a boring life again this time.
The teacher entered the classroom. Everyone settled down. And got quite immediately.
"Well then, my name is Amayori Mayase. I'll be your homeroom teacher so I'd like for all of you to introduce yourself"
"Amayori? If I'm not mistaken, there is Amayori in this class too—"
For all these years, I just found my sister in this mysterious school. Well, I'm glad to see her well but I want her not to tell them about my past.
"Hey, Amayori Takayaji. Is Sensei your sister?"
Well, they already figured it out so what's the point of hiding it?
"Yeah" I gave a weird reaction to Shimuyara.
Since both of us and my sister haven't been in contact since then, it's a bit awkward to see her and talk to her.
"She's pretty"
"She's so young"
Everyone is attracted to my sister. The beauty of her face is surely attractive. A joyful, gentle, and perfect body is everyone's dream girl. I haven't looked for my sister since then. The thing that I was looking for now is friends.
"Well then everyone. Let's introduce them one by one"
The introduction continues and I look outside of the window.
The introduction ended and Sensei told us about the school's instruction.
" From today to the end of the first semester. Everyone will do Kendo and archery. Also, the sports that you'll choose. The school provides every Sports clothes. Later, the secretary of the student council will head here to give all of you the sports application. It's okay if you guys won't join sports, but it is required for Kendo and Archery. You guys already know that so don't miss out"
I won't do the Archery one. You just have to choose between Archer and Kendo. It's not part of the rules that we'll be doing both Kendo and Archery. I have practiced archers since I did it in 7th and 8th grade. I wanted to continue the kendo training. I did kendo too when I was in the 9th grade.
I practiced with Kaga in 8th grade. She was very excellent at kendo. She also joined the volleyball and swimming sports. She is excellent in every sport, and her grade is also excellent. In my 9th grade at Tomosaki high school, she was the secretary of the student council. She is popular with girls and boys. That's the reason that makes her perfect.
Kaga's kendo ability is perfect when we fight 1 on 1. No one wins at the fight because the school bell rings, we stopped fighting and went home.
The morning classes have ended, so now it's lunch. I went to the cafeteria and bought donuts. I forgot to cook my lunch because I don't want to be late since it's the first day of school. Also, I did not bring much money to buy some expensive foods from the cafeteria so I just bought donuts.
At the time I sat down. Near the corridor of the cafeteria. I saw 5 girls standing. The other girl seems familiar to me. She might be one of my classmates from Tomosaki High school.
"If I'm not mistaken, she is Kazanawa Shiori. so many students from Tomosaki high school are transferred here"
Kazanawa Shiori. I saw her last year with a bunch of girls. Also after that incident, I saw her crying with full bruises on her body in the street when I was going home.
I finished eating my donuts and went to the bathroom.
"Bully people are so annoying one"
When I finished using the bathroom, I saw them again going upstairs. I followed them because I'm worried about Kazanawa. I'm not worried, just curious what's with them
So basically, they're going to the rooftop where someone can't reach them or see them.
I peeked at the door and watched them.
"Hey Kazanawa, give me your all money"
"Um…I don't have money. This is for my lunch—"
"The hell I'd care for your lunch"
They grabbed Kazanawa's hair and they slapped her so hard.
"Hey, Kazanawa. Drink this. Don't split any of it out. It's my urine. Dont worry it's clean"
That's going too far.
I opened the door and walked toward them.
"Stop that"
"How the hell did you get here? Hey did you guys forget to lock the door?"
"Takegami-san. You're going too far"
"Huh? Who the hell are you?"
"Kakemi. He is the gloomy one in our classroom last year"
"Well anyway, let's call it a day"
Those 4 girls left and Kazanawa and I were left alone.
"People who don't resist will continuously be abused. Reality is cruel than you think Kazanawa"
"You should get away from me. I might you caused trouble"
"Tell me Kazanawa. Would you like to stay like that forever? Would you spend your life like that forever?
"Tell me what can I do? In this body, I can't do anything. I can't resist"
"If you continue being like that, nothing will change"
"Then what should I do? Fight back?"
"right, That is your best way to free yourself from your current situation"
"But, I'm a weak person. I can't do anything to fight back at them"
"Kazanawa. Let's exchange phone numbers"
We exchange cell phone numbers to contact each other for some reason.
"What are you planning to do?"
"Saturday morning. Meet me at the Tsumugi coffee shop. I'll help you out"
I stand up and lend Kazanawa some help. I lend her my handkerchief to clean herself. I also buy her water for her to calm down.
The lunch ended and both of us went back to the classroom.
A girl walked toward us and asked us if we are the first-year class B. we told her that we are. And she lends us some paper.
"Could you please pass this on to everyone in your class? would you?"
"What is this?"
"That's the sports application. Sorry for disturbing you. I'm so busy right now as the secretary of the student council"
"It's alright"
"I'm Zomigashi Konami. What are your names?"
"I'm Amayori Takayaji"
"I'm Kazanawa Shiori"
"Amayori? Are you Mayase-sensei's little brother?"
"Well you can call it like that"
"Thanks for your help Amayori-Kun and Kazanawa-chan. sorry because I have more things to do so I'll leave that to you. I'll pay you back next time"
She rushed on the way to the student council room.
"Being Student council are doing things that made you busy"
We head to the classroom and bump into a girl named Satō Hakenami in the corridor of our classroom.
"Um…Satō-san. Can I ask you something?"
"What is Amayori-kun?"
"I don't have the courage to give this to everyone so can you please give this to everyone? It was for sports applications. "
"I see. Alright let's go inside now"
We went inside the classroom and Satō gave the papers to everyone.
A voice comes from the speaker. Seems like it was from the broadcast room.
"Good afternoon to all students. Please you may now go to the sports club that you are going to join. about the Kendo and Archery, the kendo and archery club will open every 3 to 5 pm. For those who don't want to join the sports club, go inside the next building and look for a basketball court. We will have a meeting and discuss something while the others are doing sports clubs. Have a nice day"
The broadcast tells us that only from 3 to 5 pm only that Kendo and Archery are open.
This is just gonna make me tired. I wanted to relax but I don't have any choice but to obey the school rules. Also, the broadcast did tell us that it's okay not to join a sports club. Well, I'll just go to the meeting.
I went to the next building where the meeting will be held. Somehow, both I and Kazanawa sat beside each other.
"What a coincidence, you are not joining the Sports club?"
"Well since I'm weak, I'm not good at sports too"
"Huh? Kazanawa-san and Amayori? What a coincidence"
Sato coincidently bum[ with us and sat beside Kazanawa and started to chat with us.
"Both of you seem more getting along"
"Well, since I and Amayori-Kun were classmates last year"
"Which school is it?"
"Tomosaki High school"
"Whoa wait, I'm from Tomosaki high school in 7th grade. Sadly, we didn't meet each other. I leave at that school when I turned into 8th grade"
I'm sure that Sato is from class C at that time while I was from class B.
What about you Amayori-kun? What grade did you start at Tomosaki High school?"
"7th grade"
"Eh? What class were you at that time?"
"Class-B"
"Class-B? I didn't see you there those days"
"Well, you really won't see me because I'm always at the library and club"
"I haven't gone to the library recently but which club did you join?"
"I didn't join, they just forced me to join at detective club"
"Detective club? Wait don't tell me that you are that Mr—"
"Wait, don't tell me about that. Well, I was called like that but it makes me bothered"
I don't like being called by that nickname. It was the time that we are the detective club solving the case of suicide.
It was that rumor said that a boy suicide. Who could think that a person who suicide and the rope over his head was full of hands stained with blood? Also, his face was bruised, that's why it says that they played before killing him, so basically it's murder. A man who suicide was fully bruised over the body. The incident happened at the end of the school on the third floor. The third floor is where the 9 class D and the 10 class A to D classrooms, also the art clubroom and Staffroom. It happened inside the staff room and it also happened the day before we the Detective club members are investigating the case.
Sato got a little bit curious and asked some questions about that incident.
"But Amayori-Kun, how'd you guys from the Detective club solve it?"
"On investigating, time is included, also it's just luck. A story was also included"
"Would you mind telling us how you do it? since we arrived here early and the meeting hasn't still started"
What? It's nothing important about that incident but both Sato and Kazanawa too were insistent so I had no choice but to tell them the story.
"Clubs ended at 5 pm, so the students are starting to pack their things to go out of the school. But I'm left alone there. I went to the science room club from the second floor to get the notebook that I left. I heard a bat fall on the floor but it didn't give me attention and went home already. So the day after that, the teacher calls us, the Detective club members, and tells us that "can you help to find the information about why did he suicide". So at the time that I saw the boy, his face was full of brush, also his whole body. From seeing that, nothing that I can say about this suicide thing but a murder. We told the teachers that it's not suicide, but murder. and they said to us that "he might be got an accident or something happened to him before he suicide". I checked the bat and it was hidden in the corner full of things so we could find it. Why did I look for it? because at the time I went to the science club, I heard a bat noise coming from the third floor, also his head was hit by a bat. I continued investigating the whole day. On the third floor, I look outside the window at the end of the hallway. I saw a rope and it also had blood stains on it. I went outside and looked over it. I looked around and saw the fence also had some blood stains. I went across to the fence and that place is the garden near the dorm. I checked all over the place and at the very back of the school. I saw grass that was anointed by hand with blood. So I think they crossed and went outside of the school without logging out their names so I went after the log book of all the students. All classes besides our class are clear. 4 students were wasn't logged out that day"
"I went to the classroom and I said "Koru Komaki, Taga Shito, Zadahama Kaega, and Fugaha Kiora. You all are the murderers. Kizuna, my jobs are done now, I'm going home"
"Huh? What are you saying? Have you lost your mind? Why would we kill someone"
"Wait a minute Amayori-senpai, we need to explain it to the teachers. And tell us too how'd you know it"
We all went to the teacher's room with those 4 boys. I did tell them what I did while I'm investigating.
"How'd you know that these boys are the murderers?"
"Chiwaka-sensei— no, all of you. Did you know the story of Kagamauchi's high school life story?"
"If I'm not mistaken, that story was by Amayori Takayaji, right? So it's you. then yes, I have read it"
"Chiwaka-sensei, did you still remember how that story ends?"
"the boy was killed—"
"I get it now, I know what you meant now Amayori-senpai. I read that too"
"Good, I'm not the one who knew it and I could not have completed the investigation without the help of the men who were killed. He was a fan of my stories. I saw his name many times by liking my stories. What happened is, before he got murdered, he had already written a letter and sealed it to his ballpen. And the day I'm investigating, I found his pen on the ground and that ballpen tell me who is the murderers"

"The Kagamauchi's high school life story? That's an amazing story that you've made Amayori-Kun, that's why you were called Mr. Detective—"

"Just kidding"
"But Amayori-Kun, how did you learn about those things?"
"How did I learn? Well, ever since I was a kid, I've been reading and watching some mystery and urban legends things. It was the only hobby that I'm onto"
2 girls arrive, who look like they're Sato's friends.
"Oh, you didn't join Shoukyo and Zera?"
"Nope, we just skip for today— (Who is that guy Sa-chan? He is good-looking for some reason)"
"Hey, what are you saying? Also, do you remember him?"
"That guy? If I met someone like him before, there is no way I won't notice him"
"Huh? Did you know Mr. Detective from Detective Club when we were in grade 8?"
I don't know what they are talking about but I heard the word "Mr. Detective '' and I did tell her not to mention it to others.
"Ahhh!!! Ma-Kun? Eh? I didn't notice that you are that Amayori, sorry I'm sucking at memorizing old names"
"No, it's okay" well, on top of that, I didn't know her. I barely remember Kaga.
It seems the room doesn't have many students. Well, it's expected that they'll choose to play more than study.
"15 student's only here? Anyway, please students, be settled down and don't make any noise. This meeting is important. Vice president Kawaragi, if you don't mind giving the speech now"
It seems the only students in our class are Sato, Shoukyo, Zera, Kazanawa, and me. The rest is Class-A, Class-C, Class-D, and other grade levels from 7 to 9.
The vice president walked toward the stage and started to talk.
"Student. All of you, I wanted you to draw S on the air"
All of the students obeyed. A big shock that all of the students don't think it was impossible. Maybe this is a hologram or something high-tech.
"Silent please, as you can see students. I know all of you think that this is not possible, but it is. It is a hologram, this is a high-tech school. But first, I'll discuss this S."
"This S is called the S system, the meaning was student's Status. Your name was at the top of it. Not only the name is inside the S. Points, progress percentage, rank, race, and family were on it. All of you still don't know about the S system yet but, you all have to wait until the second quarter. There will be a big event will be happening in the second quarter—"
"Wait a minute. All of you, what world where you from"
A sudden question from a guy who butts in while the Vice president.
"S system?, Practicing Archery and Kendo? Those things are you guys kinda preparing us to battle. I am Kaegara Sukano, the great general of Amaterasu"
And everyone was looking at him. Seems like they see him as an idiot.
"Hey, everyone. I'm just kidding"
He laughs like it's normal to him.
"Well then, we will again discuss the rules. Inside of this room. All of you will be the ones who'll manage and control every class from 7 to 10. Kaga Takase, Amayori Takayaji, Sato Hakenami, Katakenawa Hikose, Damagaha Kotori, and Tagamishi Sakuno. I expect you all to handle the classes. And the rest, you can have the command of the following student that I didn't call"
Give me a break, please. I don't want work that makes me tired.
By the time of 3 pm. We now head to our Kendo and Archery clubs.
We all do Kendo and Archery training until 5.
Students are starting to go back to their rooms at the school dorm. I already got tired and packed my things and had already gone home since it was already 5 and they allowed us to go home by 5 pm.
"I'm tired. I did so much today. I guess it will be every day"
