Chapter 24: Danzo Rage
---The First Intermarriage---
Not even a week later, someone from the Uchiha Clan decided to marry into the Uzumaki Clan.
This news came as a surprise not just to the Uchiha Clan but also to Raiken. The man was Uchiha Sukuna, a 30-year-old who had long wanted to get married. However, due to his age, average appearance, and the fact that he only had a one-tomoe Sharingan, he had never been popular and found it difficult to find a wife. That's why, when the clan leader opened a path for inter-clan marriages, he registered without hesitation.
On the Uzumaki side, Hana was a 21-year-old widow with a one-year-old son. She had lost her husband during the attack on Uzushiogakure by the other villages. Though not particularly talented in fuinjutsu, she understood she needed a pillar of support in her life, especially for the sake of her young child.
So, she agreed to marry into the Uchiha Clan.
During their first meeting, Sukuna's body tensed up as he saw Hana holding her child.
Such a beautiful woman, Sukuna thought. Hana was actually only moderately attractive—perhaps a 6 out of 10 stars—but to a 30-year-old man like him, she looked stunning.
"Hi," Hana spoke first.
"Uh... hmm... hi. I'm Uchiha Sukuna, 30 years old," he introduced himself stiffly.
Hana was a little taken aback by how serious and tense he seemed during the introduction.
She smiled and replied, "Hi, I'm Uzumaki Hana, and this is my son, Uzumaki Tanjiro."
For a moment, the 30-year-old man forgot how to breathe. Seeing her smile, only one thought entered his mind: I'd be a fool if I let this chance go.
From their first date to the second, Sukuna even had moments where he held the toddler in his arms. After seeing how excited Sukuna was to take care of her child, Hana finally made her decision—she would accept him as her next husband.
Their marriage took place just a few days later. It wasn't unusual, considering Sukuna's age and the customs of their village. People here didn't date for long; once both sides agreed, marriage followed quickly.
Sukuna and Hana not only received the approval of both clans, but also financial support. They were given a newly built house that Raiken had prepared for otsutsuki descendant.
Because of Uchiha Sukuna and Uzumaki Hana marriage, the other also followed suit.
The first wave of marriage come from widow and a year after that the girls who are unmarried also got married with them.
---The Power Of Healing Scroll---
A/N: I changed the title from clan leader to master. At first, I wanted to call Raiken a young master, but I feel like master is more suitable.
"Master," said Kenshiro. "We did it—the third level of the healing scroll!"
It took the three of them one day to create the first-level healing scroll, three days for the second-level, and a full week to complete the third-level scroll.
"Really? Have you tested it on a shinobi?" asked Raiken.
"Yes," Kenshiro replied. "There was a Chūnin who was gravely wounded. He had just been brought back from a mission and admitted to Konoha Hospital. We volunteered to treat him, and the medic-nin there gave us permission. The result was even better than expected—it's more effective than the Healing Bite!"
He held up a scroll. "This contains the details of his injuries. Please take a look."
Raiken took the scroll, unrolled it, and read through the report. His expression shifted to one of surprise as he realized how severe the injuries were. The bladder had been destroyed, and the arm was nearly amputated. Yet, after using the healing scroll, the shinobi had recovered completely.
He nodded with satisfaction and closed the scroll.
"What was the reaction of the medical ninja?" asked Raiken.
"They were shocked and immediately asked us about the healing scroll," Kenshiro said. "We told them it's an Uzumaki Fūinjutsu scroll, and they were eager to learn how to make it."
"It was Arata who explained to them that it isn't easy to craft," added Hiroki. "He also told them that the Uzumaki will sell it to the village instead."
"Did you tell them the price?" Raiken asked, turning to Arata.
"Yes, I did," Arata answered. "I said the cheapest scroll would cost no more than a bowl of ramen, and they were pleased with that."
"Good," said Raiken. "We mustn't reveal the true cost of the third-level scroll. It's expensive—and only shinobi undertaking high-risk missions will be willing to pay for it without hesitation."
He stood up and gave his final instructions. "Check the rumors circulating in the village, and don't forget to advertise. In two days, we'll open the shop at the designated location."
---Konoha Reaction---
The news that Konoha would be opening a shop selling healing scrolls as cheap as a bowl of ramen quickly spread throughout the village.
Civilians were the most excited—especially those with family members serving as ninja.
As for the clans, reactions varied. Some were pleased, while others merely sneered at the Uzumaki, viewing them as cunning opportunists who used their talents to make money instead of contributing selflessly to the village. However, none dared to voice these thoughts openly.
Inside the Hokage office, Danzo's face was tense with displeasure.
"Look at this, Hiruzen. They've already started," Danzo said.
"Danzo, the healing scrolls will benefit the village," Hiruzen replied calmly.
"I know that. But this means the Uchiha will gain even more power. They've already married into the Uzumaki, and soon the rest of them will follow," Danzo said.
"So, what do you suggest, Danzo? I'm giving you full authority to handle the matter," Hiruzen said, leaning back in his chair.
Danzo paused, then smirked. "Let me see the agreement."
Hiruzen opened a drawer and pulled out the agreement signed between the Uzumaki Clan and Konoha. Danzo began reading it. The deeper he read, the deeper his frown became—until he reached the third clause.
"Are you out of your mind?!" Danzo shouted, throwing the papers back at Hiruzen. "This third clause protects the children born from the Uzumaki-Uchiha alliance. Even if they carry the Uchiha name, we're forbidden from touching them! Hiruzen, why would you agree to something so foolish?"
"Danzo, didn't you just say you had a plan? And now you're criticizing me?" Hiruzen replied coolly.
"I did have a plan for dealing with the Uzumaki-Uchiha alliance. But because of this clause that you agreed to, there's no way I can act unless you unilaterally break the agreement," Danzo said.
"Impossible," Hiruzen answered. "If I break the agreement, Lady Mito will be furious—and the villagers will realize the Hokage doesn't honor his promises."
