Chapter 1 - Valerus Marina

Drip Drop Drip Drop

On a dark rainy night, a young man plays games on his pc.

The only light source comes from a room.

The four things that are present are

The monitor, the keyboard, the mouse,

and the headphones.

The sounds of the keys won't stop clicking.

The lights on the screen won't stop flicking

The scenery on the screen frequently changes as the pace of the game picks up

The headphones the man wears got flooded with pleas to win.

The clicking sound won't stop as the match reaches the end.

The room's sound goes silent.

The man's eyes follow the images that fill the screen.

The image on the screen is something the man didn't want to see.

A four-letter word that no one wanted to see.

The pulse of the man races as the number of items present reduces to three.

One by one the 4 items on the desk got tossed around.

Items started flying from east to west.

"AHHH. Stupid game. Stupid teammates if they were still alive to help me we could've one they put their blame on me" the man says to himself. He gets off his chair with the many books and anime figures displayed in the case surrounding his gaming setup.

The man takes a step out of his room, takes a deep breath and sighs. "Mom am going to the store, do you want anything?" The man asks.

"No, I'm fine" the lady responds.

He heads down a set of staircases.

"Why does it have to take so long to exit the house?"

The man enters his car and starts the engine.

"Huh the weather is pretty bad right now should I go out?" The man questions himself. "Eh whatever this will be my outing for today."

The man thinks to himself "am in my late 20s got bullied in school for being weird and overweight, didn't have any girlfriends, my friends are boring and do things that I don't like doing, am the end of all the jokes, am working at a retail store while my friends are all working set for life. I don't have that much social skills. I am overweight. I am a loser. HMPH my life sucks right now!" he yells out. "I WISH I COULD RESTART" he voices aloud.

Suddenly a white flash of light appears before him.

"Is that a car?"

AGHH

...

...

"Look. Look it's a boy" a woman's voice can be heard.

"A boy that's great honey." a man's voice joins hers.

"Huh I thought I was in my"

The boy stretches his arms out.

"Huh, tiny arms. Are these mines? I am a baby. My wish did work. I only see this in anime and novels. This is sick."

"Wow he got your eyes Marko," the woman says.

"Yes, you're absolutely right Lila," Marko responds.

They both have the boy close.

"These are my parents huh? This woman named Lila is my mother. She is beautiful with dimples on each side of her face, long blonde hair, beauty marks on her right cheek, and a beautiful and loving smile. On the other hand, the man Marko is my father has remarkable ocean-blue eyes with a slime face and spiky black hair like an anime character. Marko is taller than Lela as he can see over her." the boy thinks.

"Alright, what shall we name him?" Lila asks.

"Something creative, something unique no other person would have? How about Paul?" Marko says.

"Paul really? That's a common name to name your son. I guarantee you there are at least 5 Pauls that I could run into getting coffee when I was in the real world." the baby thinks.

"Good but something unique? How about Valerus? It means strong" Lila suggests.

"Oh that's a good one honey Valerus Marina has a nice little ring to it" Marko agrees.

"Valerus, that's a good one, never heard that one. Wait, I am actually feeling kinda hungry. I should do this"

WAH WAH

"Okay, time for feeding time." Lila lowers her top revealing her chest area.

"I've just realized is it wrong to be doing this since - ah never mind no beginnings a fresh start for me" Valerus wonders.

Moments pass by.

The door opens from behind them.

"Milady, was the delivery successful? Are you okay?"

"Yes, Vincent, am I fine ? You want to hold him?"

"If I my"

A man walks in; he seems to be the butler. A tall man with a medium build. With short black hair tied in a ponytail, and black eyes. He looks not that much older than Marko but certainly is older. Is this family rich? Are we royalty?

"Wow hello there may the Lord bless him with good health and faith"

"Yes of course," Lila says.

"That means this boy is a couple of months younger than Eriko," Vincent says.

"Oh yes that is right the two can practically grow up with one another," Marko says.

We then take a step outside the room.

A long hall filled with beautiful vases and paintings. Maids and butlers lined up against the wall.

"Congratulaions Lady Lila"

"Congrtualtions Sir Marko the boy will be strong as you one day."

"Thank you all for your kind wishes" Lila says with a smile holding Valerus in her arms.

"Thank you guys for today, you didnt have to be lined up like this." Marko says with sincerity as he urges them to head to their rooms.

"We insisted we be here."

"I tried my best sir, they wouldn't leave until they saw the baby," Vincent says.

"I see. I thank you all then"

"Woah we really are royalty."

The group finally stops and steps onto the mezzanine that has giant windows showing the world that Valerus will be living in.

The sun gazes as it shows a busy, lively street, with many buildings, mages using magic to get around, and people laughing, smiling, and having fun. The streets are made of cobblestones. Surrounded by mountains that serve as its backdrop adds to its beauty and has shaped the city into what it is today. The Magical City of Kubridge.

"This is the life I was hoping for a restart," Valerus thinks to himself.

"You think he'll do fine honey," Lila asks. "Of course he is our son after all," Marko reassures her.

"Am sure the young master will grow into a great mage" Vincent says.

"We wish the same for Eriko as well. I hope they can both get along." Vincent says.

"Am just wondering what kind of mage he will be."

"The greatest mage of them all. Maybe one day rule this nation."
