Chapter 27 - Moments before death

I turned into a cat and hurried to the village. I found the warrior lying on the ground, and beside him were some keys. I made them smaller, tied them around my neck, and continued toward the village.

Soon, warrior Sula arrived on her horse. When she saw him lying there, she jumped down quickly and cried, "Warrior, wake up!" She pressed her ear to his chest. "I hear his heartbeat!" she screamed. As I kept moving toward the village, I heard her calling, "Mirta! Come quickly!"

Moments later… the warrior died.

On my way, the boy Capelli stopped me.

"Stop, cat! I was looking for you. Have you seen my father, the warrior? You've become beautiful… and you're wearing small keys!"

I raised my tail and shook my head until the keys jingled, then I ran back toward the warrior's place. Capelli followed me until we heard a voice call, "O Capelli, come here!"

Warrior Sula was sitting, crying beside the warrior's body. She whispered, "No… you killed the dinosaur, hero…"

I stood before her and shouted, "What did you do to my father? I am Capelli!"

Sula's eyes narrowed. "How did you appear now? Are you a human monster in the form of his son?"

Capelli stepped forward. "Let me see my father!"

"Stay away, or I will kill you, wild cat! You brought your soldiers in human form!" Sula drew her sword and grabbed the boy.

"No… no…" Capelli murmured before fainting.

When he woke, he crawled to his father's face, blood dripping from his wounds, and tears from his own eyes. "Father… wake up. It's me, Capelli. I've missed you for so long… I have your keys. Your keys will never be lost. Dad… your smile is my soul."

Suddenly, the warrior opened his eyes and smiled weakly.

Sula urged, "We must get him to the village quickly. He needs urgent aid!"

Capelli hugged him tightly, crying. "Dad, don't leave me… I'll carry you on my back. Horse, fly like a bird! Why did you let your warrior get hurt?"

The horse's eyes glowed as Sula tried to calm it. "Your keys will be safe."

"What's wrong with the horse?" Capelli asked.

"He wants to carry the warrior," Sula replied.

"No! I will carry him!"

"He will fly him to the village," she insisted.

"You're mocking my words," Capelli muttered.

"As long as this cat is here, he won't fly," she said sharply.

"This cat brought me to my father," Capelli defended. "I won't let you harm her."

Sula glared at me. "You cursed woman… you took the keys."

Her tone made my fur stand on end — she wanted to kill me. The horse's eyes burned like fire, so I fled toward the village, with Capelli running after me.

The horse took off into the sky, carrying the warrior. Sula chased Capelli until she reached him and stopped him.

"The horse has flown," she said softly. "Your father is at home."
