Chapter 3 - Chapter2: McReynolds High school

"Are you sure you're ok?"Jenny couldn't help but ask.

"Ohh yeah I'm okay. Thanks" Kayne replied while scratching his neck.

It must have been awkward with the way I was staring at her.

Kayne thought as he picked up his glasses.

"Steven. Are you really going to keep being childish?"Jenny said while glaring at Steven.

"Ohhh saint Jenny, always around to save the losers."

"You know what Steven. The ethics teacher is in class, I feel like you would seriously need it"

Steven's accomplices stifled a laughter from Jenny's reply causing Steven to frown.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha....."

Steven's cold laughter echoed in the hallway.

"Alright Kayne. You've been chosen by the saint, enjoy it while it lasts" Steven said looking at Kayne eerily.

"Not all angels are good" He muttered loud enough for Kayne to hear. Then walked off.

What the hell is he saying? That guy is crazy.

Kayne thought as he nodded to Jennie while turning to walk away.

"Where are you going?"

Kayne paused in her voice 'Is she talking to me?'

Before he knew it she was in front of him.

"I'm going to class. You said the teacher is around, "he replied.

With a surprised gaze she asked "Aren't you going to visit the infirmary?"

Ohh right,I should get my wounds treated. Guess I've gotten used to living with anything.

"I guess I should. Thanks" Kayne replied, still distracted.

"Let's go together," Her voice came in again.

"Uhhh. Shouldn't you be in class?" Kayne asked inquisitively.

"It's okay. Missing one class would not reduce my rank as the no1"

Kayne couldn't believe his ears.

McReynolds might not care about morals and relationships amongst students, but they are strict with academics.

Kayne didn't say anything anymore, he just proceeded to the infirmary.

The journey to the infirmary was long and awkward for Kayne as no one had ever shown that much innocent interest in him.

When they got to the infirmary Kayne was moved to a special room where he was attended to.

In front of the room Jenny stood patiently as Kayne's bruise was treated.

Kayne could notice how Jenny related with the staff in the infirmary; she was either smiling or waving at them.

He couldn't help but smile at her cute actions.

"Your smile is beautiful. Why don't you smile often?" Jenny couldn't help but ask on their way back to class.

"Because I can't afford it,"Kayne replied expressionlessly.

"I noticed your glasses are not recommended also. Your eyes are beautiful, why are you hiding that?"

"Why do you want to know? We're not close" Kayne replied uninterested.

"Because I want us to be," she replied immediately.

"Thanks for today," Kayne said as he headed towards class without looking back.

Jennie just stood there with a strange resolve in her gaze, she smiled as she also moved to class.

Immediately she left, Steven came out from hiding.

His gaze now calmer and mature.

Is this psycho really interested in him?

Or is she just playing a new game?

Well let's see if our dear Kayne can handle the manipulative Jenny

Steven thought as he burst into cold laughter, echoing the empty hallway.
