Chapter 29 - A Public Trial

"In the dance of courtship, politics always leads..."

Eira woke up to find herself on a bed in an unfamiliar chamber. She tried to get up, but soon discovered her hands and feet were strapped to the bed, keeping her trapped.

She sunk her head back, and let out a wince. The slaps from the general made her face feel heavy, she rolled her tongue around where two of her teeth were meant to be.

'What a mess.' she thought, taking in her surroundings.

Unlike her chamber, this one was much plainer, and smaller. Save for the bed, she couldn't see any other furnishing, save for the wooden chair by the lonesome window.

'Did the general bring me here? Or was it someone else?' she wondered, she recalled passing out in the middle of Lyra and the general's skirmish, which meant she had no idea of what would happen next.

Thankfully, her curiosity was satisfied when the chamber door was pushed open and in came Kaidara, alongside her handmaid, Lysette.
