Synopsis
In a world trapped in a 500-year war, even survival requires becoming a soldier. For five hundred years, the Beastlic Conquest led by the power-hungry Beastmen has plunged the world into endless war, crushing any hope for peace. Reborn in this brutal era, James—now known as Lind Heifort—finds himself in a militaristic empire where survival often means becoming a soldier. Unlike the heroes of the stories he once read, Lind possesses no special powers and only a small amount of mana. Yet despite this disadvantage, he is reluctantly pulled into the Empire’s army and forced to fight in a war that has consumed the world for centuries. But as Lind struggles to survive the battlefield, he begins to realize that the war itself may not be what it seems. Hidden in the shadows are schemes far older—and far darker—than the conflict itself.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 0 | Prologue

Have you ever wondered? What would happen next after death? Some may say that you would go to heaven or hell, some believes that you would go to the afterlife, others believe that you would just turn into a spirit.

But me? I'd say I want to go to another world if I ever ended up dying, it sounds pretty cool doesn't it? However, that'll be on the back of my head for the rest of my life I think.

Don't get me wrong though, it's cool and all, but I have friends and family that I don't want to leave behind.

And besides, typically those who end up in another world based from what I have read, is either a pitiful individual who's just miserable or a transfer, could be solo or a lot of people.

But I don't want those, my life isn't miserable, in fact quite an opposite to it, I have high grades, a lot of friends, a loving family, have a lot of money, play video games and reading light novels as well as Manga.

See? life is peaceful and full of sunshine to it, I don't want these days to end. I hope I haven't set a red flag... right?

"Uh, hey James! You're done with your stuff? Our friends are waiting outside of the campus, I'm sure they're already complaining there." Said by Angela, a cute and adorable girl who already has her backpack on her back and is raring to go.

Now that my brief peace has been broken, I finished writing on my notebook, then picking up my things and put it in my backpack. Standing up, I face her bright smile returning it with a brief smile.

"Alright, I'm ready."

Then for a moment, I look back on my desk, where the sunlight bathes it with its warm glow, the breeze of the wind, and the chirping of the birds on the nearby trees.

'So peaceful, life is truly the best.'

"How's the exam, hm? let me guess... you failed Calculus didn't you?"

"James! Ugh! Don't rub it in! Let me at the very least forget it for today..."

I broke up a laugh as I began teasing her nonstop.

'This is really the best.'

On a dark room where only a couple of lit candles are present lies two people, one is kneeling toward the other figure, while the said other is standing, its back facing the person kneeling.

"Sir, the preparations are done, we can now initiate the Operations according to the laid out plan, we just only need your word."

"... I see." The figure did not utter a single word more, as if only needing confirmation.

The person kneeling, already completed its task, proceeds to rise up before bowing then leaving the dark room.

After the door closes, the man silently walks across the room, only stopping in front of a portrait hanging on the wall.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" A dark ominous laugh surrounded the room just as the man subtly touches the portrait.

"May the blessings of the continuity help us... slay the ignorance upon us." With a wicked smile on its face, it resumes to laugh in a space devoid of any presence.
