As Rayleigh followed Mr. Rheyes with Alex, he still had so many questions.
"Alex, what are Null Entities?"
"Not sure, Ray, but whatever they are, they got Uldess worried."
As they reached the entrance of the school, Mr. Rheyes created a casting circle and shot an anchoring enbindment at the front door.
"What was that for, Sir? All it did was hit the door and disappear."
Mr. Rhyses was removing his clothes and taking a staff out of his pocket. Rayliegh decided not to ask how that was possible.
"Rayleigh, when we are out, please call me by my proper name, Uldess. That spell I cast was an enchantment spell; it is just to make sure Rita can't escape the school grounds."
Rayleigh felt a shiver go down his spine. If Uldess was setting up protection, how dangerous is a null entity?
"There is no need to worry, this is just so it can't escape, and so we can't lose it. Now then, Alex, Rayliegh, I would suggest arming yourselves."
Alex took the necklace around his neck and muttered something, and the necklace began to glow and transform. When the glowing stopped, Alex was holding a shield and a whip.
"Alex? Are you sure that a whip and a shield are the best options for this? I mean, first of all, you need a lot of space to swing a whip around, and that shield looks heavy and wouldn't it interfere with your ability to use the whip effectively?"
Alex gained that smug grin that Rayleigh could barely put up with.
"Relax, Ray, the shield is extremely light, and the whip is more of a rapier than a whip. I can use Adrin to make to whip move as I please and harden it so I and use it like a sword, this is the reason it is called the armored viper."
Rayleigh could just hit Alex when he was like this, even though he and Alex have been friends from birth, Alex was always the more social one, not saying that Rayleigh wasn't popular, it's just that he had trouble starting conversations with people, meaning he had trouble making friends. Alex, knowing this, would from time to time tease Rayleigh by showing off his confidence in a way that he knew would irritate Rayleigh.
"Alright, Rayligh, now show me what you have learnt from Alex."
Rayleigh pushed his annoyance at Alex to the side and focused on creating a weapon. He knew he had to be strategic about the weapon he was going to materialize. The weapon needs to be able to attack at medium to long range, does not need a lot of space to use, and needs to be easy to use. At that moment, he knew what to materialize: a yari spear. It met all requirements. Rayliegh started to focus on the shape of the blade, how heavy it would be, the type of metal, the type of wood, and how thick the wood was going to be[1], how long the shaft was going to be[2]. Finally, after going over everything, he forced the Adrin to take the shape of the spear.
"Not a bad choice of a weapon, Ray. Of course, you would choose a weapon that would be easy to use with no experience, and it is perfect for tight spaces."
Rayliegh felt pleased with him self and looked at the spear in his hands. He noticed that there was a strange symbol on the blade, but he didn't pay attention to it.
"Right, now that we are all ready, let g,o shall we?"
Uldess started to walk over to the front door with Alex and Rayliegh following behind.
