-------------------------

Year: 982 (Earth Year)

Place: Roots of Yggdrasil

At the roots of Yggdrasil stands a family of gods, watching their youngest members awaken their divinities.

Right now Loki and Thor are touching the Roots of Yggdrasil, channeling its energy and trying to awaken their powers.

It isn't easy to awaken a divinity, but through Yggdrasil it becomes possible. You simply feed your divinities the energy flowing from Yggdrasil and BOOM they awaken.

Though Yggdrasil cannot awaken High Divinities, it still guides young gods toward the path they must follow.

Behind Loki and Thor, their family watches silently, wondering which divinities they will awaken, everyone except Odin.

Odin already knows what his sons will awaken. He feels heavy with guilt. Why? Because just like Loki, Thor also has a High Divinity that cannot be awakened through Yggdrasil.

'I'm sorry, Thor. I can't help you awaken your High Divinity of Runes. You have so much potential, just like your twin… but he is crucial to the plan that will free us,' Odin thinks to himself.

'Though… maybe Loki can help you awaken it. Yes… Loki could help you awaken it…'

'But only after the Norns and Those Who Sit Above the Shadows die,' he thinks again, anger rising.

Just as he's about to continue scheming, a pulse of energy interrupts his thoughts.

"It's beginning," Hela says with a smile. 'I can't wait to see which divinities these idiot brothers of mine will awaken. They're fools if they think they can defeat me,' she thinks, watching her brothers lovingly.

After a few minutes, Thor is the first to awaken his divinities and across the Nine Realms, phenomena erupt.

First, clouds gather over the Nine Realms and thunder rains down. But these are Divine Thunders, they don't harm anything except evil beings.

Second, people everywhere suddenly feel the urge to fight. Brother versus brother, husband versus wife, father versus son. Everyone clashed, though no one is injured and all end up laughing.

After a while, all mortals from Midgard except those who practice magic forget what happened and return to their daily lives.

Then a message appears in the minds of every Aesir god, Vanir god, and Asgardian:

"Thor, God of Thunder and Combat."

Hearing this, every Asgardian kneels and begins to chant his name in worship.

"Thor!"

"God Thor!"

"God of Thunder and Combat!"

"We will be safer now that another god has awakened!"

Every Asgardian kneels and begins to worship Thor alongside the other gods.

In that moment, Thor lifts his hand off the Roots and slowly rises. He looks at his hands, then at his body.

He smiles at his newfound strength and laughs. "Brother Balder! Let's fight! Hahahaha!" he yells.

Just as he's about to charge at Balder, Odin stops him.

"Thor. Wait for your brother to awaken his divinities," Odin says sternly.

Thor pauses, composes himself, and turns to watch Loki. After ten minutes with no sign of awakening, Thor can't help but ask: "Father, why is Loki's awakening taking so long?"

Odin is about to answer, but at that moment Loki begins to awaken as well. Another phenomenon unfolds, even more intense than Thor's.

First, an overwhelming tide of magic bursts from Loki. The magic saturates the air, absorbed by witches and wizards across 9 realms to strenghten themselves. Normal people, those without magic, feel uneasy under the weight of it, but say nothing.

After the witches and wizards take their share of magic from the air, the leftover magic seeps into the very worlds themselves, strengthening the planets.

Second, countless beings see illusions; visions of their past selves, of beautiful paradises or hellish nightmares, or other incomprehensible things.

After this second wave, the third begins, the most intense of all.

All across the Nine Realms, mortals, Asgardians, elves, and gods suddenly feel invisible strings attached to them, pulling them as though they are marionettes.

The strongest, like the gods, quickly cut the strings. For others it is not so easy. Witches, wizards, and sorcerers (those who borrow magic from other dimensions rather than wield their own) chant spells to free themselves, but to no avail. They cannot cut the strings.

They feel like characters in a story, doomed to follow what is written. Yet a few mortals, Asgardians, and elves at the very top of their kind like The Sorcerer Supreme, Elf Queen, a handful of elite elven mages, generals of the Asgardian army manage to cut the strings after great effort.

(A/N: For those wondering why some could cut the strings, it's because Loki is still weak compared to them. When he becomes stronger, he will be able to manipulate them however he wishes.

By the way he will get stronger quickly as I have a plan to make him quickly stronger)

After a while, all those who couldn't cut the strings forget they ever had them and go about their lives as usual.

This phenomenon ripples into other universes as well, though on a much smaller scale.

Of course, it catches the attention of powerful entities like Death, Eternity, and other abstract entities but they do nothing, confident that if anything is amiss, the Living Tribunal will handle it. Some glance at Loki from beyond his universe, then turn away.

But unluckily or perhaps luckily for Loki, someone far more powerful than anyone else in this multiverse takes notice.

"Hmm… now this is interesting. Someone got out of my story," a voice says.

Who is he? The One Above All.

He sits in a chair before a table, surrounded by books, pens, and papers.

He rises and walks into his vast library. After a moment, he pulls a book from the shelves. Its title is visible:

Loki, God of Stories.

He opens it and reads, and to his shock, it has changed. The story he wrote has changed!.

"Hahahahaha… finally, someone who can step out of my story."

"Hmm… let's help him a little. Otherwise he might fail, fail to give me a great story to read," he says, humming.

"Hm hm hm hm…" He hums while writing something in the book 'Loki, God of Stories'.

After writing for what feels like millions of years, he finally stops.

"Yes… yes. This is good. Although it is hard to write directly in his book, and altering what's already written is almost impossible, I can at least give him my gift," he says, smiling.

"Who would have thought he would already have a degraded version of my ****** before the story I wrote for him happened?" he murmurs, placing the book back on its shelf.

"Let's wait a while before reading his story. After all, it's been a long time since I enjoyed a tale I didn't write myself," he says, walking back to his desk and beginning to write something no one else could possibly comprehend.

...

(A/N: In the next chapter Loki will finally get his divinity. Altough it seems like I stopped the chapter in the middle, it can't be helped.

Today I wasn't even going to write a chapter. Why? I didn't have much time. For me I am posting this chapter at 7.05 pm. I woke up at 12 pm, I go to university, have my classes, get back to home at 5 pm, have a meal... So I didn't have much time. But I wrote a little when I was going to university and coming back to home. I write for 45 minutes more where now the time right now is 7 pm. And posting this 5 minutes later.

So it can't be helped that I finished like this. Anyway have a nice day)
