---After the Third Phenomenon (Stories Divinity Phenomenon)
After the third phenomenon, just like with Thor, a message appeared in the minds of every Vanir God, Aesir God, and Asgardian:
"Loki, God of Stories, Magic, and Illusions."
The Asgardians began worshipping Loki as well. His name echoed and was chanted across Asgard, though questions soon followed.
"Stories? What kind of god is that?" one male Asgardian muttered.
Hearing him, his wife quickly clamped a hand over his mouth. "Do you want to be killed?! Don't ever say anything like that!" she hissed angrily.
Luckily for him, no one else heard. And no one else dared to voice similar thoughts.
At the Roots of Yggdrasil, everyone was shocked by Loki's divinities—not by Magic or Illusions, but by Stories. It was the first of its kind to their knowledge, something like Fate Divinity as far as they could tell.
Frigga glanced at her husband, her mind racing. 'Was this the reason you summoned him to speak with you alone? I hope your plans don't end with our child's death, Odin.'
At that moment, Loki lifted his hands from the roots and felt his magic reserves skyrocket. His divinity reserves surged. His purity was off the charts. He felt connections to fate itself, like he could change how people acted, felt, or thought according to his wishes.
He could feel the power to create. Within moderation, yes but still, he could create. His own race. His own people. Change them as he pleased. Create swords, palaces, even worlds -small ones- like writing in a book and watching it become reality.
He was about to immerse himself further in his newfound power when his father's voice cut through his concentration.
"Son, how do you feel?" Odin asked.
Loki was about to answer, but his family caught a flicker of surprise in his eyes before he quickly masked it and replied, "I feel amazing, Father. I feel like a god of fate, creation, life… and many more."
"I felt all those divinities in my Stories Divinity, but it feels incomplete. Like it needs..."
"Like it needs more divinities or laws to absorb," Odin finished for him. "Am I right?"
"Yes, Father. I need to absorb others' divinities to make it more complete. Though I don't necessarily have to absorb, I can replicate someone's divinity if they let me. But those will be weaker and will need to be strengthened by me."
Hearing Loki explain what his divinity could do, everyone was stunned. None of them had expected something so powerful.
At that moment Odin said, "Let's head back to the palace. We're not safe here right now."
Everyone stared at him in surprise. 'Not safe? Here?'
Odin saw their confusion and spoke only one word: "Norns."
At that, everyone's eyes burned with anger. They understood instantly—the Norns could manipulate them with their Fate Divinities. They quickly teleported to the palace, materializing in the throne room.
After arriving, Hela immediately demanded answers from Odin.
"Father! What do you mean the Norns could manipulate us? If they could, then why aren't we slaughtering them?!" she shouted.
Odin sighed, sat on his throne, and began to explain everything.
---Loki's POV
It's been a few hours since we came back from the Roots of Yggdrasil and Father revealed the truth. The Norns. Those Who Sit Above the Shadows. Ragnarok. How they feed on the energy released during it.
Safe to say everyone was furious. Thor wanted to storm out and kill the Norns on the spot, but Father stopped him.
He explained how the Norns, with the help of Those Who Sit Above the Shadows, could manipulate some of us into betraying each other with their strings of fate. After arguing for a while, he revealed his plan:
Use my Stories Divinity to hold off the Norns' Fate Manipulation for a few hours while he battles Those Who Sit Above the Shadows. After he kills them, he will kill the Norns.
He also admitted that he had originally planned to choose a few loyal Asgardians to take the divinities of the Norns and Those Who Sit Above the Shadows. But now that it's known I can absorb divinities, he plans to let me take them instead.
Everyone seemed pleased at that—though they still wanted to fight. After hours of persuasion, Father relented and they began planning the battle.
Since I wasn't going to take part, I tuned them out and focused on the message window in front of me.
I first saw this window on the day I was born. Back then it only said this was a system—nothing more.
Now it seemed the system had upgraded.
I began reading the messages from the beginning, before the system upgrade:
