Chapter 29 - A Fair Game

IRIS 

Xander's presence was starting to make me feel uneasy, more than usual. Maybe it's the way he stared at me earlier like he was trying to read into my soul which makes me wonder if Hilda had mentioned something to him and if she did, the least he could have done is make certain I was unaware. 

The palace was packed with activities in preparation for the after party of the Alpha-Beta ritual bonding which by the way I still know nothing about. Growing up, I never got to attend these ceremonies my step mother and Annika attended because I was at home doing chores, back then I was too happy to be included in whatever they include me in that I didn't mind. 

I was happy to sit in the kitchen while Annika cheerfully discussed the food she had eaten or people she met at those ceremonies or parties. Leaving the past in the past cause I refused to waste time feeling sorry for myself, I cornered into the hallway leading to Derek's quarters.
