The silence continued for a few more minutes before Xander finally nodded his head in agreement, if I didn't know better I would say I sensed some reluctance in him. Once that was settled, I straightened up and went to settle on the bed, ready to retire for the night.
However sleep didn't come so I have to lay there awake debating if I was doing the right thing. Will it be wise to make myself another target of Alpha Alec knowing how dangerous that would be? But how else are we going to bring him down? I couldn't think of anything else but that and after all I was prepared to do anything to achieve that goal, including putting myself in a potentially dangerous situation.
Somewhere between those thoughts, I doze off, only to be woken up hours later into the night by my nightmares. Heart pounding against my chest, I sat up, wiping tears from my eyes.
