Kai's POV
MY WHOLE day passed in a blur. I drowned myself in paperwork, in hopes that I'd forget about what happened this morning between me, Zane, and Dante. But it seemed like I was just fooling myself. There's no way to forget what happened because it bothers me. From the breakfast meal Zane bought, to the kiss, to the looks in his eyes when he left, and to Dante's threats.
It wouldn't have affected me too much if no one but me was involved. But Zane is involved, and it would affect my sister.
My guilt hasn't been resolved, and I think the world is too cruel for me today.
I was playing with my car keys when I paused after seeing the person sitting on the hood of my car. He was chewing bubble gum, eyes fixed on the ceiling while his legs were spread apart.
From my view, I could clearly see his sharp jaws, moving each time he chewed, and the coldness in his eyes, sharp and unexplainable.
