Zane's POV
THE WARM lights on the ceiling were the first thing I saw the moment I opened my eyes. The sun hadn't shone, but my mind was already awake. The warmth of the light stirred the memory in my head, sharp, vivid. Like it was meant to stay and never disappear again.
I lay on the bed, unmoving, lips pressed together, throat feeling sore. The spirit of the alcohol hadn't completely left my body. The remnants still lingered in the form of a hangover.
But the faint throb in my head was nothing compared to the painful rush of memory that surged in my mind.
Kai's face, the sharpness of his words, his violent glares, the sweetness of his lips.
Darn, I remembered everything!
His challenge, it was so clear in my head. I remember every single word he threw at me. I remember the coldness in his eyes when he shut me down again.
I have feelings for him. It's scorchingly clear to me now.
