Kai's POV
I was staring at Zari's terrified face when the man outside started knocking on my car's window. I saw how Zari flinched and her trembles worsened.
Zari looked at me, shaking her head. Her eyes mirrored her fear, and I gripped the steering wheel tight.
Without saying anything, I started the engine and drove the car. I saw how the man tried to run after us, but he stopped eventually and just stared. Probably memorizing my plate number.
I didn't ask Zari. I just continued driving until we reached a five-star hotel.
She looked at me again when we're already in the basement parking lot.
"K-Kai…"
I shook my head. "I don't think you can sleep in your unit tonight. Just stay here."
"Won't you," she paused and swallowed hard. "...ask who he was and why I ran away from him?"
I stared at her. "There are things better left untold. For your own protection and comfortability."
