Chapter 17 - The Family of Gods

"Son, it's time for you to learn everything I know about the Daos and the powers of this world.

Come, sit with me, and I'll tell you all that I can.

This world isn't just a world—it's part of a narrative system. Do you remember the ocean we visited? That ocean contains authors who write stories and shape timelines, determining how lower-level worlds begin and end.

In other words, our world is technically not a world at all. It's a higher realm that creates other worlds. It's the size of a universe rather than a mere planet—yet there are still realms far larger than this one.

This place doesn't require concepts to function; time and space are merely byproducts, existing to create new worlds and to give lower lifeforms like us a framework in which to exist—until we ultimately transcend this realm.

There are also higher realms here that create and destroy concepts themselves. These realms predate existence, and some are said to have trapped timelines from the very moment this world was first formed.

Anyway, son…

The most important thing you must understand is that we are in a story.

We are neither real nor fake—we are the byproduct of a creator… or perhaps the byproduct of a creator made by another creator. Either way, we are not the strongest beings in existence, but we are far from the weakest.

Now, it's time for you to begin cultivating. I must also speak with your mother, and teach her how to cultivate as well.

Fifteen trillion years passed, and my family eventually transcended our old world. But unlike me, they remained bound by the laws of that realm, keeping their original forms and sizes.

Still… that may change one day."
