In a forest at night, a young female teen wearing a black tank top, blue jeans, a bracelet on her right wrist, purple and white tennis shoes, and a black backpack was sprinting through it, tears pricking her eyes. "I can't go back to that place... I can't..." she said in a low voice.
(Flashback Begins)
At an orphanage, the teen was walking toward the bathroom in her pajamas. Before she entered, she heard a voice. "So, what do we do about Michelle Mercia?" it asked, which made her freeze up a bit.
Michelle turned her head to the living room. The caretakers are talking about me, she thought before sneaking toward it.
Michelle leaned against the wall before poking her head out a bit, revealing a middle-aged man and a middle-aged woman sitting at the coffee table. "I mean... she'll be eighteen in six months," the male caretaker said. "What can we do in this situation?"
The female caretaker sighed. "Unfortunately, we have to follow protocol once an orphan turns eighteen," she said. "When she ages out, she has to leave the orphanage and defend herself."
The male caretaker nodded. "I'm well aware, but... is there really nothing we could do?" he asked.
The female caretaker shook her head. "Unfortunately, no... once she turns eighteen, she's legally an adult. We must send her on the streets," she said.
Michelle stared at the caretakers, devastated. How could they... she thought before sneaking away.
(Flashback Ends)
Michelle closed her eyes and shook her head before she looked forward with tears pricking her eyes again. "No matter where I go... something bad always happens," she said.
When Michelle reached a vacant street, she stopped running and tried to catch her breath before looking at her bracelet.
It was made of purple pony beads with a few white ones that said, 'BFF K&K'. "Kevin... Katelynn... I wish you two were here with me..." Michelle said as she brought it close to her chest and cried.
A raindrop landed on Michelle's shoulder, which surprised her and made her look at it. "I'll need to find shelter soon," she said in a low voice before looking around.
When Michelle looked forward, she was shocked to see the Playtime Co. Toy Factory in the distance as bright flashes of lightning lit the dark clouds behind her.
Michelle stared at the factory as the sky thundered. "To think I would see this again," she said before sprinting toward it.
Soon after, Michelle entered the factory and closed the door behind her. As Michelle tried to catch her breath, she looked forward and saw the main entrance.
Michelle walked forward and looked around. "I haven't been in this place for so long..." she said. "What happened to it?"
When Michelle reached the desk, she spotted a green VHS tape. Michelle picked up the tape and examined it. "Where did this come from?" she asked herself.
As Michelle looked around the area, she spotted a green VHS player in the corner of the room and a TV hanging above the corner. Michelle approached the VHS player and put the tape inside it.
Soon after, the screen above Michelle turned on, which made her look at it. "Hi, my name is Leith Pierre," the voice on the TV said.
Michelle turned her head away as the tape continued. "Leith Pierre... if I remember correctly, he's head of innovation after Elliot Ludwig passed away," she said.
"If you're seeing this, then you're trespassing," Leith said, which made Michelle flinch and look at the TV. "Yeah, we play this little tape on a loop whenever we close the factory for the day."
Michelle panicked a bit. "So, trespasser, just to make you aware... while we pride ourselves primarily on our high-quality toys and excellent childcare, we also pride ourselves on our security," Leith continued.
Michelle looked around. "For example, this facility is full of hidden motion triggers which, once set off, will turn on the factory's emergency alarms and directly contact the authorities," Leith said. "And... that's one of the more tame aspects of our security system; no spoilers!"
Michelle backed away a bit. "So, you've got my warning," Leith said. "It's not too late to turn around. I just hope that you're certain whatever you're doing is worth it."
When the TV screen turned off, Michelle was scared. "All I wanted was shelter... not this," she said before sprinting toward the front doors.
When Michelle reached for one of the doors, she realized something and stopped. "Hang on..." she said in a low voice.
Michelle pulled her hand away from the door before turning away from it. "I remember from a news article that the factory suddenly shut down on August 8th, 1995," she continued.
Michelle looked around the room. "About two and a half years have passed, and it looks like it's abandoned..." she said.
Michelle looked at her bracelet before placing her hand over it. "Maybe... maybe they're still inside the factory," she continued.
As lightning flashed in the dark clouds behind Michelle and the sky thundered, she clenched her wrist, determined. "If that's the case, I'm going to find them and get them out of here," she said.
After Michelle let go of her wrist, she turned her head to the left and saw the word 'Security' above the opening. "I'll need to see if I can find anything useful in the security room," she continued before approaching it.
When Michelle reached the security room's double doors, she noticed a colorful keypad, which made her click her tongue a bit. "Damn, I need a code," she said.
As Michelle walked away from the double doors, she looked down and crossed her arms. "Let's see... if I were an employee of this company, how could I obscure the code to the security door?" she asked herself.
When Michelle looked up, she noticed the words 'Gift Shop' on the other side. "I would probably hide it in the gift shop," she said before walking forward.
As Michelle entered the gift shop, she looked around the area. "Nothing so far..." she said in a low voice before walking forward.
When Michelle was near the counter, she noticed a dry red stain on it and a broken green robot-like toy, which made her freeze up, and her face was a bit pale. Hang on... is that— she got out of her thoughts when she heard a train whistle, which surprised her.
When Michelle looked up, she spotted a train suspended in midair, spinning around the room, which baffled her. "This place looks abandoned, and yet you still work," she said.
As Michelle examined the train, she noticed the colors on each piece and the arrows pointing left on the carts before realizing something. "Green, pink, yellow, red... that's the code for the door," she said.
Michelle looked at the red stain on the robot-like toy and counter before shaking her head and quickly leaving the gift shop. When Michelle reached the security room's double doors, she pressed the colored buttons on the keypad in order, which unlocked them.
Michelle smiled and pumped her fist in the air. "Let's fuckin' go!" she shouted before flinching and covering her mouth. "Still forgot about the security stuff..."
Michelle opened the double doors and entered the room before looking around. "There's got to be something useful here," she said.
When Michelle looked forward, she saw a TV with a blue VHS player and a device encased in the wall. Michelle looked at the device encased in the wall. "If that's what I think it is, that's going to be useful," she said before walking forward.
Michelle spotted a blue VHS tape on a desk next to a computer before approaching it. When Michelle was close to the desk, she grabbed the tape before approaching the TV and putting it in the player.
As Michelle stepped back, the TV turned on and played an instruction video for the device encased in the wall, a GrabPack.
Michelle looked at the GrabPack encased in the wall. "It's been a while since I've used one of these things; hopefully, I'm not too rusty," she said before looking at the video.
After the video finished playing, the case holding the GrabPack opened, which made Michelle approach it.
When Michelle was near the GrabPack, she took her backpack off before setting it on the ground. "I can't have both of these on my back," she said before grabbing one of the straps and putting it on.
After Michelle adjusted the GrabPack's straps, she noticed the blue hand on the left cannon-like arm and nothing on the right cannon-like arm, which irritated her. "Well, that's just great; how am I supposed to do things without the red hand?" she asked rhetorically.
Michelle sighed annoyingly as she grabbed one of her backpack's straps and held it in her right arm. "Whatever..." she said before approaching the opening. "Let's just find my friends."
After Michelle left the security room, she turned her head to the nonfunctional turnstile before approaching it. When Michelle was near the nonfunctional turnstile, she placed her bag onto the base of it before climbing onto it.
After Michelle stood up properly and picked up her backpack, she jumped forward before landing on the ground. When Michelle stood up properly, she looked forward and saw a large door shutter with a blue hand scanner above it before approaching it.
As Michelle stood near the door shutter, she turned her head to the left arm cannon before grabbing the handle under it. Michelle aimed the arm cannon at the scanner and placed her finger on the trigger. "Let's see if this works," she said before pulling it.
The blue hand shot forward and touched the scanner, activating it. Michelle smiled as the blue bar on the scanner started going up. "Sweet," she said.
After the scanner finished scanning the blue hand, it retracted back to the arm cannon before the door shutter started going up.
Michelle smiled at the blue hand as the door shutter created an opening. "Looks like you're gonna be very useful," she said before walking forward.
When Michelle entered the lobby, she was shocked to see an 18-foot-tall statue of a creature with blue fur, cartoonish bright red lips, and large black dilated eyes wearing a thin blue bowtie, standing on the center stage with large wooden blocks behind it: one H, one U, two Gs, and one Y.
Michelle walked forward. "To think I would get to see Huggy Wuggy again..." she said before stopping near the plaque and looking at the statue. "He looks just like how I remembered him all those years ago."
Michelle smiled at the statue. "I used to say hi to the statue all the time, and—" she interrupted herself when she remembered something. "Oh, that's right!"
Michelle knelt to the ground and placed her backpack on it before grabbing the zipper tab and unzipping it. Michelle dug her right hand inside her backpack before pulling out her Huggy Wuggy plush. "I still have your plush," she said.
Michelle let go of the arm cannon and dug her left hand inside her backpack before pulling out a plush similar to Huggy Wuggy, but with pink fur and eyelashes. "I even have a Kissy Missy plush as well," she continued.
Michelle smiled at the plushies. "Even though Doey is my favorite out of all of the toys, you guys are my second favorite..." she said.
As Michelle looked at the statue, she sighed as she put her plushies back in her bag. "It's not like I'm gonna get a response out of an inanimate object," she continued before grabbing the zipper tab and zipping it. "I just need to find my friends again."
After Michelle picked up her backpack and stood up, she looked at the statue's hand before grinning a bit and grabbing the arm cannon. Michelle aimed at the statue's hand before pulling the trigger, launching the blue hand and giving it a high five.
Michelle giggled as the blue hand retracted back to her. "I always wanted to do that when I was little," she said.
As Michelle looked around the room, she spotted a door shutter with a blue hand scanner and a red hand scanner, which made her groan. "I guess I'm not going there for a while," she continued.
Michelle turned her head to the left and spotted a door shutter with a blue hand scanner above it, which made her smile. "But I can go through there," she said before aiming at it and pulling the trigger, launching the blue hand.
When the blue hand touched the scanner, it started short-circuiting, which exasperated Michelle. "Or not..." she continued before sighing annoyingly. "Well, that's just great; what now?"
Michelle turned her head to the back and spotted double doors with the word 'Power' above them. "Maybe I can rewrite the power," she said before approaching them.
When Michelle was close to the double doors, she tried opening them, but they were locked, which irritated her. "Damn, I need a key," she continued.
Michelle heard something jingle behind her, which surprised her; when she turned around, she froze when she saw a key in the statue's hand.
Michelle nervously looked at the statue and aimed at the key in its hand. "I'll, uh... be taking that, Mr. Huggy," she said before pulling the trigger, launching the blue hand.
After the blue hand grabbed the key, Michelle pulled the trigger again, which made it retract back to her. Michelle grabbed the key from the blue hand before putting it in the lock and twisting it, which unlocked the double doors.
After Michelle opened the double doors and entered the room, she looked around. "Now, how to get the power back on?" she asked herself.
Michelle spotted an electric pole nearby. "Something tells me I need to wrap the GrabPack's cable around these electric poles," she said.
Michelle turned her head to the right and spotted a dry red stain on the wall, floor, and parts of a red dinosaur-like toy before quickly looking away as her stomach turned. Please don't tell me that's what I think it is... she thought before quickly shaking her head and walking forward.
As Michelle walked around the room, she noticed something flashing behind a gate with a red handle. "That must be the power source," she said before approaching it.
When Michelle was near the gate, she noticed large red stains on the walls, floor, and on a green robot-like toy's head on her right side before looking at it. "Those red stains again; are they...?" she asked herself.
Michelle gritted her teeth a bit and quickly shook her head. "C'mon, Misha, think logically; it can't be blood because toys can't bleed," she said. "It's probably paint or something..."
Michelle faced the gate and aimed at the red handle. "Just ignore the red stains in this place and focus on finding your friends," she continued before pulling the trigger.
The blue hand shot forward and grabbed the handle before it started pulling on it. Soon after, the blue hand pulled the gate off its hinges, which made Michelle look at it with a sweatdrop as it retracted back to her. "Hopefully, I won't get charged with property damage," she said.
When Michelle looked forward, she saw a power socket before she aimed at it and pulled the trigger.
The blue hand shot forward and touched the power socket, which lit the cable in a blue light. "Now, wrap this around the electric poles," Michelle said before backing toward the closest pole and wrapping the cable around it, which made the top of it light up.
After Michelle wrapped the cable around the other electric pole, the power turned back on, which made her smile as the blue hand retracted back to her. "Sweet!" she shouted before approaching the door. "Let's get to that scanner."
When Michelle left the room and looked forward, she noticed that the statue had disappeared, which shocked her.
Michelle rubbed her eyes and looked at the stage again, but the statue was still gone. "Did I imagine the statue being there?" she asked herself before placing her hand against her head. "It could also be that I'm sleep-deprived..."
Michelle shook her head before approaching the door shutter with the blue hand scanner. "It doesn't matter; I still have friends to find," she continued before aiming at it and pulling the trigger.
The blue hand shot forward and touched the scanner, activating it; soon after, it retracted back to Michelle before the door shutter made an opening.
Michelle looked in the hallway and saw a large sign reading 'Make-A-Friend'. "That sounds like a cute name," she said in a low voice before walking forward.
Halfway through the hallway, Michelle's blood ran cold when she saw a long blue arm near a partially open door on the left side before it pulled itself into the room and closed it a little.
