Chapter 1 - Pilot

In an island separate from the Pokemon World, there was Enotita City, a city where violence from pokemon is nonexistent, and pokemon capturing and battling is banned and frowned upon. However in an abandoned part of the city exists the Battle Roulette: an underground pokemon cage battle arena. Music blasts loudly as two trainers were engaged in a battle as an Alakazam teleports to the opponents Tyranitar as the Tyranitar lands a crunch on him and throws him back as Alakazam tries to land Psychic as Tyranitar fires a Dark pulse countering the psychic and Knocking the Alakazam out as the entire crowd goes crazy.

Announcer: "The Winner, by knockout: Rex!"

Rex: "YEAH! Who's willing to face the might of Tyranitar!"

The crowd explodes into cheers as Tyranitar roars welcoming anyone to try their luck against the pseudo legendary.

???: "Can I try, I've been waiting for ages."

The crowd all then turned to see that the response came from two kids and then everyone started laughing.

Nathan: "I don't think it was such a good idea to announce ourselves like that, Jason."

Jason: "Don't worry Nathan, let me cook."

Rex: You're telling me that this kid and his boyfriend think he actually has a chance? HAH!"

Jason: "Actually I'm 15 and pretty straight."

Nathan: "Yeah he keeps a poster of Nessa and Cynthia in Bikini's in his room."

The crowd roared with laughter as Jason elbowed Nathan's Arm, slightly embarrassed.

Announcer: "Beat it kids, you have to pay to participate!"

Jason: "Will $500 do?"

Rex: "Sounds good to me, regardless of whatever pokemon you end up with, I'm about to make the easiest $1,000 of my life."

After the Announcer takes Jason's $500, Jason walks to the roulette, he cranks the leaver as the wheel spinned and spinned until it finally lands at…

Announcer: "Pikachu!"

The crowd erupted in laughter.

Nathan: "I don't know why they're laughing, wasn't there a trainer who became a champion using a Pikachu?"

Jason: "I don't know, but I'm not thinking about that, cause I got this!"

Jason turns to give Nathan a smile and a thumbs up, Nathan then smiles and nods, letting Jason know he trusts him as he sends out Pikachu.

Rex: "Time for the easiest pay day of my life, Dark Pulse!"

Tyranitar fires off Dark Pulse as Jason commands Pikachu to use a quick attack dodging the Dark Pulse and hitting Tyranitar before jumping away to land a thunderbolt on Tyranitar which causes him to stumble.

Jason: "Nice job Pikachu!"

Pikachu: "Pika, Pika!"

Rex: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TYRANITAR, YOU'RE LOSING TO A DAMN PIKACHU!"

At that Moment, Tyranitar got pissed and used Rock Throw so Pikachu used Quick attack to dodge the rocks but Tyranitar got close enough to land a Crunch on Pikachu. After fighting off the pain, Pikachu used a double kick to free himself from Tyranitar but got caught in Tyranitar's earthquake which caused Pikachu to lose his footing.

Jason: "Pikachu, Use Iron Tail to get off the ground, then use the cage as footing!"

Pikachu then used Iron Tail on the ground to launch himself upward then used quick attack to land on the cage as he ran across while Tyranitar used Dark Pulse to hit Pikachu, but Pikachu jumped across the Cage landing Thunderbolt and using Quick attack to evade Dark Pulse and Rock Throw until Pikachu lands one final Thunderbolt which Paralyses Tyranitar causing Pikachu to land one final Iron Tail knocking Tyranitar out as Pikachu walks away smirking at his victory.

Announcer: "The winner…is Pikachu!"

Jason: "YEAH Baby! You're stronger than you look!"

Jason compliments Pikachu as he hi-fives Pikachu before he returns to his pokeball. He then walks to collect his $1,000 before going to meet Nathan outside.

???: "Hold up!"

2 guys then block Jason from leaving.

Dude 1: "There's no way you won legitimately."

Jason: "I don't know what to tell you guys, I won fair and square."

Dude 2: "Like Hell, a Pikachu can't be stronger than a pseudo legendary!"

Jason: "Maybe you should plan instead of relying on brute strength."

Rex: "What was that you little shit!"

Rex and Jason glare at each other until Rex and his boys turn as they hear sirens approaching. Jason took advantage by punching each of them in the face before running to the exit where Nathan was being as quiet as possible.

Jason: "START RIDING!"

Nathan: "GAHHHHH!"

Immediately Nathan started pedaling as fast as he could the moment Jason hopped on the bike and didn't stop until they made it back to Jason's house.

After biking all the way to Jason's house and evading the cops, they both collapse on the grass to catch their breaths.

Jason: "300, 400, 500, Here's your cut, equal as promised"

Nathan: "Thanks man, I really appreciate it."

Jason: "I'm just sorry I couldn't win you more."

Nathan: "Are you kidding me? whatever money you give me makes it so worth it, I just wish I could Pokemon Battle too"

Jason: "Why can't you? I'd bet you'd make an excellent trainer."

Nathan: "I don't have a strategy like you do!"

Jason: "Maybe you do, Maybe you don't, but you have something that makes all strategies irrelevant…Heart. All Pokemon Masters have heart, I'm just in it for the money."

Nathan: "I guess."

Nathan sits down as Jason sits down with him as the two of them stare into the stars.

Nathan: "You think there's hope for people like us?"

Jason: "Not here, but remember there's a whole world beyond this city we just have to find a way to get out."

Nathan: "Do you think my parents would be fine if I went on a Pokemon Journey?"

Jason: "If they love you, they'd want you to follow your dreams, Unlike mine."

Jason stares into the ground as Nathan puts his hand on Jason's shoulder before he gets up.

Nathan: "It's getting late, We have school tomorrow, bye Jason."

Jason: "See ya."

With that, Nathan bicycled away as Jason walked inside his home

Jason: "Please Arceus, Please…if you actually exist let me get to my room without…"

Mom: "Where have you been!?"

Jason groans as his mom catches him.

Jason: "I was hanging out with Nathan again, Shouldn't you be getting rest for work tomorrow?"

Mom: "Well it's hard to be ready when your only son is sneaking off at night participating in underground pokemon battles!"

Jason: "Well it is the coolest way to make money"

Mom: "It's barbaric and Inhumane!"

Jason: "and your job isn't? I'm surprised you haven't grown bags under your eyes."

Mom: "When you grow up, you'll learn about how the real world works!"

Jason: "In that case i'll continue living in delusion, i'm going to bed, goodnight!"

With that, Jason ignored his mom rambling at him as he shut and locked his room. He lays on his bed looking at the ceiling lost in thought as the moonlight shines across his room. He then covers his eyes as a tear rolls down his eye as he cries gently before going to sleep.

The next day, Jason prepares for school, not wanting to interact with his mom. He jumps out his window while doing a flip to land on his feet. However his mom had already left for work which irritated Jason as he could've just gone out the house the normal way. Regardless Jason decided to walk to school as Nathan bicycle rode next to him with a horde of wild pokemon following him.

Nathan: "Morning Jason."

Jason: "Oh…hey Nathan."

Nathan: "I'm guessing you didn't sleep well?"

Jason: "No I didn't, Especially with the constant dread and feeling of inadequacy."

Nathan: "Does it have to do with our conversation last night?"

Jason: "Yep, and I'm even more right considering all these wild pokemon happily follow you whenever you leave the house, I swear you're like a magnet!"

Nathan: "looks like i'm better at something huh?"

Jason: "Oh shut up!"

After walking for a little longer, the subject of the match yesterday plagued Jason's mind.

Jason: "Nathan, Have you noticed that was the first time we ever saw a Tyranitar?"

Nathan: "Now that you think about it, yeah. But then again Pseudo legendaries are incredibly rare don't you think?"

Jason: "Except we don't really see Pokemon…Angry, savage like that, it's almost bizarre, because normally wild pokemon attack trainers on sight, yet the one's here…are so nice it's infuriating!"

Jason looks down to see a wild Lillipup walk alongside him while rubbing his cheek against his leg just further proving his point.

Nathan: "Well at least you don't have to worry about wild pokemon attacking you."

Suddenly a group of Pidove's start pecking at Jason's head until Jason explodes like a Camerupt and runs away until he makes it to school.

Jason: "LEAVE ME ALONE YOU ANNOYING BIRDS!"

After that commotion, Jason and Nathan went to sit for their first class as the bane of both their existence showed up: Pierre.

Random Girl: " Hi Pierre, you're looking amazing!"

Random Girl: "Did you get a haircut, it definitely highlight your clothes"

Pierre: "Why yes I did, I'm glad you two cuties could notice."

Jason and Nathan: "Preppy bitch boy."

There's a reason why Jason and Nathan despised Pierre so much, not only has he had a much easier life from his family, but he's also bullied the pair endlessly since elementary school.

Pierre: "Well if it isn't the idiot brothers, Still busy trying to get your money up, broke ass boys."

Jason: "Nathan, hold me back before I sock him in the face."

Nathan: "I'll handle this. Hey Pierre, still overcompensating because your parents aren't home?"

Pierre: "At least my parents aren't struggling to make ends meet!"

Nathan: "And at least mine actually love me!"

Teacher: "Alright!...Enough hooliganism, time for class to begin!"

Pierre then sat down at his seat as class began. Minutes went by as Jason stared out the window as his eyes were glued to the horizon

Jason: One day Jason…One day!

Teacher: "Mr. Suketami, Is there something more important that you're not even paying attention to my lecture?"

Jason: "Huh, what, no, nothing whatsoever."

Teacher: "Actually you know what? come up here and tell the class what you were thinking because it's so much more important than actual school!"

Jason gets out of his seat unfazed as he confidently walks to the front of the class.

Jason: "Listen everyone and listen well! Because even though this city has a bullshit law about Pokemon battling, I'm going to become the greatest and richest Pokemon Champion Ever!"

The Entire classroom went silent until Pierre started laughing.

Pierre: "Ha, You imbecile, you're broke as shit, you couldn't even be a Pokemon Trainer let alone a champion!"

The entire classroom then started laughing as Jason got more and more enraged, Nathan saw this and sighed preparing himself for what was to happen.

Jason: "SHUT UP YOU PRISSY BOY!"

Jason throws a piece of chalk straight at Pierre his head knocks back a bit on impact, He slowly shifts his head back as He and Jason start fighting in the middle of the classroom as Nathan simply watched Jason whoop Pierre's ass.

Teacher: "ALRIGHT BREAK IT UP!"

Jason and Pierre: "SHUT UP!"

Jason and Pierre simultaneously punch the Teacher in her face. Silence filled the classroom as Jason and Pierre's eyes widened as they realized what they had done.

Nathan: "Oh they are so dead."

Teacher: "PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE, BOTH OF YOU, NOW!"

The Teacher screamed as Jason and Pierre simply glared at each other.

After waiting for what seemed like half an hour, with Jason tapping his foot impatiently. Pierre finally walks out of the Principal's office as he doesn't even look or say anything as Pierre walks by Jason.

Principal Rite: "Mr.Suketami?"

Jason then walked with a blank look on his face as he sat down preparing for a harsh talking to. However, Principal Rite simply stared at him before continuing to talk.

Principal Rite: "So it's come to my knowledge you want to be a Pokemon Trainer right?"

Jason: "Yes sir, it's a stupid dream, I'm delusional, yeah yeah."

Principal Rite: "I wasn't about to say that."

Jason: "Yes you were, that's what everyone in this school keeps telling me!"

Principal Rite: "Well let me surprise you by saying, I want to understand you."

Jason paused as Principal Rite pulled out a folder of files containing Jason's information.

Principal Rite: "From what I gather, for being a student known for yelling and getting into fights, you actually have solid grades. You have potential in just about any career you choose, so why choose a Pokemon Trainer, hmm?"

Jason was taken back, no one aside from Nathan ever wanted to hear his reasoning to be a trainer, but Principal Rite did.

Jason: "Well it's just…My Mom works a 9-5 Job almost every single day, even though she's able to make ends meet and put food on the table, she alway comes back home tired and exhausted, she's almost like a zombie. Pokemon Trainers, especially champions, look so alive everywhere. They inspire others and pokemon with the way they talk and battle, and they make ridiculous amounts of money doing so. I just…want to know what it's like…to feel alive…without worrying over money."

Principal Rite just starred and listened to Jason's entire story as tears rolled down his eyes while looking at his knees. Jason immediately wiped his eyes as he tried to regain his composure.

Principal Rite: "Look Jason Suketami…even though it's a noble dream, wanting to give your mother a better life and achieve greatness. But you won't find that dream anywhere here."

Jason: "I know."

Principal Rite: "But…I may have a proposal to you"

Jason: "Sir?"

Principal Rite: "Well, My good friend Professor Hazel is offering an internship opportunity and asked me to find any suitable candidates."

Jason: "Wait…are you saying?"

Principal Rite: "Look, I shouldn't be telling you this, but a ship is coming to pick you up…This might be your only chance to accomplish your dream to become a champion so if I were you, I'd take full advantage of it."

Jason stares in disbelief as Principal Rite hands him two invitations for the internship.

Jason: "I…I…Thank you…THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR!"

Jason cries uncontrollably as he hugs Principal Rite.

Principal Rite: "Yes, Yes…The ship comes tonight at the pier so I recommend handing the other invitation to your friend Nathan, since the Professor would appreciate his ability to connect with Pokemon."

Jason: "Yes sir, Thank you so much Sir!"

Principal Rite: "Remember, not a word to anyone about this."

Jason: "Don't worry sir, I got this."

Jason gave Principal Rite a thumbs up as he walked out of his office. Afterward, Jason told Nathan all about the Internship opportunity with Professor Hazel at Kalos.

Jason: "So the boat leaves tonight at the pier, This is our chance Nathan, it's our destiny!"

Nathan: "I mean, all of this is really exciting, but what about my parents? I can't just leave them."

Jason: "I already told you, if they love you, they'll support you. My mom is definitely gonna say no, so I'm sneaking out."

Nathan: "What if she finds out?!"

Jason: "Well i'm hoping we make it to Kalos before then, Either way i'm not missing out on this Nathan, i'm tired of being in a place where my dream is unachievable. You want to be a trainer as well Nathan, then take this chance, because I'm leaving this damn city with or without you!"

Jason then walked off, leaving Nathan with much to think about in a short amount of time. That night when Jason's mom was fast asleep, Jason packed up clothes and snacks all inside his backpack as he went to step out the window. He stops himself as his body turns to find his mom, sleeping on the couch. Jason looks at her before kissing her on the forehead before finally going back upstairs and jumping out the window. As Jason ran across fields of grass, his heart raced rapidly as his legs moved faster and faster as the biggest smile planted his face as the wind blew by Jason's face as he kept running faster and faster with Pokemon Flying above him feeling like this was the first real instance of freedom he's ever felt in his life.

Even though he had arrived at the Pier early, Thoughts ran through Jason's head as he began to think about all the worst possible scenarios as he waited for Nathan to show up before the Ship appeared.

Jason: Come on man, where are you?

Suddenly the ship had finally arrived as a man walked out.

Captain Charles: "Welcome…wait, there's only one of you?"

Jason: "Yep, unfortunately."

Captain Charles: "Damn, When I heard this city is against trainers and battling, I thought they were just jokes…Anyway welcome aboard kid, Im Captain Charles, you're guide to the Kalos Region, you ready to get out of here?"

Jason Turns his head back, hoping that Nathan would show up, but he heard and saw nothing.

Jason: "Yeah…let's go."

Jason slowly walks up the board to enter the ship.

???: "WAIT!"

Jason snapped his head back as he smiled seeing Nathan Bicycle ride as fast as possible until he finally caught up to the boat.

Jason: "Nathan…I thought you…"

Nathan: "C'mon you didn't think I would let you hog all the glory huh?"

Jason: "So your parents are cool with this!?"

Nathan: "Surprisingly, yeah they want me to follow my dreams."

Jason: "Thank Arceus, I really didn't want to leave without you man!"

Jason tried his hardest to keep the tears back as Nathan simply smiled.

Nathan: "Come on, Let's get the hell out of here."

Nathan walked toward the ship as Jason gladly followed him. Afterward the ship left the pier as Jason and Nathan stared off into the distance as the city got farther and farther until it finally escaped their vision.

Nathan: "We're actually doing this."

Jason: "Yep, from here on out this is the beginning of our new life…our road to becoming not just trainers, not just champions, but legends!"

Nathan: "Let's do this!"

Jason and Nathan dabbed each other up as the ship took them to embark on their Pokemon Journey.

Mom: "Jason, why did I get a call about you being absent!?"

Jason's mom storms into his room, but her face goes from angry to confused not finding her son anywhere in his room.

Mom: "Jason…Jason…Jason!"

After spending an hour trying to find her son, she calls the Police, but after searching the entire city, Jason was nowhere to be found.

Officer: Well Ma'am, we've searched this entirety of Enotita City, and your son is nowhere to be found."

Mom: "Are you kidding me, Where could he possibly have gone, cause I know the wild pokemon here don't resort to kidnapping!"

???: "It's simple, he left the city."

The Officer and Jason's mom turn to see a car pull up and out walks the mayor of Enotita City and founder of the Pokemon Protection Agency: Orobas.

Officer: "Mayor Orobas!"

Mom: "What do you mean he fled the city, Sir?"

Orobas: "It's simple, he clearly left the city because he was unsatisfied with the safety here. Tell me Ma'am, does your son sneak out at night?"

Mom: "Sometimes, yes."

Orobas: "Then he must've run away, but don't worry. Me and the Pokemon Protection Agency will do everything in our power to make sure your son returns safely."

Mom: "Oh thank you so much sir, bless your heart!"

Orobas: "Of course, we'll get started right away."

Mayor Orobas then walks to his car, but then a hoard of Minccino's end up in front him but Orobas glares at the Minccino as they all quivered in fear until they all ran for their lives from him. Afterward, Orobas returned to his office, his eyes looking around to see if he was completely alone, before he pressed a secret button which took him to a secret underground layer that revealed the true face of the P.P.A: Team Annihilate.

Orobas: "Speak."

Annihilate Grunt #1: "Well Master Orobas, according to our resources the missing civilians are Jason Suketami and Nathan Enid."

Annihilate Grunt #2: "And according to our undercover agent, they're on a boat heading to the Kalos Region."

Orobas: "Out of all the fucking regions they went to, it just had to be Kalos!"

Annihilate Grunt #3: "Sir, they're just kids, I doubt they pose any real threat to us."

Orobas then grabs the grunt by the scruff of his shirt and lifts him up.

Orobas: "Do you not understand that those two being in Kalos will jeopardize our entire mission of finding the Prison bottle, Because if they tell others the truth of our city and become strong trainers, We're done for. So stop underestimating the potential of two kids and get to work!"

Orobas then throws the grunt as hard as possible to the wall.

Orobas: "Prepare my private jet, get as many grunts ready as possible, and call the Anarchist Roku!"

Annihilate Grunt #1: " The Anarchist Roku, But sir they haven't been contacted in years!"

Orobas: "Do I look like I care!? Call them and make sure they find those stupid kids. Because for this mission we need all our assets."

Orobas then walked and sat in his private jet as it flew straight to Kalos.

Orobas: "Nothing will stop me from achieving the Day of Chaos, Not those two brats, not any champion, not anyone. Pokemon are nothing but dangerous, barbaric beings, and I will show everyone that truth."
