He sat at the couch, his posture languid; one ankle placed nonchalantly on the other leg's knee. His hair fell over his eyes in a messy way that made him look casual at the same time devilishly handsome even with the mask on.
I averted my eyes when he caught me staring, my ears turning red.
"Ahem... So um my q-questions" clearing my throat, I tried to vocalize without stuttering but failed miserably. My mind was too scrambled to form a coherent sentence.
"You must want to know about the in between, am i right?" He inquired, thankfully ignoring my earlier stutter though I could hear the amusement in his tone.
"Yes" I answered.
"The in between is a space between worlds where time seizes to exist. It is like a transition or a path that leads from one world to another" he explained concisely.
"That is a little too vague. Wait—you Said worlds as in more than one?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
"There are more than one world currently and each world has an alternate dimension here everyone and everything in one world exist in all dimensions though personalities and coincidences may differ."he elaborated.
"How does one go into another world?" I questioned.
"You." He simply stated.
"Me?" I was slightly confused at this point.
"Yes you." He continues "you have the power to traverse worlds and find what we need to find the real world.
"Hold on I'm getting confused. What do you mean by the real world? And how do I find it? As a matter of fact what exactly am i supposed to be finding?" I bombarded him with questions.
"By the real world I mean literally the real world. The other worlds or dimensions are copies of the real world that came into existence two hundred years ago when the shadows tried to create a rip in time that could cause an imbalance in the world and possibly lead it to ruin. To protect it, the goddess created multiple copies of the worlds and sealed the shadows in one of them while also transferring a piece of every soul to each world. That is why everyone in the real world exist in each world" he paused and stared right into my eyes, his red orbs seeing more than meets the eye "however, a person who does in one of the fake world is not dead in the real world. Rather that piece of his soul is suspended here in the in between until it is sent back to the main body in the real world."
All this information was alot to take in and I was already starting to feel tired.
I let out a yawn but tried to cover it up afraid he would notice and cut this here but he still noticed.
"It's time you have some rest" he expressed standing to his feet and extending a hand to me.
"But you haven't answered all my questions yet" i let out a yawn at the end.
"I will but you seem tired nd need rest" his tone brooked no argument.
"Fine" I conceded, "but when I wake up I'm going to make you answer all my questions.
"Sure you will" amusement laced his words.
He led me back to the bedroom I woke up in. After making sure I was tucked in comfortably, he was about to leave when i grabbed his arm and made him stop.
"I forgot to ask your name" i mummured sleepily.
"Azrael".
"Azrael, that's nice" i tested the name liking how smoothly it rolled off my tongue.
I yawned again, unable to keep my eyes open any longer, I drifted off to sleep but not before hearing his words.
"Rest well my love"
'my love? What does he mean'
