Chapter 5 - Sea of white

I walked silently through the sea of white, my footsteps echoing I the empty space.

"Hello?" My voice echoed through the silence.

Everywhere was white: there was absolutely nothing here.

I continued to walk for what felt like hours, my legs were beginning to ache.

"Is anybody there?" My question returned back to me each time reducing in volume.

My legs gave out beneath me and I fell to the white floor if I could even call it that.

I brought my knees to my chest wrapping my arms around them and closed my eyes.

'this is a dream, you'll wake up soon. This is a dream, you'll wake up soon' I thought over and over again trying to comfort myself.

"This is not a dream my child" a soft and soothing voice sounded out breaking my train of thought, leaving me frozen in shock.

It took me a few seconds to get back to my senses before I finally said "who's there? Show yourself."

"Fear not my child, I am not here to harm you" the same voice came again. It was soft like a woman's and soothing bringing with it a surge of warmth, causing one to relax upon hearing it.

"What do you want?" I whispered much more composed now.

"You my child are the chosen one. You will save my world and all the people. You will defeat the evil lurking in the shadows," she said.

"I think you have the wrong idea about me. I am no saviour nor am I special or worthy of being the chosen one. How am I supposed to save the whole world when I couldn't even save my family?" My tone wavered at the end, my doubts and insecurities evident in my tone.

"You can save the world. You have the power and my blessing. What you need to do is find the missing pieces and fight the great war. The life of everyone is in your hands. But be warned, not everything is as it seems, a friend may turn for and for a friend. Not everything and everyone is the same in each world. Be careful and heed my warning." The voice paused for a moment before it continued, "before you journey, you will see the past. The truth will guide you till the last." The scenery began to change with her words. "I'll show you the history of time but do remember not everything is as it seems."

Her voice fades as my surrounding completely changed. I was standing in a dark room with light coming in from the slightly ajar door.

Voices could be heard coming from beyond the door as two knights walked down the hall talking and laughing rather loudly.

I moved towards the slightly open door and peeped through the space.

The hall was now empty save for the two guards standing intimidatingly at a door down the hall.

I had to find a way to get past the guards and through that door. I had a feeling what that woman wanted me to know was behind that very door.

I turned back to the room I was in, trying to find something, anything, that could be of assistance to me.

The room was dark so I couldn't make out much but still tell that the room was huge and lavishly decorated.

From what I could see though, I could just make out a king sized bed, three other set of doors, a balcony and a massive chandelier filled with unlit candles that hanged from above. The whole room gave off an ancient style not like where i came from.

I continued to survey the room until two glowing circles made me freeze.

My breath caught in my throat and i was unable to move.
