JESSIE
These two look like they're about to kill each other, so I come in between them, placing my hands on both of their chests.
"Hold the fuck up, both of you!" And it's like my voice is some kind of kryptonite because they stand down immediately, well, Sebby does, but Jeremy doesn't. He's still growling like a rabid dog. I look at him.
"I said, hold it," I say to Jeremy, and his eyes go back to normal, looking like the normal jade green eyes that I know and love. "I can't believe you're a veyrath," I say to him, and he gives me an apologetic look, but that look slowly turns to one of confusion and then is replaced with wonder.
"You look different," he says, tilting his head to try to understand me more. I don't say anything to him; I let him do the finding out. His eyes widen when it finally dawns on him. "You're a nytheri?" he asks me, and he also looks pissed, but not at me, but the person who turned me into one.
"Jeremy, calm down."
