Chapter 5 - Tina's Life At Work.

Tina looked up with her bright smile.

"There's no one here right now so you can stop being so formal."

The lady pouted dramatically, batting her big, doe-like eyes at Tina.

"*aww...* but i like calling you that."

"*hmm...* how about i call you Miyu Tanaka then?"

She smirked while raising an eyebrow,Miyu hurriedly hugged Tina.

"Okay, okay, you win, bestie! But I really missed you! I've been so busy this month, and even though I'm your secretary, we barely saw each other. Your mom's been relentless with this project, huh?"

"I get it but could you stand up,you're literally crushing my thighs."

She got up reluctantly making Tina giggle at her cuteness.

"So what are you doing here?"

"Oh so I'm not allowed to visit my best friend when i miss her, fine,if you don't want me here then I'll leave."

She turned to leave but Tina hugged her from behind.

"Oh my god, you're so fucking dramatic, sit down will you?"

Miyu giggled then sat on the couch in Tina's office.

"I'm actually very busing wrapping up the project and all but if you don't mind waiting till I'm done then we can go for dinner."

"Yay,it's a date then."

Tina went back to her desk, flipping through papers while Miyu sprawled lazily on the couch, still bouncing her leg in excitement.

"So… spill! How have you been surviving without me breathing down your neck all month?"

Miyu teased, tilting her head. Tina smirked, her fingers pausing over the documents.

"Honestly? I've been drowning in emails and meetings. But don't worry, I survived… barely."

Miyu dramatically gasped.

"Barely? That's unacceptable! You're my best friend. I can't allow survival without me to happen."

Tina chuckled, shaking her head.

"You really are relentless, Miyu."

"Relentless? Me? I'm just… concerned for my bestie. And also, because I missed you too much to just sit at home and do nothing!"

Miyu said, pretending to fan herself, but her eyes sparkled with mischief. Tina's phone buzzed with a meeting reminder. She groaned softly.

"Ugh… I have a client call in five minutes. Miyu, you'll have to behave yourself until then."

Miyu sat up, puffing her cheeks.

"Behave? That's… a challenge. But fine, I'll restrain myself… for now."

She crossed her arms and shot Tina a playful glare. Tina smiled to herself, shaking her head again, before answering the call. Miyu's eyes followed her, bouncing between curiosity and mischief, plotting exactly how she'd sneakily interrupt or tease her CEO bestie before dinner. After the client call,Tina was again at her desk working or doing something else? Tina giggled at a message on her phone, her fingers tapping quickly across the screen. Miyu's curiosity got the better of her.

"So… whatcha doing?"

She asked, leaning forward on the couch, eyes sparkling with mischief. Tina looked up, her smile softening.

"Just… looking at my pet. He's just so cute."

Miyu perked up immediately.

"You mean Neko Neko? Well, he is cute,I guess."

Tina's lips twitched as she muttered under her breath, just barely audible.

"Except… for the fact that he could give people chlamydia but that's cute as well."

Miyu blinked.

"Wait… what?"

Tina waved a hand, pretending she hadn't said it.

"No, no, not Neko Neko. I got a new pet… he's just… really cute, but he's finding it hard to open up to me."

She sighed dramatically,Miyu's eyes widened, leaning closer.

"Not Neko Neko? Okay, okay… so why do you think he's having trouble opening up to you?"

Tina shrugged lightly, shrugging off the sudden seriousness.

"Honestly, I get it. We literally just met yesterday, and boom… the most shocking news dropped on us, plus we have to share a room. I get why he's cautious."

Miyu groaned dramatically, arms crossed.

"~ughhhh... a new pet that's not even that pet she clings to, gets to sleep in the same room as her when I couldn't even step a foot in her house!! Ughhh dang it!~ Maybe… he's just uncomfortable sharing a room with you. I mean, you've just met. It makes sense to give him some space."

"You're right,maybe that's it. I've decided. I'm gonna move out."

"What?, I don't mean that much space and why should you be the one moving out?"

"Okay, okay chill, not like moving out of my house,I'm just gonna move out of the room, I'm gonna call Elijah and tell him to help me prepare a new room."

She grinned and hurriedly went after her phone to message Elijah.

"~ughhh, that Elijah guy gives me the creeps,he keeps staring into my soul and doesn't even talk much and it somehow feels like he notices that I'm in love with Tina but that's not possible even the person I'm in love with doesn't notice it~"

Miyu tapped her chin, pretending to think deeply, her eyes narrowing playfully.

"Well I hope your new pets warms up to you soon, bestie."

Tina rolled her eyes, grinning.

"Yeah, me too… but don't worry, Miyu. He's adorable, I just need to be patient and also give him space."

Miyu leaned back on the couch, flopping dramatically, but her smile was full of teasing curiosity.

"Adorable, huh? Can't wait to meet this mysterious new pet. Hopefully he's as cute as you say… and maybe he won't steal your attention from me too much!"

Tina laughed, shaking her head at Miyu's playful jealousy. Little did Miyu know, the 'new pet' was someone far more complicated than a simple furry friend, and the slow unraveling of his heart and hers was only just beginning. Tina was done with work for today and she and Miyu left for their 'date'. The city lights shimmered over the sleek streets as Tina and Miyu stepped out of the car. Tina adjusted her tailored cream blazer, heels clicking softly on the pavement, while Miyu bounced excitedly beside her. The restaurant shimmered under warm lights, but Tina and Miyu hardly noticed. They were far too busy making faces at each other across the table, giggling like two school kids in the cafeteria. Tina poked at her salad with exaggerated care.

"Ooooh, look! It's like a rainbow exploded on my plate! Do we eat it… or just admire it forever?"

Miyu leaned over dramatically, eyes wide.

"Admire it? Tina, this is food! You eat it!"

Tina made a horrified gasp, covering her mouth with her hand.

"Eat it? But what if it cries?"

Miyu threw her head back, laughing.

"Food doesn't cry, Tina! You're ridiculous!"

"Ridiculous? Moi?!"

Tina pouted, then leaned over to steal a fry from Miyu's plate.

"~mmm~ Tastes better from your plate!"

"Hey! That's mine!"

Miyu squealed, shoving Tina lightly, only to have Tina squeak in mock outrage and wriggle away, both of them erupting into giggles that drew a few curious glances from nearby seats. They switched plates mid-bite, pretending each dish was a magical treasure, tasting everything as if it were a new discovery. Tina draped a napkin like a superhero cape over her shoulders, while Miyu twirled a fork like a wand, declaring loudly.

" I am the ruler of the spaghetti kingdom!"

"And I am… Queen of the rainbow salad!"

Tina countered, pointing dramatically at her plate. They both leaned forward, elbows brushing, eyes sparkling, and laughed so hard they nearly knocked over their water glasses.

"Bestie… tell me a secret!"

Miyu whispered, leaning on the table, trying to catch her breath. Tina leaned closer, eyes wide and sparkling with mischief.

"~hmm...~ okay! But you have to promise not to laugh!"

"I promise!"

Miyu said eagerly. Tina tapped her finger against her lips.

"I sometimes wake up and talk to Neko Neko… as if he understands everything I say."

Miyu's eyes went wide.

"You mean your koala? Tina… that's… adorable!"

"Exactly!"

Tina squeaked, bouncing in her seat.

"And he totally judges me sometimes. Like, 'Tina, seriously? You wore socks that don't match again?' "

Miyu giggled so hard she nearly fell over.

"I… I think Neko Neko sounds like the wisest little fluff ever!"

As they moved on to dessert, Tina tried to feed Miyu a bite of her ice cream with a tiny spoon, but Miyu retaliated by flicking a little whipped cream onto Tina's nose. Tina squealed, wiping it off dramatically, then flicked some back at Miyu. Soon, both were in a full-blown whipped-cream duel, howling with laughter, drawing amused stares from other diners. Finally, exhausted and sticky but happy, they collapsed into their seats, breathing heavily and grinning from ear to ear.Tina leaned her head on Miyu's shoulder.

"Bestie… this is perfect. We should do this… like, forever!"

Miyu smiled, resting her cheek against Tina's.

"Forever, Tina. Just us, two little chaos queens in the world."

And for a moment, nothing else existed-no meetings, no deadlines, just pure, innocent chaos and joy, the kind only two childlike souls could create together. Tina waved goodbye to Miyu, still giggling at her friend's dramatic pout, and adjusted her cream Italian blazer as she stepped out of the restaurant. The city lights reflected off the glass doors, making everything shimmer like a scene from a movie.

"Okay, bestie… until our next date!"

Miyu called, blowing a tiny kiss that made Tina chuckle. Tina shook her head, smiling to herself as she walked to her car. The day had been exhausting, but strangely lighthearted—filled with laughter, sweets, and the rare chance to act like a normal girl instead of a CEO. She didn't even notice how late it had gotten. Meanwhile, across the city, Andrew's night was just beginning. Bartender apron on, shaker in hand, he moved through the crowd effortlessly-but in the back of his mind, a small, nagging thought of Tina lingered.
