================

A new life was born that day in the Demon Realm of Garland, the land of the demon race.

The child, named Aldias, was blessed by many of their kin, as both parents were kind-hearted. While a long war with the human race continued, claiming many lives of their kin, the birth of this new life was celebrated with great revelry.

However, an event occurred that completely changed the atmosphere.

Suddenly, an immense pressure assailed the demon kin present. Those who were drinking sobered instantly, and those enjoying their meals felt their stomachs churn.

In this situation, a man from Garland's special forces, who happened to be present, quickly looked around to identify the source of this pressure.

Due to his position, he was often on the battlefield. That's why he immediately recognized this pressure as emanating from a powerful magical force. Even he rarely felt such an immense power, and sweat ran down his back as he headed towards its source.

──And then, he was aghast.

Impossible. Unbelievable. Such thoughts raced through his mind.

Gradually, those around him regained their composure and, one after another, turned their eyes toward the source of the pressure. Everyone reacted the same way.

The focus of everyone present was on a newborn infant. The pressure was gradually subsiding, but unlike humans, the demon kin, skilled in handling magic, could not have been mistaken.

Amidst the stunned silence, someone murmured, "A cursed child..."

Though whispered softly, the single word was clearly audible in the quiet, and the eyes of everyone present slowly took on a sharp, hostile glint.

A "cursed child"──a being said to bring disaster simply by existing. The criteria for this belief differed among races. However, one thing was common: A cursed child was typically executed or banished upon discovery.

If this had been power acquired upon growth, it wouldn't have been called a cursed child. On the contrary, there was a possibility they would have been praised as a hero of the demon kin. But for a newborn child, only a few days old, to possess such power was ordinarily impossible.

Unfathomable. Incomprehensible. Terrifying. Therefore, persecute.

The child's parents were the ones who felt a surge of anxiety in this situation. Even if called a cursed child, to them, it was still their beloved offspring.

But those around them would not allow it. If they protected a cursed child, they too would become targets for elimination.

The woman, with tears in her eyes, embraced the infant, and the man stood in front of them as if to protect them, though he knew it was a futile resistance.

The couple, literally thrown from heaven to hell, showed expressions of despair...

──Then, the hand of the Demon God was extended.

"Wait."

A dignified voice echoed through the space.

Everyone turned toward the source of the voice and was speechless.

Aruvu, the Demon King of Garland and the God of the Alv religion worshipped by the demon kin, stood there.

As the demon kin immediately knelt and bowed their heads, Alv leisurely walked forward. His destination was the infant, called the cursed child, and its parents.

The couple was stunned by the Demon King's sudden appearance but quickly knelt like everyone else. However, their bodies trembled uncontrollably.

At this moment, both the couple and the surrounding demon kin shared the same thought: The Demon King himself had come to eliminate the cursed child.

Reaching the couple, Alv gazed at the infant held by its mother. Then, he softly murmured, "Magnificent."

The demon kin around him couldn't believe their ears at the words that came from their King's mouth. If their ears were not mistaken, had their King not just called that cursed child "magnificent"?

Ignoring their confusion, Alv took the infant from the mother, held it in his arms, and turned to face the still-stunned demon kin.

"This child is not a cursed child. This child is a child of God."

As they widened their eyes in shock, Alv continued to speak. This child was born to become an apostle of God, inheriting divine majesty. Therefore, it was not at all strange for them to possess overwhelming magical power.

The demon kin were dumbfounded, but upon understanding the meaning of Alv's words, shouts of joy immediately erupted. As mentioned before, the demon kin had been at war with the human race for hundreds of years.

In such a situation, the existence of someone blessed by God would be a catalyst to break the current stalemate.

The demon kin began to stir with excitement again, but the faces of the crucial infant's parents still did not lighten.

Until now, the two had lived lives unrelated to war. Of course, they understood that they were in a war, and they were proud of the soldiers who continued to fight for the sake of the nation and the prosperity of the demon race.

However, the two of them did not have the nerves to simply rejoice at the situation where their child might stand on the battlefield.

If, upon growing up, the child wished for it, that would be fine. Even if conscription became necessary in a national crisis, it would still be barely acceptable.

However, they could not tolerate forcing a path of war upon an infant only a few days old.

Unaware of their internal conflict, Alv, holding the infant, was in an exceedingly good mood.

Alv had been resting in the royal palace when he suddenly felt an immense magical power and immediately headed to the scene. The amount of magic was comparable to that of a military captain, and it was certainly not from anyone he knew.

An unknown entity had entered the country entrusted to him by his master.

──A blunder. I can't face my master like this. At the very least, I'll finish it with my own hands immediately.

Alv's state of mind at that moment was anger at being outsmarted by a lower being dwelling in the lower realm. He intended to make them regret entering this country as soon as he found them.

Alv's eyes widened. Before him was the entity emitting the immense magical power.

It was an infant. And likely only a few days old.

Yet, he could certainly feel an overflowing amount of magical power from that small body.

Alv trembled with joy. He had been incarnated as the King of the demon kin for about 300 years, but this was the first time he had seen such a prodigy.

──With this, they are worthy of that person's vessel!

He suppressed his expression but inwardly cheered. Three hundred years ago, due to the foolish ones who defied God, he couldn't obtain the vessel that person desired. Since then, no vessel worthy of that person had appeared, but finally, he could deliver good news.

As he thought this, the infant, who had been keeping its eyes closed, slowly lifted its eyelids, revealing its hidden eyes.

Beautiful eyes, shining with a golden hue. Though they bore little resemblance to the demon kin, that didn't matter.

From the looks of it, both parents had excellent features. This infant would likely grow into a similarly well-formed face.

In the not-too-distant future, that person would possess this vessel and descend upon the world, with him serving behind them. Alv indulged in pleasure, imagining such a scene.

But Alv did not notice. The golden eyes of the opened infant never once averted their gaze, continuously staring at him.

He didn't notice the terrible mistake he had made.

◇ ◇ ◇

The first emotion IT felt was [Comfort].

Its body couldn't move. Its eyes couldn't open. Yet, it felt a sense of security, as if wrapped in a warm blanket, and spent its days surrendering to slumber.

However, such days didn't last long. Suddenly, it was expelled from its place of peace.

But it wasn't overly displeased. Its eyes still couldn't open, but its body could move. It could make sounds.

More than anything, it felt as if someone was holding it. Something was speaking to it, but it couldn't understand the meaning.

Nevertheless, a great feeling of happiness emanated from them, and it, too, was filled with the emotion of [Joy].

A few days passed, and the surroundings gradually became noisier.

One day, it felt its patience reach its limit and experienced the emotion of [Anger] for the first time.

It was satisfied when the surroundings fell silent for a moment, but the noise quickly returned, and it felt even more hostility.

It began to feel irritated again by this situation, but the woman beside it embraced it, and the man stood between them, shielding it from the hostility directed at it. However, an unbearable sorrow emanated from the two.

In response to them, it felt such [Sorrow] that its chest ached.

However, this situation also didn't last long.

With the appearance of a single god, the situation quickly came to an end. That god took IT from the woman and held it in its arms.

IT had never opened its eyes until now. The reason was simply that it hadn't been necessary. Even without seeing, it could somehow grasp the surrounding situation. Since it understood, there was no need to deliberately look.

Though young, it had such thoughts, but before the being who had lifted it, it opened its eyes for the first time to this world. And it caught sight of the great King—the atrocious false king—who guided the people before its eyes.

At that moment, IT suppressed all emotions and felt [Nothingness].

──So, that's how it is. Was I born to destroy this God...?
