Eyes fluttering open, Ashton woke up days since he had passed out. His expression was blank as he lay there, his breathing the only testament that he was alive.

Her fist was the last thing he had seen. Her intent was obvious. She was planning to hit him. He truly had no idea if it was the sheer resolve in her eyes—that she was ready to do so — that had made him collapse, or from syncope.
