Chapter 34 - Last day (2)

The ones with minor injuries were good so far, and after treating them, her karma had already risen enough for her to purchase Keen Eyes, and she had done so without hesitation. Having the upgraded ability made her relieved and more confident.

And three days ago, the world finally calmed a bit. The floodwaters that once raged through the streets had mostly receded with the temperature rising, leaving behind a thick layer of mud and a rancid stench that could be felt as soon as you stepped out.

Two days ago, the temperature rose again, and the city began to suffocate under the weight of the heat. The sun was merciless, baking the ruins until steam curled from the streets.

No survivors tried venturing out.

But now, in a matter of hours, the final phase would begin. Another hell was coming, one that would test the survivors in ways the elements never could. A part of her almost wished the extreme heat would continue. However, she quickly dismissed that wish.
