A foreign-looking man was now clutching his neck, growls the only sound that left his throat. A black, web-like pattern of veins crawled up his neck, pulsing with a dark energy. His mouth stretched open, a long, ropey strand of blackish drool dripping onto the mud as he let out a hungry hiss.
Chaos ensued as the people nearest to him scattered away, their fight for the door forgotten in a new, more immediate terror. Doing that meant the man was now in the middle, while Sienna, who was already at the back, was pushed further away, almost unable to see the transforming zombie.
"Zombie!"
"Monster!"
"It's getting up!"
"It's looking at me!"
The zombie's milky eyes, now devoid of any humanity, scanned the chaos before locking onto the closest, easiest target, the mother, who was still grappling with the wife on the ground.
With a speed that defied its jerky movements, it scrambled towards them.
