"Ahhhhhhhhh!"
The wife's scream tore through the air, raw and piercing as her husband's limp body crashed into her. She stumbled under his dead weight, collapsing to the mud with him sprawled across her. The blood mixing with rainwater spread in dark rivulets around them, a grotesque halo.
Her trembling hands clawed at his face, ignoring the ruined mess where the bullet had shattered bone. "No, no! You're still here! Please — wake up! Please! Open your eyes! You can't leave me!" Her cries were frantic, her body shaking as if she could will his chest to rise again.
This was her husband, her childhood friend since they were three years old. Their bond was as deep as that of twins. They grew up, chose to become lovers, married right after graduating, came to this place on their honeymoon, and now... now...
"Ahhhhhh." A deep cry rumble from her chest, trembling with so much grief as she held his cold body, hugging him as tight as she could.
