Silence followed after that simple question.
Ashton sighed, shaking his head.
This entity was right.
He couldn't.
The rewards were too much for him to just ignore, and he wasn't about to miss it.
"Fine."
"Hahahaha, I know it! I know you're my partner from the moment you fed me!"
"Now, feed me, human."
Ashton didn't hesitate and re-bit his finger, a drop of blood falling. He thought that would be it until the entity suddenly requested,
"Four more!"
"What?"
"Four more drops!" demanded the entity in a hurried voice.
"We only discussed a drop," Ashton protested.
"We didn't discuss, human. And... it's just four more drops. That's literally nothing."
Ashton couldn't help but become wary. Earlier, it was one. Now, it was five. Would it be a hundred the next?
"Quick!" the voice urged again.
'Maybe I'm thinking too much,' Ashton blamed his overly suspicious nature as he let out four more drops, which were quickly absorbed by the pendant.
